Chapter 175: Chapter 168: Goddesses' Fury
"ZENKICHI!!!"
Gudako and the others cried out in unison, the desperation in their voices echoing across the battlefield as they watched Zenkichi's body and Brunhilde's Völundr form disintegrate into ashes.
Leon calmly looked upon his work and tilted his head.
"Hmm. Well that ended utterly disappointing. I had expected more of you...." His lips tugged up, revealing a wide smile. "But as expected of me! You, who have killed and absorbed almost all of my kin, it is only right that you die like an insect by me." He flexed his claws, crackling with dark, destructive energy, and his dragonic wings spread wide, their dark diamond-shaped scales sparkling with violent power.
A storm of fire and lightning surrounded him, the intensity of his aura shaking the very air.
"You thought you could challenge the Monster of Pride, the one who stands above all others?!" Leon coldly sneered. "I am the true ruler of existence. You are nothing, all of you are nothing but a speck of atoms! Haaa...."
His voice gradually grew lower as he glanced behind him, seeing a blonde haired woman wearing loose-fitting outfit that momentarily flashed him her very gifted tits, before he was blinded and burned by a beam of light that was as hot as the sun.
Booom!
"Well, well. Wasn't that quite rude to greet a perfect being such as myself?" Leon nonchalantly said as his wings spread outwardly after protecting him from the blast, not a single injury visible on his form. The burning beam of light had scorched the air, but Leon remained unscathed, his arrogance undeterred.
With a chuckle, Leon turned his attention to the woman, who was floating before him with a fiery scowl on her face. Her fists clenched, dripping blood.
"You killed my little brother...." Quetzalcoatl muttered, her eyes glowing with a fierce, burning rage. Her sharp teeth bared as divine flames exuded out of her body like a heatwave from the sun.
The air around her burned, space distorting and shimmering under the oppressive heat radiating from her divine flames.
Quetzalcoatl's golden aura pulsed with raw, celestial power, each beat of her heart intensifying the inferno that surrounded her. The ground beneath her crumbled into molten slag, and the sky above seemed to warp, the sheer force of her rage bending the world around her.
Leon smirked, his crimson eyes narrowing as he observed the display. "A spectacle, truly," he said, his voice mocking, though his claws instinctively flexed. "But do you think fire alone can harm me? I am beyond the gods! I am an existence beyond divinity itself!"
Quetzalcoatl tilted her head, her glowing eyes piercing into him. Her voice dripped with venom, each word a promise of wrath as a God and a big sister. "....If those are your last words, then be prepared for the fury of a God!"
The flames exuding from her exploded outwardly, a tidal wave of golden fire that engulfed the sky and the land in an instant. The heat was suffocating, bending space and reducing the air to an oppressive inferno. Her divine aura became blinding, the sheer intensity of her power radiating outward in crackling arcs of energy.
Leon frowned and braced himself, his wings unfurling to shield him. The golden flames slammed into him, and though his dark aura flared to counter it, the force drove him back. Quetzalcoatl didn't let up and raised her hand, a brilliant pillar of flames erupted around Leon.
The inferno roared like a living beast, and the air was filled with the acrid scent of scorched earth.
Quetzalcoatl's eyes narrowed and she snapped her fingers. "Die!"
The flames exploded with an even more intense heat, the roar of the inferno reaching a deafening crescendo and pierced the heavens—bathing the sky in a golden radiance. The very fabric of reality seemed to ripple under the sheer magnitude of Quetzalcoatl's divine power. The sky turned into a swirling sea of gold and crimson, as if the heavens themselves bore witness to her wrath.
At this moment, Quetzalcoatl looked like the incarnation of wrath itself and snapped her fingers once more.
"Die! Die! Die! Die! Die!"
For every snap of her fingers, the flames surged and exploded with even greater intensity, each burst more powerful and violent than the last. The ground quaked with the fury of her relentless assault, entire sections of the land crumbling into molten slag as rivers of lava erupted and flowed outward.
The inferno formed pillars, spirals, and waves, each cascading down upon Leon with divine vengeance. Every snap echoed like a death knell across the battlefield, carrying her fury and determination to avenge her fallen brother. The sky was painted with blazing gold and crimson, and the once serene heavens now resembled the chaotic wrath of an enraged deity.
".....One final attack," Quetzalcoatl muttered, feeling her energy ebbing as the relentless waves of divine flames continued to pour out from her. Her radiant glow began to dim slightly, her power drained from the sheer magnitude of her assault.
But her resolve did not waver—this would end now.
Clenching her fists, she flexed her body and the tornado of flames that surrounded her body surged once more—and an image of a flaming bird appeared behind her.
She then flew up a 1000 meters up in the sky, the flames around growing brighter and brighter.
"I am the snake! I am the flame!"
As she ascended into the heavens, the flaming bird behind her morphed into a massive serpent wreathed in fire—a divine manifestation of her strength and fury.
"Witness the power of our underworld, Xibalba, and the cataclysmic impact that annihilated countless lives! I shall burn everything away and become the comet that killed the Earth! Ultimo Tope Patada!"
At this moment, Quetzalcoatl no longer cared about anything else but putting an end to the Monster that took lives of both her beloved and new friend.
She channeled the power of the Piedra del Sol from afar as well as drawing upon her lifeforce, increasing the power of her Xiuhcoatl to the point where it replicates — "the cataclysmic impact that annihilated countless lives" becoming "the comet that killed Earth"; in other words, the meteorite that killed the dinosaurs!
An extinction-level attack, killing everything and everyone around her.
She raised her leg high, her entire body a blazing comet of destruction. The flaming serpent coiled around her as she began her descent, her voice carrying the final words of her ultimate attack.
"Burning fighting spirit, Xiuhcoatl!"
She plummeted toward the earth like a divine comet, her body glowing brighter than the sun. The sheer force of her descent tore through the atmosphere, creating a shockwave that spread for miles.
Leon stood below, looking up at her with a nonchalant expression and said,
"By my authority....your flames shall dissipate!"
In an instant, his words reshaped reality itself.
The blazing comet of destruction that was Quetzalcoatl's ultimate attack began to unravel. The radiant flames that consumed her body flickered and dimmed, their unstoppable force seemingly snuffed out like a candle in a storm. The fiery serpent that coiled around her disintegrated into harmless embers, scattering into the wind.
Quetzalcoatl's descent slowed, her body visibly strained as she struggled to push against the invisible force negating her power. Her eyes widened in shock and frustration, her divine flames—her very essence—rendered powerless as she fell into the ground, creating a massive crater that sent shockwaves.
Leon approached the edge of the crater, his towering figure framed by the settling dust. His crimson eyes glinted with triumph as he surveyed the broken goddess. "So, this is the power of a so-called Goddess from a far-away land?"
His voice dripped with disdain. "All that fire, all that fury, reduced to ashes before my authority. Truly, you gods are nothing but illusions of power."
Quetzalcoatl stirred, her body trembling as she pushed herself up on one knee.
Despite the blood dripping from her lips and the bruises marring her once-pristine form, her spirit remained unbroken. Her golden eyes burned with defiance as she glared at Leon.
Leon coldly looked upon her in contempt, "How pitiful...."
"...ou....it...."
Leon furrowed his brows. "Hm? What did you say to me?" he descended down to her and leaned forward. "I can't hear you, God."
".....Do it."
"Hm?!" Leon's eyes shot opened as Quetzalcoatl tackled him to the ground, her hands pressing down his mouth, preventing him from speaking.
But the moment she pinned him down, he reacted with the vicious reflex of a beast cornered—his claws gleaming with bloodlust.
With terrifying speed, Leon drove his claws deep into Quetzalcoatl's sides, his sharp talons slicing through her divine flesh. The force of the strike tore through her like a blade through paper, and the golden fire that once swirled around her began to flicker, fading with each brutal strike.
Quetzalcoatl gritted her teeth, her golden eyes flashing with unyielding fury as the pain from the strikes shot through her body. Despite the blood spilling from her wounds, she refused to let go, her body trembling but her grip on him tightening.
Suddenly, a golden beam of light pierced through the clouds.
"Light, may you be released from the ends of the world."
Quetzalcoatl smiled bloodily. "Don't hesitate....amiga...."
"Split the heavens and tether the earth, anchor of the storm!"
Up in the sky, the clouds parted as a golden spiral descended down with lightning speed. Inside of that golden spiral was a figure riding a white horse—Altria, her determined teary eyes locked onto Quetzalcoatl below. She griped her lance tightly.
With a single, resolute cry, she thrust Rhongomyniad down at Quetzalcoatl and the pinned Leon. "Rhongomyniad!"
The earth shook, as a golden light blinded all.
