Dimensional Trader in Marvel

Chapter 201: Chapter 201: The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (1) (Bonus)

(Bonus Chapter 2)

"It's her!" Josh quickly checked the information Peggy Carter had sent over, and when he saw the name "Mar-Vell," he immediately understood.

The original Captain Marvel from the comics, the mentor to Carol Danvers in the movies.

Reading through Carter's report and the details of their conversation, Josh quickly realized that Mar-Vell had not yet become involved with the Skrulls, nor had she reached the point of betraying the Kree Starforce.

After all, Mar-Vell had helped those Skrull refugees escape to Earth, later going into hiding and becoming the head of Project Pegasus. That happened in the 1980s—at least thirty to forty years from now.

And judging by her attitude, she had no idea how dangerous Earth really was.

"Boss, don't tell me you even know aliens?" Ophelia, who had come to deliver some documents, couldn't help but ask with a strange expression on her face as she looked at Josh's expression.

All she could say was that her boss had way too many secrets. And judging by his reaction, he wasn't even surprised by the arrival of an alien—nor the powerful civilization she might belong to.

"What's so strange about aliens? One day we might even meet gods," Josh said casually.

Ophelia's eyes widened at his words. Gods? Could it be...

"Don't make that face. Whatever Hydra worships doesn't deserve to be called a god. To be honest, that so-called God they believe in? It's actually just a failed bioweapon created by the Kree Empire," Josh added with a grin, watching her expression twist in shock.

And when she heard Josh's words, Ophelia felt her mind go blank for a moment.

She had never been particularly loyal to Hydra, nor was she entirely convinced of their so-called god.

But hearing Josh say that Hydra's God was nothing more than a failed Kree experiment still shook her to the core.

And looking at Josh, who seemed to be completely serious, Ophelia couldn't help but believe him—at least 80% of it.

After all, Josh had never lied to her since she had become his subordinate. And in this case, he had no reason to.

She wondered how the old men in the Council would react to this information... probably with outright denial.

"So what do we do about Mar-Vell?" Ophelia asked after a moment.

"Do? Nothing. She seems to like Carter, so let Carter entertain her. Think of it as a political assignment. All expenses go on the official account." Josh waved his hand dismissively, signing off on the approval and handing it to Ophelia.

Hmm... although for some reason, looking at the photos of Carter and Mar-Vell in the report, there seemed to be a hint of... chemistry.

Tsk... Could Mar-Vell be Cap's true rival in love?

"Boss, you really treat Carter well..." Ophelia heard Josh's command and couldn't help but feel jealous.

Sending Carter to accompany an alien was basically an all-expenses-paid vacation.

Meanwhile, she was stuck handling the affairs of several agencies, working herself to death. She couldn't help but feel jealous.

"Hah, how about I let you switch with Carter?" Josh asked with a fake smile.

"Uh... no thanks. I love my job. Working 24/7 is my blessing!" Ophelia straightened up immediately and replied energetically.

"Yeah, yeah. Now get back to work," Josh rolled his eyes and gave her a playful pat before shooing her away.

Ophelia just chuckled and left the office.

Her complaints were only half-serious anyway. Josh gave her so much responsibility because he really trusted her. If it were Carter, well... Carter might like it, but Josh certainly wouldn't.

And Ophelia knew that very well.

Besides, she had already used the advanced super-soldier serum from Josh's secret lab—the safe, side-effect-free kind. She didn't need to take crazy risks like Carter did just to have a slim chance of success.

So a little extra work didn't bother her at all.

After Ophelia left, Josh decided to call it a day.

It was only three in the afternoon, but hey, he was the boss. Who was going to stop him?

Just as he was about to leave, a familiar feeling struck him—someone was contacting him through the system.

Josh locked the office door and sat back in his chair.

He opened the communication channel, and a dusty, battle-worn Cai Lin from the Mummy universe appeared on the system screen.

"Mr. Kahn, I've found the Tomb of the Dragon Emperor!" Cai Lin, dressed in full battle gear and looking a little dusty, said rather excitedly.

"Oh? You're faster than I expected. Does that mean you've found the Eye of Shangri-La as well?" Josh's eyes lit up.
