Chapter 33: Value of Using Aoi
“Iiiee… ah…”
Aoi’s blood was drawn into the last syringe before the needle was roughly pulled out of her neck. A small amount of blood momentarily spurted out, after which fresh blood quietly flowed out from the fresh injection spot with a plop sound.
“So this is… the last of it. This amount of blood should be enough.”
Aoi’s body was covered with holes by the time the multiple syringes containing her blood were gathered in a pile. Fresh blood was gushing out of the holes… injection marks and Aoi’s complexion had changed to a pale, lifeless appearance without any blood. According to a saying, a person’s life would be in jeopardy should they lose one-third of their blood, but judging by the mass of syringes containing her blood, it might have exceeded that by a wide margin.
Regardless, it didn’t matter. After all, Aoi was nothing more than a consumable part and component for Akane. Even if she were to be broken, it wouldn’t be a major problem. As long as she served her purpose, what would happen to her was of no importance.
“…Uh… ah…”
Due to a significant quantity of blood loss, Aoi, sprawled on the floor and struggling to breathe, appeared to be in a daze. In a nutshell, she was suffering from severe anemia… and may even be on the verge of a life-threatening situation.
“I appreciate your cooperation, Aoi. Your pure blood will now circulate through your sister… Akane’s body and become the foundation for beauty. Your soul will carry on living inside your sister.”
While kicking Aoi’s feet as she rolled on the floor, I gave her the bare minimum of gratitude. Indeed, I was grateful to Aoi who had fulfilled her last role. However, at the same time, it was equally a sure sign that my interest in Aoi, whose role had ended, had vanished.
“With… this… I… can… return?”
Aoi directed her hoarse voice at me and clung to the tiniest glimmer of hope. She genuinely thought that she would be sent home. I was amazed at her immature and childish mindset. Her role has already come to an end. Now that she has learned where the world of only Akane and me existed, I had no alternative but to have Aoi meet her demise.
Nevertheless, a feeling that it would be inefficient to end Aoi’s life at this place started to eventually take root in my heart. For Akane, Aoi was an invaluable kin and her only sister. Depending on how to use her… torture or humiliation might be more effective and brutal than mere pain and suffering.
Humans, according to people, would suffer more if their loved ones were hurt than from being hurt themselves. Taking this into consideration… this girl, Fukiyama Aoi, was still useful. There was still value enough to give her a role.
Furthermore, while simple components and pieces could be replaced, Akane’s immediate family members could not. The number of them was limited and they certainly could not be discarded so easily.
“No, I can’t afford to let you leave just yet.”
In gratitude to Aoi for providing me with clean blood, I decided to allocate her a further role and have her do one more task for me. And I would allow her to remain in this… world of just me and Akane until she completed her last task.
I grasped Aoi’s hair as she was lying on the ground, then looked into her eyes and questioned her. Her eyes already lacked vitality.
“I have one last request for you, Aoi. What’s with that look? It’s not a complicated task. Can you do it?”
“Huh…?”
Without even waiting for Aoi’s reply, I put a dog collar around her pale and discolored neck. I didn’t give a damn that Aoi coughed in pain as I choked her with the collar and took away her freedom.
“Gah…”
“Now, let’s go to your sister’s place. And… you will be working to the end for your sister’s sake… just like the little sister you are.”
Dragging Aoi, who was struggling to breathe, I headed downstairs to the garage—to Akane’s place.
