Detective Conan: I'm a Succubus?!

Chapter 50: Chapter 050: Sonoko Family Villa

 『Ding! Check-in successful. Congratulations, host, you have received: 'Updraft Iv1 '! 』

『Updraft: Allows the host to control an airflow, particularly effective for... lifting skirts. 』

Akashi blinked at the notification in his mind, his face a mix of incredulity and disappointment.

'"What a useless skill..." ' he muttered internally before succumbing to sleep.

---

As he drifted off, a warm, soft body leaned closer and wrapped itself around the little shota.

In his sleep, Akashi instinctively shifted, finding the coziest position imaginable, and unconsciously absorbed the yin energy radiating from the embrace.

For him, it was a blissful, deep slumber.

For Eri, however, it was a sleepless night of turmoil.

Her earlier efforts to calm herself with a splash of cold water had been undone the moment she lay beside him.

And to her dismay, the small hand Akashi rested on her just so happened to be his right hand—the one capable of delivering 'critical hits'.

Her carefully composed thoughts unraveled again, spiraling into chaos.

Though the frequency of critical strikes was thankfully low when he was asleep, each rare instance sent an inexplicable wave of sensation through her.

By the time the Queen of Law finally fell asleep, her dreams were vividly... colorful.

---

The sound of the doorbell cut through the quiet morning like a rude intruder.

Eri, groggy and visibly exhausted, groaned as she sat up.

Her light blue nightgown had slipped slightly off her shoulder, and she tugged it back absently.

Beside her, Akashi stirred, opening his eyes to see her disheveled appearance.

"Auntie Eri," he said, rubbing his eyes, "why do you have such dark circles under your eyes?"

Eri shot him a sideways glance, her exhaustion mingling with exasperation.

'Isn't it obvious, you little troublemaker?' she thought, but she said nothing, too tired to argue.

The doorbell rang again, breaking the moment.

"I'll get it," Akashi offered, hopping out of bed in his black-striped pajamas. "You should rest."

Eri, too weary to argue, collapsed back onto the bed and instantly dozed off again.

---

Akashi padded to the door and opened it, revealing a pair of visitors—and their strikingly long legs.

Standing before him were two girls. One had on black knee-high socks paired with a yellow skirt, a black shirt, and a red jacket. Her short black hair framed a face that radiated a certain charm.

The other girl, sporting a blue shirt and white shorts that showed off her toned legs, had a headband holding back her short brown hair. Her bright green eyes and slim figure made her immediately stand out.

Akashi instantly recognized them both.

Ran stood confidently in her fashionable outfit, while beside her was 'Suzuki Sonoko', her best friend and the second daughter of the Suzuki family.

Before Akashi could even process their arrival, Ran's face lit up, and she swept him into a warm hug.

"See, Sonoko? I told you I wasn't lying!" she exclaimed. "Isn't my little brother Akashi absolutely adorable?"

Sonoko's eyes widened as she took in Akashi's sleepy, pajama-clad figure.

"Oh my gosh, he's 'adorable '! Way cuter than that boy with glasses who's always tagging along!"

Behind them, a certain bespectacled boy struggled to carry several large bags, glaring in irritation.

Conan, thoroughly annoyed, muttered under his breath, "I 'have ' a name, you know! It's 'Edogawa Conan '! Show some respect!"

His irritation only deepened when Ran spun Akashi around in her arms, clearly delighted.

---

The more Sonoko looked at Akashi, the cuter she found him. She couldn't resist leaning forward with open arms.

"Come on, let me give you a hug! Just one hug!"

She reached out eagerly, aiming to scoop up the little shota.

But Ran, quick as ever, tightened her hold on Akashi and took a long step away. Without even glancing back, she made her way directly to the back room.

There was no way she was handing Akashi over to someone else—not even Sonoko.

"Ran, you're so stingy!" Sonoko pouted. "It's just a hug! It's not like I'm going to eat him or anything!"

Ran ignored her friend's protests, turning instead to ask Akashi, "Where's Mom?"

Akashi responded, "She's still sleeping. She seemed really tired."

Ran walked to the bedroom door but didn't open it.

"Mom! I'm taking Akashi to Sonoko's Family Villa as planned!" she called.

A groggy voice came from inside. "Mmm... I packed all of Akashi's things. His bag is in the next room. Ran, make sure you take good care of him."

Hearing this, Ran smiled and replied, "Got it, Mom!"

She headed to the adjacent room, grabbing the bag that Eri had prepared.

Before long, she had whisked Akashi into the bathroom to help him wash up.

---

Ran's care for Akashi was meticulous—far more doting than what most people would do for a younger sibling.

Watching this, Conan, seated nearby, felt a surge of jealousy.

---

Soon after, everyone was ready and headed downstairs. The group piled into a taxi bound for Sonoko's family villa, nestled in the countryside's lush forest—a perfect getaway for a weekend escape.

Inside the taxi, Ran kept Akashi close, her protective hold on him unyielding.

Sonoko couldn't help but comment, "Really, Ran, do you have to cling to him like he's some kind of national treasure? Let him breathe!"

Ran didn't budge.

"You're holding onto him so tightly," Sonoko continued, "it's like you've completely forgotten why we're going to the villa!"

Ran looked genuinely confused. "What do you mean?"

Sonoko's eyes sparkled with excitement as she clasped her hands dramatically. "The whole point of this trip is to experience the romance of being in nature! A love affair under the stars!"

Her enthusiasm was palpable, but Ran simply rolled her eyes.

"If that's what you're after, go ahead and find it yourself. I'm just here to let Akashi have some fun!"

"Right, Akashi?" Ran said, gently nudging Akashi with a playful smile.

Sonoko sighed theatrically. "Fine, fine. No romance for you. But it's a shame your detective boy didn't tag along. At least he could've been a topic of interest!"

Conan, seated in the front passenger seat, flushed bright red.

"Ha! Mégane kid, why are you embarrassed, so weird." Sonoko pointed out.

Conan awkwardly scratched his head, trying to hide his discomfort.

Ran, still unfazed, blinked in confusion. After a moment, her expression cleared.

"Oh, you mean Shinichi?" she said casually. "That's a family friend thing; it's got nothing to do with me. Honestly, if you hadn't brought him up, I would've forgotten about him entirely."

Conan slumped in his seat, visibly deflated hearing her words.

Ran, however, remained cheerful. "I don't have time to worry about him. My priority is taking care of Akashi. That's my job as his big sister. Isn't that right, Akashi?"

She reached over to ruffle Akashi's hair, her affection evident.

Conan, watching from the front, felt an ominous sense of crisis.

This kid, with his innocent demeanor, had completely captured Ran's attention—and Conan wasn't sure how to deal with it.

Sonoko, meanwhile, shook her head with a laugh.

"These two just met not long ago, and already, they're this close," she said, amused.
