"You know, robbing a bank isn't simple. It requires meticulous planning, and by the time that plan is made, we'd all starve to death. So let's first solve our current food problem, then we can discuss that issue." Mu Tianyuan waved his hand at the little fox, then said, "Besides pancakes, I plan to use the flour to make some steamed buns, twisted rolls, noodles, and dough drop soup. I reckon that should last us a week."

Then Mu Tianyuan looked smugly at the little fox and Catwoman. "I'm telling you, when I was in the army, I worked in the mess hall. The mess hall's squad leader was a master at making pastries. I secretly learned from him for a whole week."

"Your skills aren't as terrible as the sketches you learned from your comrades, are they?" The little fox asked Mu Tianyuan skeptically. Mu Tianyuan's sketching ability had left a deep impression on her. If Mu Tianyuan's pastry-making skills were as bad as his sketching, the little fox thought they might as well go beg for food!

"Of course not!" Mu Tianyuan said, looking a little embarrassed, but then the little fox suddenly wagged her tail and said, "Wait, didn't you brag to me before that you were a scout? How did you become a mess hall cook now? Are you reliable or not? By the way, were you actually at a military farm when you were in the army?"

"Go to hell! I was a genuine scout, alright! Even though I only served two years, I was a scout!" Mu Tianyuan, though unreliable in other matters, would never lie about this. He grew agitated when the little fox questioned him. The little fox then looked Mu Tianyuan over and said, "Are you saying that now, even mess hall cooks are considered proper scouts?"

"Get out of here! I was a real scout, alright." Mu Tianyuan rolled his eyes in response, then, without waiting for the little fox to ask further, Mu Tianyuan himself revealed the truth: "It was like this: I made a small mistake back then, and then my company commander kicked me to the mess hall for a week to experience life..."

"Although I don't know what you, this clown, did, I sincerely believe your company commander was merciful for only making you stay in the mess hall for a week instead of kicking you to the farm." The little fox, never one to miss an opportunity to mock Mu Tianyuan, immediately expressed her deep regret.

What the little fox didn't expect was that Mu Tianyuan, upon hearing this, calmly said, "What's wrong with a farm? It's not like I haven't been to one."

"You actually stayed on a farm?" The little fox asked, surprised. Mu Tianyuan nodded without hesitation and replied, "Yeah, after I came back from the mess hall, I made another small mistake within two weeks. But this time, it wasn't my company commander who kicked me; it was our regimental commander. Then I stayed on the farm for a week. Otherwise, how could I have raised you and Maple Leaf so well? This is all experience I gained from scientifically raising animals on the farm!"

"Go to hell! You were raising pigs! I don't believe military farms can teach people how to raise cats and foxes!" The little fox instantly understood that Mu Tianyuan was indirectly insulting her and Catwoman. She immediately pounced and fiercely scratched Mu Tianyuan's knee. Then, after pondering for a moment about Mu Tianyuan's rich military life, the little fox looked at Mu Tianyuan and said, "...By the way, I probably know how you were discharged from the army now. Did you make another small mistake within two weeks of returning from the farm, and then your brigade commander directly kicked you out of the army?"

"No, I was just a small soldier back then. By the time I packed up my bags to go home, I hadn't even seen what our brigade commander looked like. How could I have offended him?" Mu Tianyuan shrugged and replied. Then Mu Tianyuan waved his hand at the little fox. "Alright, I won't tell you about my glorious achievements of messing up everything in the army back then. I'll tell you about them when I can't sleep someday. For now, let's consider our living situation."

"What's there to consider? Aren't you going to show off your skills learned from secretly observing the mess hall cooks?" The little fox said, burying herself in the blanket and rolling her eyes. Mu Tianyuan said helplessly, "At first, we thought we'd get by for half a month, but now we have to survive another half month, so we have to figure out a way to earn some money, right? What if it's another half month after this week?"

"Uh... then how do you plan to earn money?" The little fox became serious after hearing Mu Tianyuan's words. After all, who the hell knew what date it would be after a week!

"I'm planning to find a part-time job." Mu Tianyuan shrugged. Before, when he had a small but decent living allowance each month, he naturally had no intention of working. But now that he was out of money, he had to find a part-time job. Fortunately, these part-time jobs seemed quite easy to find, hmm... probably...

Then Mu Tianyuan looked at the little fox and Catwoman. "You guys wait for me, I'll change clothes and then we'll go out."

"Go out now?" The little fox glanced at the sky outside, surprised. Mu Tianyuan walked upstairs, saying, "Yeah."

Ten minutes later, the little fox poked her head out of the backpack Mu Tianyuan was carrying, looked up at the place in front of them, and twitched her lips as she looked at Mu Tianyuan. "You came here to find a part-time job? Are you sure they need part-timers here?"

They saw a three-story building in front of Mu Tianyuan, with a sign hanging above it—Mouri Detective Agency!

The little fox was too familiar with this place. They passed by here at least twice a day on average, and before, they had to go in at least three days a week. Not to mention that they came more frequently now that they had no money for food. So, based on the little fox's understanding of this place, how could it possibly be hiring part-timers?!

"What are you talking about? We're here to eat, alright? If I don't eat, do you want me to look for a part-time job on an empty stomach?" Mu Tianyuan retorted righteously to the little fox, glaring at her disdainfully. The little fox rolled her eyes. "Didn't you say before that you were too embarrassed to constantly mooch meals here?"

"I don't constantly come here!" Mu Tianyuan continued to retort righteously. The little fox, hearing this, immediately glared at him disdainfully. "Yes, you don't constantly come here. At most, you've only come five days this week!"

Mu Tianyuan: "But there are still two days I haven't come, right?"

Little Fox: "Because today is Friday!"

Mu Tianyuan: "...It's cold outside, hurry back into the bag with Maple Leaf!"

After another satisfying meal and drink at Uncle Mouri's place, Mu Tianyuan tossed the drunken Uncle Mouri into his bedroom, then looked at Conan nearby. "By the way, Conan, you're always idling around on the streets. Can I ask you something?"

Conan: "..." Damn it, who's always idling around on the streets?!

Although Conan was unwilling to admit what Mu Tianyuan said, Conan eventually decided to ask what Mu Tianyuan wanted to inquire about. But before Conan could speak, Mu Tianyuan, who didn't care whether Conan agreed or not, asked, "I want to ask you something. Do you know where I can find a part-time job? My requirements aren't high. Preferably easy work, generous pay, flexible hours, and a pretty boss. Just help me find one, and when I earn money, I'll buy you candy."

"Uh..." Conan first froze when he heard Mu Tianyuan's words, then began to roll his dead fish eyes. Damn it, if there was such a part-time job, would I recommend it to you? I'd go myself, alright!

Hmm, it's not like there aren't any. Why don't you try Kabukicho? There should be jobs that meet your requirements there! If worst comes to worst, with your handsome face, you could even go film those kinds of movies there! Maybe with your pretty boy looks, you could even become a huge star and be loved by countless frustrated women! See, it also meets your requirements, right? And at least you'd be an actor, which sounds respectable, right? Provided you don't mention what kind of movies you're filming!

Just as Conan was silently grumbling about Mu Tianyuan, Ran came over. Mu Tianyuan immediately pulled Ran aside and started asking. At first, Ran wasn't too bothered when she heard Mu Tianyuan was looking for a part-time job, as many of her classmates also had part-time jobs. But when Ran heard Mu Tianyuan's requirements for the job, her eyes turned into dots, then she chuckled awkwardly at Mu Tianyuan, "Um... I don't know either..."

In the end, Ran still provided Mu Tianyuan with a piece of information: she had heard from a female classmate today that the convenience store where she worked seemed to be hiring. And Ran happened to know the location of that convenience store, so she told Mu Tianyuan. Although it didn't meet any of Mu Tianyuan's requirements and was a bit far, Mu Tianyuan still decided to go check it out. So, after thanking Ran, Mu Tianyuan bid farewell and planned to apply for a part-time job at that convenience store.

After leaving the Mouri Detective Agency, Mu Tianyuan chatted with the little fox and Catwoman as he walked through the streets towards his destination. As they passed a small alley, a man in his twenties suddenly appeared in front of them, blocking Mu Tianyuan's path. Then the man very politely said to Mu Tianyuan, "Kid, lend me some money to spend. Don't worry, I'll pay you back."

"...Are you robbing me?" Mu Tianyuan asked cautiously after a long silence. The man chuckled when he heard Mu Tianyuan's words. "I'm not robbing you. I'm just borrowing money from you."

Mu Tianyuan was silent for a long time, then suddenly laughed. "Then you've really found the right person."

The man was startled when Mu Tianyuan suddenly laughed. He had robbed—no, extorted—no, borrowed money so many times, but this was the first time he had met someone who could still laugh! Could this guy be an idiot?

At this moment, Mu Tianyuan appeased the little fox and Catwoman, who were about to come out and help. He then slung the backpack, which he had been holding in his arms, onto his back, then smiled at the man and said, "Come, let me show you a magic trick. Don't blink, because this will be a moment to witness a miracle."
