Chapter 12: Know Thy Enemy
-PIRATES!!! – The mailman screams at the top of his lungs.
He pulls out a transponder snail while dashing towards the little boat docked near the shack. He's pretty quick for a mailman.
-Fuck, don't let him call the Marines! – William screams as he starts moving to subdue the panicking witness.
But before he could even leave the shack, Pearl tackles the mailman surprisingly fast. She knocks the transponder snail out of his hand before he could complete the call and holds him in a judo lock.
William and Verona take a sigh of relief only to see Ragnar and Duros come out of the forest with their provisions.
-Hey guys. We heard all the screaming. Is everything alright? – Duros asks.
-You'll be in so much shit when Captain Marrow finds out you killed his father!! – The mailman barks as he struggles to get out of Pearl's lock with no success.
-Shut up or I'll break your arm! – Pear threatens the young man tightening her grip making him grunt in pain.
-Come on now, Pearl. There is no need for that. – Duros says calmly as he approaches them – And what's all that about killing someone's father? Could you explain it to me, Captain?
William doesn't know if Duros wants him to feel threatened by his inquisitive words. But it sure makes him feel a little bit perturbed, no matter the intent.

-So this Marrow guy that has the power of a Devil Fruit is gonna come after us because we accidentally killed his father...
Ragnar says, summarizing William's story as he digs a grave for the old man. Duros and Pearl managed to convince the captain to at least give this poor soul a slightly dignified burial. William was pretending to just leave him there on the floor.
-Yeah, but we may have to deal with his Lieutenant first. What was his name? It was a silly one… – William asks himself as he goes through the letters on the mailman's bag. None of them have any significant information they could use.
-Lieutenant Hubris… The Captain put him in charge of taking tolls around this area. – The mailman says with his head low and a defeated voice.
-Yep! That one. – William responds.
-CHAHAHA! No matter who it is, I'll take them head-on! – Ragnar says enthusiastically right after finishing the grave. Duros carries the old man's body and places him gently inside it.
-You say that now, but you low life pirates have no chance against Captain Marrow!
-We'll see about that… – Ragnar smiles at the provocation.
-Before we can think about fighting a guy that has the power of a Devil Fruit, let's get one first, shall we? – William says signaling for them to return to the Yogi Pooh so they can continue their journey to the treasure island.
