Chapter 345: Tricky Vampires.

She said, "I'm sorry. But that's how far I can help you with this matter."

He was satisfied. He said, "Thank you for your help. This much is good enough already."

"But I have other questions, and I don't want to take much of your time. Is it appropriate to keep asking you since you're the superior commander of the army?"

She replied with a smile, "Do not worry. I am currently attending to my duties in the army just as I am speaking with you. I have divided my body in a way so I can do both things at once. I won't be able to continue in this state forever, but I can manage for a while."

He decided to ask her if demigods can reach him in the core of the world. The question was at the tip of his tongue, but he hesitated to ask it.

He hesitated because he doesn't trust her. He doesn't think that it is inappropriate not to trust her because he has no reason to trust her.

She isn't loyal to him, so he has no reason to trust her. If there is someone she is loyal to, it is to the paragon and the paragon can be anyone.

She can help him easily just as she can help anyone from Earth easily to become the paragon. If he tells her something very important and she rats him out to someone like Raijin, he would be in big trouble.

Now that he knows the value of what it means to be the paragon, he also understands how precarious his situation is.

He thought it wise not to tell a demigod he just met where he is hiding and ask her if it is secure. So he changed his question.

"You asked me earlier if this expedition will be easy. I want to know what you think about the expedition. I want to know why we have a true god hiding in the army. Are things that bad?"

She chuckled when she heard his question. "It is just like you said; the vampire civilization has been a thorn in the side of the Yggdrasil civilization. Nothing related to them can be easy. If things were so easy, we would have defeated them a long time ago."

"This expedition should be easy because this world is a recent outpost for the vampire civilization. They just came here, and the ones that did are generally weak."

"We are certain that there is no true god among them, or this world would have been conquered a long time ago. The kunuts won't be able to resist the power of a true god at all."

"But we suspect that they have something that has the power of a false god. If they don't have it, they must be currently building it. That's how the vampire race invades worlds. So we had to bring a false god of our own for the expedition."

He said, "Wait a minute. You're saying the mothership is a false god, or is there another false god that I don't know about in the army?"

"It is the former. The mothership is a false god. Even if it were the latter and we had a hidden false god, I wouldn't tell you. That's top-secret information. So don't ask."

He sighed in relief and said, "That's good. I thought for a moment there that we had two gods. That would make things worse than I expected."

She said, "Things would indeed be bad if we had two gods. My life will definitely be in more danger than I expected too."

He asked, "I've heard you mention it several times, but I don't know. What's the difference between a true god and a false god?"

She thought for a while before replying. "A false god is an entity that is only part of a god. They are lacking a lot of things compared to a true god, but what they do have is a power that can rival that of a true god for a while."

"False gods can't grow stronger. False gods also don't have immortality. They are incomplete gods, which is why they are also called half gods."

"If a false god is injured and near death, a bunch of demigods can gang up on it and kill it. But if a true god is injured and near death, the best we can do is destroy a part of that true god."

He was enlightened by what she said. Wrath had said something similar about true gods and false gods.

Dancing flower continued. She pointed to the direction of the base and said, "If that mothership were a true god, then it would be the outer shell of the true god that the true god uses to interact with the world, and it will be part of the true god that we can see and interact with."

"But since the mothership is a false god, its current body is all that there is to it. If we destroy it, we can kill it. It won't be easy to destroy it, though. Probably only another false god or true god can destroy it."

Kelvin chewed on that piece of information before he asked another question, "So the vampires have something like a false god or are in the process of building it. Is their ability to build false gods why they are so difficult to deal with?"

She shook her head. "Vampires are difficult to deal with because they enslave other races and because they are hard to kill."

"A single primordial vampire can turn this world upside down. What's more, primordial vampires are so difficult to kill that only a true god or a special demigod like me can kill them."

"It is because vampires are connected to a certain powerful being. They call the being the Blood Ancestor. That being retrieves their soul when they die and creates another body for them."

"If we want to defeat the vampires, we have to destroy the Blood Ancestor. It is the source of their immortality. And if the vampires and years of research are to be believed, the Blood Ancestor is their parent."
