Devouring Demons in Demon Slayer

"While I was away, Muzan Kibutsuji attacked my home. My family was murdered, and only Nezuko was turned into a demon by Muzan Kibutsuji. But Nezuko has never eaten a human, not before, and never will!"

Tanjiro finished, and Iguro Obanai turned to him with disgust, pointing. "Don't spout such nonsense! Turning a demon back into a human is impossible! You're only protecting her because she's your family! You're not credible! I don't believe you!"

Himejima Gyomei began twisting another rosary, weeping. "Ah~ Possessed by a demon's soul? Let's quickly kill this poor child and release him from his suffering!"

Shinobu looked at Ryuji. Was he protecting Nezuko so desperately to turn her back into a human? Was that even possible? What motivated him? And why Nezuko, not other demons?

"I became a swordsman with Senior Ryuji to cure Nezuko. She's been a demon for over two years! In those two years, Nezuko has never harmed anyone and never shown any desire to eat humans!"

Tanjiro continued his desperate defense.

Uzui Tengen, a man of action, ignored Tanjiro's explanation. "You're just beating around the bush, idiot! If she hasn't eaten humans and won't, prove it!"

Tanjiro looked at Ryuji. His words were useless; it was up to Ryuji.

Ryuji remained impassive, watching the Hashira.

Mitsuri Kanroji, blushing, shyly spoke, "Um… The Master must know about this. Is it really alright for us to handle this ourselves?"

She cautiously looked at the others, clearly afraid of saying the wrong thing.

"Let's wait for the Master," she suggested.

Silence followed.

Seeing Ryuji remain silent, like Giyu Tomioka, Shinobu sighed and asked, "Ryuji, don't you have anything to say?"

"No," Ryuji replied indifferently.

He saw no need to explain. He didn't need their understanding. The worst outcome would be a conflict, making Tanjiro, Nezuko, and himself targets of the Demon Slayer Corps.

He wasn't afraid. They could go their separate ways.

Shinobu chuckled wryly. "You're as difficult as Tomioka!" She glanced at Giyu.

A man with spiky white hair entered the courtyard, his tone unfriendly. "Hey, hey, hey~ I can't miss out on such interesting events!"
