Deva Wizard: The Great Xian in King Arthur's Realm

Chapter 35: Magic Communication Stone

Wasting no time, Matin went straight to his office. He wanted to prove if what happened just a moment ago was caused by his small alphabet user or not. Although in his mind he was more than fifty percent sure that it was Elen, he needed to see it by himself.

Shortly, he arrived at Merlin’s room.

As soon as Matin opened the door, the scene he beheld almost made him weak at his knees. His eyes were wide open, and his heart was beating irregularly fast.

What Matin was seeing was the body of the boy he knew; however, that red cloak was decorated with fine green patterns shining power out so brilliantly. The green alphabet patterns were glittering and moving like they were alive.

An immense amount of powerful aura came out of the child’s body.

Matin could not believe his eyes; because of this astonishment, he could not do anything. Never once in his life had he thought that other than Theodore, the Holy Priest of the Church of Light, Elen would be another green-level alphabet user that he had a chance to meet.

“Is this really you…sir Elen? You have succeeded in green-level cultivation.”

Matin’s voice was full of excitement.

Merlin smiled and answered, “Yes, I have just accomplished it.”

The boy said in an indifferent tone. His character and manners were too formidable for his age; even Matin could not do that. His emotionless words were uttered again.

Merlin took a deep breath and said majestically,

“Bring the crystal in your office to me.”

Hearing that, Matin made a pondering face and asked,

“Do you mean the crystal decoration on my desk? What are you going to do with it?”

“Just do as I said. Do not question me.” Merlin answered and looked at him icily.

Because of that brief talk, Matin was scared to breathe heavily. His whole body turned cold; he bowed and walked out to do what Merlin ordered.

Despite the questions in his head, Matin could not risk irritating the little boy. And with Elen’s identity as a green-level alphabet user now, he was too scared to not follow his orders.

Even if he was ordered to walk on fire or go into the water, Matin would gladly do it.

Shortly, he came back with the huge crystal.

Merlin drew his hand towards his body slowly; then the crystal in Matin’s hand flew to his front.

Floating and rotating in the air, that big crystal was being controlled.

Merlin looked at the crystal and quickly observed it. After a short while, he started doing something.

His left hand was pushed to the front.

Suddenly, a bunch of green alphabet letters appeared; they surrounded and covered the crystal up.

This magical alphabet turned into the shape of small magical hoops encircling the place.

When Merlin moved his hand again, several beams dashed out of the hoops.

Colorful beams appeared in straight lines; their ends hit the nearby magical hoops causing fine reflections as if they were nicely arranged.

Merlin used his other hand to move the crystal as he wished.

This process seemed complicated, but Merlin could do it quickly.

Those rays cut through the crystal like they were cutting soft tofu; those cuts were impressively sharp and neat.

Finally, that crystal was perfectly turned into two rectangular prisms.

Merlin took a deep breath and stuck his palms together.

Those magical hoops suddenly disappeared.

But it seemed like his process was not done yet. His hands were still moving adeptly around; there appeared in front of him the magical alphabet and intricate magical hoops.

The green light flowing in those magical hoops demonstrated the peerless power of the green alphabet, which was mystic and powerful.

Suddenly, an innumerable archaic alphabet flew up from the hoops.

Merlin flicked his hand once; that alphabet moved to the crystal that was just cut into two rectangles.

Light was flashing all over the room.

Merlin was making a magical item.

It was well-known that the magical items made by the green-level alphabet users were undoubtedly powerful and inimitably mighty. Everyone in this world desired to have them.

Matin could not help feeling excited with the scene before him. His face was painted with a smile.

Finally, the two rectangular stones shined out green light sparklingly as if it were moonlight. It was so brilliant that ordinary human beings would not be able to see it.

When the light was fading, the magical hoops together with the alphabet vanished leaving only the two stones giving off the soft green glow behind.

“What is he making?” There was a question in Matin’s mind; he could not help but wonder. From the beginning to the end, the only thing he did was keep his mouth wide open looking at Merlin’s magical instrument.

Immediately after the magical-item-making process was done, Merlin softly shook his hand to the front; one stone flew to stop in front of Matin.

“Keep it,” said Merlin in his emotionless voice.

“Thank you, Sir Elen.” Matin quickly grabbed that stone. He had no idea what it was for but if a green-level alphabet user made it, it must be really special.

Merlin stared at Matin then closed his eyes,

“You must be wondering what it is for. This is a magical communication device in the form of a stone.” The kid closed his eyes and said it. He was now balancing his magical power because creating a magical tool required a lot of magical power. Although he used the power-restoring potion, it was no exception.

Using too much magical power caused the power in his body to fluctuate; his heart was overworked which made him easily exhausted. So, he needed to re-balance the magical power inside.

“Magical communication device?” Despite having received the answers from the small alphabet user, Matin’s face was still filled with questions.

“Correct, it is a magical communication device. Watch this carefully; I will show you how to use it.” The boy opened his eyes while controlling the other stone to come into his hand.

“Transfer your magical power into the stone; then draw the symbol carved on the other stone. After that, write the message you want to send and press it on your stone.”

Merlin described while demonstrating it to Matin. From beginning to end, he did not use his wand to draw an alphabet or a letter once. Flicking his hand, he could already create a message in the air.

When the whole message was sent into the stone in the boy’s hand, the one in Matin’s hand shone. Merlin looked at him again then said,

“Transfer the magical power into the stone in your hand.”

Matin followed his order willingly; he transferred the magical power into the stone. Suddenly green light shined out of it; the message Merlin had written down appeared in front of him.

It was floating in the air and at the top, it was the symbol of Merlin’s stone.

“Thank you, Sir Elen. I understand everything now; I will use it nicely.” Matin was happy that he got this magical tool because the main difficulty between him and Merlin was that they lost contact.

Merlin usually vanished for a long time; when the shop had problems, nobody could reach Merlin.

This stone would fix these problems.

“It is a pity that I have just achieved the green-level zone; that means we could only send written messages. But when my power is stable, I will give you a better communication device.” Merlin chose to tell Matin only a half-truth because, in fact, he was not completely a green-level alphabet user.

“Yes sir. I still have one more question.” Matin seemed hesitant in front of Merlin. He felt like the persona of this little alphabet user was now different from the past.

In the past, the child was only a blue-level alphabet user and he was already respectable. But now he had advanced to the green level. It could be said that he was a peer to the Church of Light’s leader who was also a green-level alphabet user. His identity, therefore, was beyond formidable. Being at the green level was likely to be respected by people throughout the world.

“Go on…” Merlin answered monotonously. He still kept his calm.

“I could use it to directly contact you, right?” Matin poured his worries out. Because the thing he was afraid of the most was not being able to contact Merlin.

“That is the main point I gave this device to you.”

Matin smiled when he heard that because his glorious life was no longer dependent on him but on this young alphabet user.

“I will be leaving again tomorrow and I will be gone for a long time. The goods for selling have already been prepared.” Merlin slightly moved his hand and the box on the desk flew into Matin’s hand.

Matin opened it up and he found countless magical rings in there. Surely, he could identify what was in them.

His tiny alphabet user had already prepared tons of potions for his business,

After handing the box to Matin, Merlin continued,

“If something happens, use this thing to contact me. You can go now.”

“Yes, Sir Elen.” Said Matin before he stepped back out of the room.

A while after Matin left, the duration of Merlin’s green magical alphabet was gone.

The power of the green alphabet instantly disappeared; it might take a while for him to be able to use it again.

When the morning came, Merlin set off right away without saying goodbye to anyone.

Merlin changed his outfit; he was wearing an ashy white cloak with a white wooden mask covering the bottom half of his face leaving his sharp eyes to see.

Now he was almost an all-white human because everything: his cloak, mask, hair, and eyebrows, was in white color.

That white frame leaped up in the sky quickly. That speed seemed like a comet.

On the way, Merlin looked down and he saw a lot of beasts. But they were all at low levels; sure enough, they were not in his eyes.

It took him seven days to travel from Duke Cowe’s city to Waldecian city. Traveling in this era was very difficult.

Mostly, they had to use animals to transport. Now and then, there were people who used huge magical tools to fly, such as an airship.

Also, some people used dimensional magic to go through places to travel. But people who could use this kind of magic were rare; plus, using a magical dimension brought about a lot of conditions, for instance, a contract regarding borders of kingdoms which blocked the dimensional magic from passing through each kingdom’s border.

The rules for dimensional magic were very strict. If someone did not listen, the kingdom’s dimensional-magic user might destroy the dimensions’ variation, which would result in that user getting stuck in his or her own dimension forever.

So, the convenience of this magic came with dreadful risks; using dimensional magic, such as a dimension-shifting machine, to travel past the borders, therefore, needed to get permission from each kingdom’s officer first.

Using a dimension-shifting machine was a very complicated, and expensive process.

If it was not really necessary, this machine was rarely turned on.

So, walking or riding animals were the most popular transportation modes.

It was a great thing that Merlin had achieved the stem-building stage. He was able to fly so his transportation was convenient and fast.

Suddenly in the middle of his flying, a strange situation happened.

Merlin looked down; he found a child dressed in worn-out clothes with pustules all over the body. That kid was carrying a basket full of herbs on his back.

The boy was being chased by a beast.

In that critical moment, the kid ran out of luck stumbling on tree roots; he fell down with his face hitting the ground.

The monster looked at him with a big appetite; it jumped at him.

Merlin pitied the child while watching the scene.

“Seems like this habit of mine is unfixable,” Merlin mumbled to himself; suddenly,

BOOM!

Xian vital essence was released in the form of an attack. That beast was only at the second level which was sadly low.

In Merlin’s eyes, only a tiny amount of his Xian vital essence could end this beast’s life. With one attack, its carcass bounced off more than ten meters.

Merlin flew down and walked to the child; it seemed like he passed out.

Merlin sighed and shook his head; he used his hand to pick up the back of the boy’s collar and immediately flew up.

Before he saw the kid, Merlin noticed that there was a small village when he was flying. He guessed that this child had to be from that place because there was no other village other than that one.

When he helped someone, he had to do it to the end, Merlin was not so mean that he would leave the child lying unconscious in the middle of the forest. So, he decided to carry this boy and send him to the village.
