Chapter 105: Ch 105 Death Monarch
Klaus had just familiarized himself with the surroundings when a shrill siren rang out, its piercing wail echoed across the hard stone of the fortress.
A sudden chaos broke out among the army stationed on the fort.
The soldiers, who were previously in organized formations, now moved in a frantic manner.
Their discipline, which had been so apparent moments ago, was replaced by a visible feeling of panic, their faces were etched with fear as they prepared for the upcoming battle.
A man in heavy armor, a young captain of the guard, rushed towards Caesar, the army general who had earlier kneeled in front of him.
The general's face was etched with the weight of leadership; his muscular form was tense looking at the approaching captain.
"General, the enemy is approaching at a very fast pace!" the captain declared in a loud, strained voice.
"Their army is full of A- and B-ranked monsters, and the first general of the Demon King's forces is leading this time."
This news was a significant blow to their already wavering morale.
Caesar's expression, which had been grim, turned even more serious. "What are the numbers?" he asked in a low, serious voice as his hands clenched into fists at his sides.
An army of such higher-ranked demons must be on the lower side, but his expectations were broken.
"General, the enemy army is estimated to be 8,000 strong," the man replied, his voice filled with impending fear.
Caesar's face turned even grimmer, a dark shadow passed over his features. "That's almost double the previous waves."
The increased size of the enemy force indicated a more serious, concentrated assault.
It was a sign that the demon king was getting desperate to conquer the Riverdale Kingdom.
Klaus, who was standing on the highest floor, listened with a peculiar curiosity.
He observed the panic among the soldiers about the impending battle, the number of enemies, and the high-ranked general leading them.
It all gave him a perfect opportunity to test his new abilities and, more importantly, to expand his own power.
He had a darkness affinity, and an idea came to his mind.
He knew that if he were able to summon the monsters he kills in some way, then his legion, currently numbered at 12,000, would get a huge boost.
Plus, he had other new skills he had created that he wanted to try out, and the upcoming battle seemed perfect for that.
An anticipation rose in his heart; he was thrilled to face the challenge ahead.
He asked the system,
[Can the system shadow the minion effect of the Soul Harvesting skill and help me expand the legion in the way I am thinking?]
Host, the shadow minions will be temporarily summoned and will retain their original powers, but they are not permanent.
If you want a permanent summoning, similar to a necromancer-type ability, you have to either create the skill or draw it right now.
But since your darkness affinity is not at a high enough level, your understanding of the concept of death is inadequate to make such a skill.]
[The host should just do a draw.]
"Fine. I have some spare DP. I think I can try," Klaus said internally.
He had around 7,850 DP left.
A Legendary Draw costs 1,000 DP. He had enough to make a few draws, and the cost of parameters was a factor he was willing to bear.
"System, initiate a legendary draw and set parameters to [death], [summoning], [darkness]."
[Ding! 2,110 DP will be deducted?]
"Do it" Klaus commanded without hesitation.
[Ding! 2,110 DP has been deducted, a legendary draw has been initiated ...]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host on drawing the legendary skill Death's Monarch.

Klaus looked at the new skill with excitement in his eyes. The rank was legendary, and the effects were too amazing to not be excited about.
He also had an official name for his army now, which was Death Legion.
This was a truly powerful skill that could completely change his way of fighting and how he grows in the future.
Suddenly the thought of his already summoned monsters came to his mind.
Klaus concentrated his focus inside the Sanctuary, where the summoned monsters were now roaming around the terrain in a disorganized fashion.
He simply activated the Death's Monarch skill and used the Eternal Seal on every one of his summoned monsters.
And at that moment, the atmosphere changed inside the subspace.
The clouds darkened, and an ominous aura of death energy spread out across the landscape, covering the vast expanse.
Dark tendrils of death energy sprouted from the ground suddenly, covering every monster inside a dark cocoon.
The dark cocoons could now be seen all across the map, covering the ice golems, the A-ranked monsters, the bosses, and even the necro lord.
After a few seconds, the cocoons slowly faded away, and new forms appeared.
The general features of every monster changed. They now had dark skins and eyes glowing with death energy, and their ranks had changed.
The D-ranked golems jumped to B-ranks, a significant boost in their power.
Meanwhile, the A-ranked monsters jumped to S-ranks, their strength now on a different level.
The bosses jumped to SS-rank.
The Necrolord, who was already SS-ranked, now knelt on the ground and prayed to the death god, as his strength had officially reached SSS-ranked.
"Holy fuck, they got boosted," Klaus exclaimed, his voice filled with surprise. He could not believe he had just gotten such an overpowered skill.
"Hehehehe," a low chuckle escaped his mouth, a chilling sound of satisfaction.
"Let's greet the demons."
