Devouring Demons in Demon Slayer

Chapter 160: DDDS: Chapter 160

However, Ryuji couldn't guarantee the siblings wouldn't encounter more {demons} in the future. He couldn't completely eradicate them.

Even if he could, it would likely have unforeseen consequences on the world, whether good or bad, he couldn't predict.

As the saying goes, "A single thread can unravel the whole tapestry"—and there's truth to that.

Ryuji, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Nezuko, and the three siblings returned to the villa to gather their belongings; the unconscious Inosuke remained outside.

The belongings included items belonging to their parents, valuables they could pawn, money, and their clothes.

Tanjiro's expression was unusually heavy throughout the process, seemingly triggering painful memories. Leaving home with Nezuko, who had become a {demon}, he had gone through a similar process of gathering his family's belongings.

Returning to the room where the siblings' parents had been killed, they found their bodies. Their expressions were filled with despair and terror, a horrifying sight. The most shocking aspect was the gruesome hole in their abdomens, their insides completely devoured by the {demon}.

Ryuji frowned slightly at the scene. Tanjiro gasped, covering Mina's eyes to shield her from the horror.

Zenitsu's face was filled with terror; his body tensed as he clung to Ryuji's clothes, hiding behind him.

Nezuko, despite being a {demon}, showed no reaction to the corpses that should have been her food.

The eldest brother, despite his fear, rushed to his parents' bodies, kneeling and weeping uncontrollably.

His weeping caused his younger siblings to cry as well.

Tanjiro comforted Mina. Once their emotions subsided, he said to Ryuji, "Ryuji-senpai, let's bury Mina's parents."

Ryuji nodded. "Not just their parents, but everyone else in the villa."

Besides the siblings' parents, all the servants had perished. Only the three siblings survived this demon-inflicted tragedy—a fortunate stroke of luck.

Ryuji and Tanjiro worked together, as did Zenitsu and Nezuko, moving the bodies outside.

This took about an hour. Tanjiro chose a suitable burial site and began digging with a shovel from the villa's backyard.

With only two shovels, Tanjiro and Zenitsu dug the graves.

Zenitsu complained of exhaustion after a short time. Ryuji, knowing Zenitsu was trying to slack off, took over and continued digging with Tanjiro.

If they relied on Zenitsu alone, the task would have taken until dawn.
