Dimensional Kaguya Ōtsutsuki

Chapter 595: Cutting Through Like Vegetables

The Tsukiyama family rose to prominence decades ago through expeditions. At first, they were just another Ghoul family, relying on their superior predatory instincts and combat prowess to expand their influence. Over time, they accumulated substantial wealth and established themselves as one of the most prestigious families in the Ghoul society.

However, beneath this glamorous facade, the Tsukiyama family was far more formidable than they appeared. Unbeknownst to most, their ancestral home was hidden within the 21st Ward, where they had been secretly engaging in various dark and bloody dealings for years. They were one of the driving forces behind many underground Ghoul activities.

It was rumored that the notorious "Aogiri Tree" organization also received financial backing from the Tsukiyama family. Many powerful Ghouls within their ranks were nurtured through Tsukiyama's vast resources. Their activities, which included human trafficking, live experiments, and other atrocities, had long been an open secret among those in the know.

This time, the CCG's mission was to eradicate the Tsukiyama family once and for all.

Kaguya had made a deal with the CCG in the past—under normal circumstances, the CCG would not actively pursue Ghouls who did not harm humans. However, the Tsukiyama family had blatantly violated this agreement by continuing their predatory actions on humans, even targeting high-ranking investigators and influential figures.

This not only crossed the CCG's bottom line but was also an insult that Kaguya could not tolerate.

A large-scale operation was launched, deploying a significant number of CCG investigators and military forces. They struck swiftly and without warning, surrounding the Tsukiyama estate before the Ghouls could detect them.

However, the strength of the Tsukiyama family far exceeded expectations. In addition to their own Ghoul forces, they possessed a formidable array of Quinques acquired from fallen investigators, and they had enlisted many mercenary Ghouls to bolster their ranks.

Despite the unexpected resistance, retreating was not an option. A withdrawal would only invite relentless pursuit from the Tsukiyama family, which could deal a devastating blow to the CCG's morale. Victory was the only way forward.

In the midst of deafening explosions, pre-placed explosives around the estate's perimeter detonated in unison. The ground trembled, stone and debris scattered, and thick smoke billowed into the sky. The shockwaves ripped through the air, sending chunks of the high walls crashing down in a cloud of dust.

Seizing the opportunity, the CCG investigators charged in.

Initially, the operation was meant to be a surprise attack, catching the Ghouls off guard while they were unprepared. The plan was to infiltrate and quickly neutralize key targets. However, the moment they breached the estate, they were met with an overwhelming counterattack.

Shrill screams filled the air.

Gunfire erupted in rapid bursts, assault rifles spewing streams of searing bullets toward the incoming Ghouls.

Scarlet blood splattered across the battlefield as some Ghouls were caught off guard, their bodies torn apart by the relentless barrage. They staggered and fell, their bodies riddled with bullets, lifelessly collapsing onto the cold ground.

But the Tsukiyama family's Ghouls were far from ordinary. With exceptional regenerative abilities, many shrugged off the injuries, their Kagune flaring to life as they retaliated with ferocity.

Kagune sliced through the air, tearing through the ranks of investigators, sending them flying amidst the chaos.

Not only that, countless crimson Rc crystal projectiles shot out from the attacking Ghouls, raining down upon the investigators like a deadly storm. Each impact sent shivers down the spines of the advancing forces, as they struggled to hold their ground against the merciless assault.

In the luxurious mansion of the Tsukiyama family, the scene was chaotic and intense. Despite their noble and refined exterior, the Tsukiyama family harbored a dark and sinister core. At this moment, their carefully maintained facade was shattering under the relentless assault of the CCG.

"Damn it!" Itsuki Marude furiously smashed his phone onto the floor. "How could there be so many Ghouls?! Intelligence reported nothing of this scale! How did they miss such a crucial detail?!"

"This is vastly different from our intelligence reports," he continued angrily. "But now is not the time to dwell on it," said Kishou Arima, stepping out of the shadows with his usual calm demeanor. "Deploy all Special Class Investigators. High-ranking Ghouls cannot be handled with standard forces alone."

"But even so, we are severely understaffed!" Marude gritted his teeth. "Those intelligence officers are utterly useless! They missed something this important?!"

"Is that so?" A strange gleam flickered in Arima's eyes. "But there's no need to worry too much. They are just a group of pampered Ghouls. We don't need to eliminate them all—just their core. Once we crush that, the rest will fall like dominoes."

"We need to be serious," Marude muttered, feeling uneasy. He turned to look at the surveillance monitors, his expression changing in shock. "You mean... her?!"

On the screen, a black-haired girl shot out from the group of investigators like an arrow released from a bow. In the blink of an eye, she closed the distance to the nearest Ghoul, her blade slashing through the air in a flash. The Ghoul didn't even have time to react before its body was cleaved in half.

Splurt!

Scarlet blood spurted into the air, painting the ground red.

The remaining Ghouls barely had time to react before another blur of movement followed. In mere moments, several more fell lifelessly to the ground.

"A feast of slaughter... begins now," Kaguya smirked cruelly, flicking her blade to rid it of blood splatters, leaving crimson droplets staining the floor.

"How arrogant... human!"

From the outskirts of the battlefield, the high-ranking Ghouls finally took notice. They had initially been disinterested in the skirmish, thinking it was beneath them. However, seeing their kin being effortlessly slaughtered, their expressions darkened, and their Kagune unfurled menacingly.

"You dare to rampage here? Let's see how long you can last!" A massive Ghoul leaped down from the balcony, landing with a heavy thud. Its predatory gaze locked onto Kaguya, and with a chilling grin, it lunged forward with incredible speed.

"Wait," Marude suddenly said, his eyes glued to the screen. His heart pounded with worry as he turned to Arima. "Arima Special Class, shouldn't we send reinforcements? No matter how strong she is, it's impossible for her to handle this alone!"

"Just watch," Arima replied coolly, his sharp eyes glinting with intrigue. "She's far stronger than we imagined."

"Kill!"

"Kill!"

"Kill!"

Amid the deafening battle cries, the ghouls charging forward displayed grotesque expressions, their kagune flaring menacingly as they prepared to strike. Their eyes gleamed with the thrill of the hunt, their savage instincts fully awakened, eager to tear apart the humans before them.

However, the predatory grins on their faces quickly twisted into expressions of pure terror.

Surrounded by ghouls, the black-haired girl showed no trace of panic; instead, the corners of her lips curled into a mocking smirk. With a sharp stomp of her foot, she dashed forward like a lightning bolt, meeting the attackers head-on.

A tall and slender ghoul at the forefront hesitated for a moment, his instincts screaming at him to retreat. But before he could react, the girl had already closed the distance.

"Too slow," she sneered.

With a swift slash, her blade sliced through the air with terrifying speed. Before the ghoul could even register what had happened, his right arm had already been severed from his body.

A searing pain coursed through him. He let out a bloodcurdling scream, staggering backward in shock, crimson blood gushing from the wound.

Splurt!

A spray of bright red blood arced through the air.

The severed limb landed with a dull thud, and the ghoul stumbled to his knees, clutching the bloody stump with wide, horror-stricken eyes. The last thing he saw was the girl's blade reflecting his terrified face before it cleaved cleanly through his neck.

The surrounding ghouls finally snapped out of their stupor, their expressions shifting from arrogance to alarm. Panic gripped them as they realized the monstrous strength of the enemy before them.

Some attempted to flee, while others instinctively attacked, their kagune flaring violently in desperation.

With a look of disdain, Kaguya smirked and spun around. Her wrist flicked deftly, and the shimmering blade in her hand danced through the air, creating a mesmerizing cascade of blue arcs.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

In a series of sharp, crystalline shatters, the kagune projectiles were reduced to fine powder before they could reach her. The ghouls were left stunned, realizing that their attacks were utterly ineffective against this terrifying force.

Desperation filled their eyes.

But then, Kaguya's figure vanished.

The ghouls froze in shock.

As they frantically searched for her in the surrounding chaos, she suddenly materialized right before them, her icy smirk sending shivers down their spines.

Their faces contorted in fear as they tried to react, but it was far too late.

In a single, fluid motion, her flawless white arm sliced through the air, and her blade unleashed a dazzling burst of cold light. The razor-sharp arcs of her sword effortlessly cut through the trembling ghouls, reducing them to lifeless corpses in the blink of an eye.

Splurt, Splurt, Splurt—

Crimson blood sprayed into the air, severed limbs and dismembered body parts flew about, as if a torrential rain of flesh had fallen upon the battlefield.

With a light tap of her toes, Kaguya's graceful form drifted down like a feather, descending from midair. At the same time, she twirled her wrist, elegantly spinning the blade in her hand before it clicked back into its sheath with a crisp metallic ring, concealing its deadly gleam.

Thud, Thud, Thud—

Decapitated heads and dismembered limbs dropped onto the ground with dull, sickening thuds, splashing fresh, putrid blood everywhere. The ground was already littered with the corpses of fallen ghouls, their bodies contorted in grotesque angles. The expressions frozen on their lifeless faces were a mix of agony and disbelief, as if unable to comprehend how their lives had ended so abruptly.

The remaining ghouls stared in horror, their eyes wide with fear and disbelief. They instinctively took a step back, their once arrogant expressions now replaced with pure terror. Some even trembled uncontrollably, their hands shaking as they clutched their kagune, which no longer seemed like formidable weapons but rather futile extensions of their fear.

"As you can see, you're surrounded. If you don't want to die, surrender now." Kaguya strolled forward leisurely, a wicked smile curling on her lips. She bent down and picked up a severed head from the ground, holding it casually in her hand. The head's lifeless eyes still bore traces of lingering horror. "If you disagree… well, you can just die."

With a flick of her wrist, she flung the severed head into the air. It spun several times before landing with a heavy thud at the feet of the remaining ghouls, splattering them with fresh blood. The head lay face-up, its expression frozen in an eternal scream of terror.

"Ahh! Ahhh!"

The ghouls recoiled in panic, some stumbling backward in fear. Their supposed leader, who once stood tall with confidence, now visibly shivered, his mouth opening and closing as if trying to speak but failing miserably. The oppressive aura emanating from Kaguya suffocated them, crushing their wills and making their survival instincts scream at them to flee. However, with their escape routes blocked and no hope in sight, their morale was crumbling fast.

Inside the command center.

Itsuki Marude's eyes narrowed sharply as he watched the live footage on the monitor. His heart pounded in disbelief—he had never imagined that the seemingly delicate girl would possess such overwhelming power. His view of her shifted drastically.

Previously, since he had never witnessed Kaguya in action, he had dismissed the rumors regarding a powerful new investigator. He had thought that no matter how skilled a rookie might be, their abilities would be limited at best, only reaching an upper-level investigator's standard.

But the reality before him was far beyond his expectations. This black-haired girl named Liuli possessed strength that greatly exceeded that of a typical superior investigator—she was at least on par with, if not surpassing, special class investigators.

"Is this the person you mentioned before?" Itsuki Marude turned to look at Kishou Arima, his voice filled with astonishment.

Arima, standing in the shadows, stepped forward with a composed expression. "Yes," he said plainly. "But this... is only the beginning."

...

Outside the Moon Mountain family estate, an eerie scene unfolded.

A group of ghouls, originally full of bloodlust and savagery, now stood frozen in place. Their kagune flickered anxiously, and their eyes darted about in search of an escape route. In stark contrast, the girl who had supposedly been "cornered" stood there effortlessly, exuding confidence. It was as if she was the one encircling them, rather than the other way around.

"Pitiful weaklings," Kaguya's voice dripped with mockery. "You, who lurk in the shadows of society like stray dogs… is this the best you can do?" Her eyes gleamed with a sharp, predatory light. "You really think you're fit to challenge me? How pathetic."

At that moment, Kaguya moved.

Like an arrow loosed from a bow, she lunged forward with lightning speed, closing the distance between herself and the trembling ghouls in the blink of an eye.

"Human, don't get too arrogant!"

A furious roar erupted from the ghoul ranks. Suddenly, a dark figure burst forth from the group, a tail-like Rinkaku kagune lashing out toward Kaguya at breakneck speed.
