Dominant Trillionaire Butler

Chapter 5: : The Metropolitan Commissioner

"Make sure you record it well."

Inside the prison cell, Lucian was tied by his wrists up against the ceiling.

Whip... Kweuk.

While two policemen lashed his back with fat whips, every touch carried away a piece of Lucian's skin and blood.

The one videoing the whole punishment was a lady. She felt pity for Lucian, and the groans he made undoubtedly made her feel bad.

"Sir, don't you think we should let the man rest a while?" asked the lady.

The chief officer of the station was smoking where he sat, with his leg crossed against the table.

He heard what she had said, so he dropped his leg and sighed.

"Look, the Manhattans are rich people. We could gain favors from them by doing this minor request," said the policeman. He turned to look at Lucian getting flogged and added,

"But him? He's just a butler. We would gain nothing from someone like him."

After the rounds of lashes he took, it was finally over, but not without Lucian's back looking like it was designed by a serial killer.

Lucian was left leaning against the wall where he sat, grasping for breath with his eyes cold.

So this is how society treats common people, thought Lucian.

He had been so focused on his political buildings and his days in the military, that he did not pay attention to society.

Of course, it wasn't his job. He wasn't the president that should attend to human affairs, but experiencing something like this...

Who knows how many commoners are being treated unfairly? Mrs. Manhattan dares humiliate me. Once they know you're rich, they would even worship your mistakes.

Lost in his thoughts, Lucian didn't know when Jane had stormed into the station, yelling at the officers to free Lucian.

"If... if," Jane mumbled, "if you don't open his cell, I will break the bars right now," said Jane. She was having trouble forming her words with all that mumbling.

It looked as if she was stammering.

"Haha, go ahead. The bars are unbreakable... haha."

They had thought she was joking until Jane picked up a steel chair and bam, slammed it against the bars, making a bang sound and causing Lucian to open his eyes.

"Lu... Lucian, don't worry... don't worry. I went to meet Madam Frost. She—she—"

Lucian looked at the girl he was suddenly fond of, desperately trying to break the bars, even if it hurt her palm with the rebound.

Lucian, who had been feeling pain all this while, suddenly felt pity seeing Jane.

It was as if he wanted to cry for her—a good cub living in the den of tigers.

Just as Jane was trying desperately, every police officer stomped their foot to the ground in unison, saluting the man that just entered.

The head of the entire Metropolitan police force was in their station: the Metropolitan Police Commissioner.

The chief inspector of this station could not believe his eyes.

What could a man of such authority be doing in a lowly dump like this one?

Overall, everywhere was so quiet that only Jane's struggle with the bars could be heard.

The MPC walked towards Jane and placed his hand on her shoulder. Turning around with a glance, the man's jovial smile made her stop.

Without saying a word, the man stretched his palm, and the key was handed to him immediately.

Then he gave it to Jane, who was still staring at him, before she opened the prison cell and ran in.

"I'm shutting down this station," at last, the MPC spoke. His words sent chills down the spines of every officer inside.

"S-sir? Shutting us down?"

"Every prisoner will be transported to another station."

Lucian walked out with the support of Jane.

"Are you okay, Lucian? Do you need me to have their heads sent to their families?"

"No need, Derek. I'm fine," said Lucian.

The threat made the police officers stumble back. The station's chief officer couldn't believe what he was hearing.

The MPC was taking orders from the butler they had just arrested.

"Sir... sir, you must be mistaking this man for someone else. This man is just a butler, sir."

The words provoked Derek to the point where he skipped a heartbeat and grabbed the chief officer by the uniform.

Ready to bash his face as easily as crushing a tomato. However, Lucian stopped him. The officer could see the fist with fat veins inches away from his eyes.

It was as if the fist was radiating death.

While everyone was clueless as to why the MPC would be taking orders from Lucian...

Jane had the idea it was because Madam Frost owed her one, and she had requested help. So it was likely the man Madam Frost had ordered to help them would answer to them, especially when Lucian was the victim.

"Well, I'm still shutting down this station," said Derek. He turned to Lucian, then saw the wounds. "You bastards."

Bam... Kweuk.

He couldn't hold back the anger and damaged the chief officer's face with his fist, blood oozing from the man's nose.

Lucian chuckled. One thing they had in common was a quick temper.

"You still haven't changed, Derek," said Lucian.

"What can I say? I learned from the best."

They both chuckled. It was now clear that Lucian and Derek knew each other.

Jane turned to look at Lucian, now wondering how a butler could know someone like Derek. Even by accident, it was close to impossible.

"Do you two know each other?" asked Jane. She was now having thoughts that Lucian might not be who they thought.

A/N: I know you must be thinking why I would let Lucian get flogged like that even though he is the one and Only Lucian Frost!

But it was a necessary punishment. And I saw a preview that says the pacing is too fast, I respect that and I'll do the needful to break things down a bit.
