Gray Pov.

"Trapinch" trapinch called out then clacked its jaws

Gray held out the Oran berry.

"This is for you. I imagine you're hungry."

Trapinch took the berry and ate it. he looked up at Gray with a determined look. "Trap Trapinch" he said as a thanks.

Gray watched as trapinch ate the berry.

"You're welcome. from now on you will be in my care. I want to be powerful much like my father and my grandpa. As you are from my grandpa you are probably one of my grandpas Flygon's children. Just this fact means you and I are meant for greatness. Please join me and maybe one day you will surpass your parents."

A grin spread across trapinch's mouth and with determination he said "TRAP TRAPINCH" as if to say he garenteed it.

"Great I can work with that enthusiasm. For now, I need to scan you, so I know what moves you know." Gray pulled out his phone and opened the dex app and scanned Trapinch

'Trapinch the ant pit pokemon.'

'Trapinch's nest is a sloped bowl-like pit dug in sand. The pokemon waits for prey to tumble down the pit. The giant jaws have the strength to crush even boulders.'

'Known moves - Sand Attack, Astonish, Bite, Feint'

"That's a good set of moves to start with. Let us do a light warmup. First off, we need to stretch."

Gray then began to stretch showing off to Trapinch.

Trapinch stared at Gray as he stretched then tried to mimic Gray. Being a quadruped brought its challenges to this exercise.

Gray noticed then started to laugh.

"Let me help you." between laughs

After Gray stopped laughing, he helped correct Trapinch to the best of his ability guiding him to stretch out but not very efficiently.

"I am not the best for now, but I'll do some research on how to best help you with stretches. Next, we shall go on a short jog to help you build stamina I'll join you to help build stamina as well we will both need it me for walking of the routes and you for battle, now follow me."

Then they started to jog around the training lot surprisingly Trapinch kept up till the 3rd lap where Gray was out of breath.

"Let us stop here. Next time we will run farther." Gray said between pants "now for the final thing today show me your moves as I call them. Let us start with Sand attack." Gray then points towards a target.

Trapinch nods then turns toward the target without thinking he grabs a mouthful of dirt and throws it scattering dust everywhere.

"Trap inch" he says hopefully

"It's not quite right but it's a good start. The next to try is astonish."

Trapinch nodded then let out a startling cry.

Gray flinched from hearing the cry.

"Wow that was unlike what I expected. This will be useful in battle, but I can't imagine it making a target flinch again after one use, but it does hurt the ears as mine are still ringing."

"Trapinch" he says excitedly

"Are you ready for the next, I want you to use bite on that target"

Trapinch then ran to the target opened his mouth then a darkness slowly covered his jaw then he bit the target.

Trapinch then ran back to Gray.

"Great job although its slow but we can work on it. Your last known move is Feint can you use it."

Trapinch looked at Gray confused "Trap" the meaning came through even with the language barrier that he didn't know how to use it.

"Thats alright I'll look it up along with how to train your next earth type move." soon after a growl could be heard

Trapinch face went red.

"It seems you're hungry. Mom should be off by now. Follow me and we shall head home and find you something to eat."

Gray and Trapinch walked into the house.

they soon found themselves at the table Gray sitting at the table and Trapinch sitting in his lap.

Grays mother was out of her nurse clothing dressed casually.

"Gray dear I got some berries for you to try out as well as some kibble for ground type pokemon. My advice for your Trapinch is 2 scoops of kibble and a berry that it will enjoy. This is a good start for any pokemon and can be good to feed them but later on if you feel confident as a trainer for battling pokemon you may want to meet a nutritionist to give your party specialized vitamins to make your pokemon even stronger over time."

Gray shook his head "good idea I will see what Trapinch, no what Trap wants to eat."

Gray took out the berries from the bag he set in front of Trap a Cherri, Chesto, Pecha, Rawst, and Aspear berry.

Trap then looked at each of the berries immediately turning away from the Cherri berry and his eyes literally sparkled when he saw the Pecha berry as he suddenly grabbed it and ate it.

"It seems you don't like spicy flavors, but you sure do have a sweet tooth. We can find plenty of Pecha berries in Petalburg woods."

"Speaking you should leave tomorrow so you will be in Rustboro City for the first day of the gym challenge. My recommendation is to head to Petalburg through the Route 102 then go through Petalburg woods."

"Very true it will be three weeks of travel to get there and four weeks till the challenge is open for me to partake also the center will be open when I get there."

With that Gray and Trap turned in for the day.

I look at the target right in front of me.

I just took out the hulking mega swampert with a Magical leaf knocking it out.

"Good job Dolores now take out the ranger shadow claw." with that her claws glowed a ghastly purple as a scream was heard as the ranger pulled out another ball, but it was too late as my claws slashed across his throat knocking him to the ground with choking sounds as his body paled.

"I'll take care of the rest you go check the surroundings for anyone

Dolores nodded at her trainer who was dressed like a pirate.

She ran out of her trainer's sight looking around the area then heading to a very specific location where she was hiding the egg she laid.

"Little one you shall head to your own trainer soon hopefully they don't find you and you can live a good life like I did till we moved here, and he joined aqua."

Looking around she finally saw a young trainer the egg then shook. She knew it was now or never she then covered up with a cloak then approached him and handed it to him as he looked surprised at her.

Dolores ran away as fast as possible before he could ask any questions

Gray Pov.

It was the next day he set off on the route.

It was several hours later when a tall, cloaked stranger approached and gave him an egg before running away. He stood there confused.
