Chapter 74: Chapter 74: A Spell of Light and Dark Caves
Raven sighed as he held a piece of cracked metal in his hands, cracked by said hands that were clawed now.
"I guess physical work is out for now." He mumbled and stood up to strech.
A wave of his hand had everything organized, vanished or shrunk and shoved into his pocket. A portal opened and he walked through it.
•~~~~•
A small white cat with red eyes dashed through the rain, tears streamed down the cats eyes as it ran and ran, till eventually it reached inside of a cave. A pitch black one. Corpses of animals and monsters scattered around.
The cat did not care as it turned back into Izanami as she curled up and cried.
•~~~~•
Raven froze momentarily for a reason unknown to him and tripped, falling into the area between his portal.
Luckily it got him rougly into the correct area, unfortunately it landed him near a group of dementors.
Without a second thought, his true form revealed itself and a giant burst of dawn energy flew out of his body and impaled itself into the dementors who were screeching.
Raven was trying to block out the flow of memories rushing back. It only made him angrier as he increased the output of dawn energy.
"Just. Fuck. Off." Raven snarled out before he let loose all of his power and a giant spear of holy energy formed above them and slammed directly down onto the dementors.
Not even ashes remained.
"What a pain." Raven mumbled as he flopped down onto the ground brimming with life from the holy light.
With a grunt, he stood up, a hand coming up to swipe at his eyes and he frowned as he saw water on his hand.
"Oh, I'm crying." Raven said as it started to rain. "How sad." He added after a moment and then vanished.
•~~~~•
Raven hummed softly as he had a bunch of floating equations floating about him. He was reverse engineering the Patronus charm. To figure out exactly how it worked down to the exact calculation.
For a Wizard style spell, it was definitely a very impressive amount of work put into crafting the spell, perhaps one of the best ones around alongside the killing curse. Now that one had been a truly impressive bit of work.
"So it's a imitation of holy light energy, but it draws on positive emotions and grants it a temporary form that matches one's inner animal." Raven said with understanding as he compressed everything together.
"So something like this." He mumbled and threw together a few hundred thousand calculations in just a minute and smiled as a spell circle formed above his hand and two lights shot out of it.
One took the form of a crow and landed on his shoulder. The other took the form of a… glitchy error with wings?
"Huh?" He mumbled and went through all the calculations, there should only be a single animal form that appeared, his crow form, not whatever that thing was.
With a hum, he decided to test this and sent the two out, with Aria following them as his eyes linked with hers.
•~~~~•
A lone dementor was prowling the edges of the woods hoping for a soul to eat, he was so hungry, but suddenly a burning sensation was felt by him.
A thing made of burning light slammed into him and started burning him. A second, whatever it was, appeared and its form glitched widely before it broke apart into motes of light as it slammed into the dementors, it increased the burning sensations.
A spear of light flew from the distance and pierced right through the crow and impaled the dementor turning it into ash.
Aria turned herself around and flew right back towards Raven at the castle window.
•~~~~•
Raven smiled pleased with himself as he held an arm out for Aria to land on.
"Test 001, 80% success. Guess I'll need to rework the spell to fix that issue." Raven said with a nod to himself before sighing as he realized what he has to do now.
It was time to find his cat.
Is what he would say if he didn't see a glowing note on his bed. Freshly delivered. Lorelei needed his presence for something. So with a sigh, he opened a portal and appeared where she was.
•~~~~•
"We must insist that the Yolenk group gets more budget or we won't be able to complete the assigned project." The spokesman for the Yolenk group said with a frown.
Raven held a hand up as he shifted through some papers Lorelei had handed him before shoving him in a room and walking off, anger radiating off her.
He knew that look, some dead apostle was gonna wish their sire, or themselves, didn't covert them and stayed human, or whatever their origin race was.
"So I see here that Lorelei assigned you to handle the construction of a new facility, yes?" Raven asked rhetorically as he shifted through the papers and nodded to himself and then interlinked his fingers and leaned on his hands.
"So tell me representative of the Yolenk group, the total estimated cost of 178.6 million dollars. You were given a total budget of 200 million. I see here that in just half the buildings completion that the entire budget was used, nothing remains. Explain this to me." Raven said with a smile just peaking out, his bloodlust softly intermixing with his magic forming a visible form of a red aura.
"We encounter some issues with the materials and had to pay more for them, and properly installing the conduits into the building has been harder then expected. Not to mention there have been some issues with the build design we had to work around." The man said and Raven frowned.
"I'm not even going to deal with this. Let's be frank here, I'm in a terrible mood and I have no desire to deal with this, I just want to find my cat. So here's what going to happen, you're going to tell me the truth, or I'm going to gut you, and then the entire Yolenk group with my bare hands and feed your remains to a pair of dead apostles I know. So let me make this clear." Raven said as he stood up, his magic forming a pressure on the man as his bloodlust was fully released as well.
"Tell me the truth, or else I will go through with my threat." Raven declared simply, and the man started spilling everything.
"Good job. For telling the truth I won't gut you and feed you to my friends, no, I'll just take your life instead." Raven said as he simply ripped the soul out the body and stored it away inside a crystal.
"Honestly, you would think these idiots would know better then to try these games with Lorelei and I." Raven sighed as he snapped his finger and stored the body away for use later, he'd use a puppetry spell to control it and deal with the fools, but for now, he had a cat to reclaim.
So with a snap of his fingers he created a note with all the relevant information on it and sent it away to Lorelei's desk and opened a portal back to Hogwarts.
•~~~~•
Raven hummed as he cast a giant magic circle over Hogwarts and the forbidden forest. Over the entirety of Europe. He had laired in a invisibility bit into the spell circle, so no one would see anything.
Perhaps those few experts in magic might be able to sense it, but before they could make heads or tails of it, the spell broke apart and vanished.
Raven smiled before he let a strong holy energy radiate off his body and changed into his crow form and flew off.
For a few minutes he flew between trees and rocks, over small ponds and lakes. Eventually he arrived at the entrance of a completely dark cave and the smell of rotting corpses and other smells inhabiting it. He also faintly heard the sound of sobbing.
His heart beat was irregular for a moment before it returned to normal.
"Honestly, what is it with you Shinto and your caves?" Raven declared as he walked into the cave, a glowing ball of light brightening the cave up as he stared down at Izanami who was curled up in a ball with tears streaming down her face.
His magic stretched out into the cave vanishing all the corpses, and storing those useful into a pocket dimension for later use of materials. It then cleaned it and made a large bed.
Raven casually picked up the Shinto goddess of death and sat on the bed and laid her head on his lap and stroked her head.
"Let me tell you a new story." Raven said as Izanami stared up at him in confusion, and hope.

What a doozy of a chapter. I had planned on stretching out the first part and throwing in some more drama, but I was like, I don't really care about word count beyond a thousand words, so I didn't bother, because let's be honest, so much drama makes it boring.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the chapter and soon enjoy the next one with Raven telling a story.
Until next time!
Bye~
