Demonic Skeleton God

Chapter 148: 10 Months

Flain spread his wings in the center of the valley and flew to the top. With his sword, he made a small hole in the ceiling and flew out.

He transformed into his human form and began running forward at full speed. After an hour, he passed the city that he and Itai had visited first. Back then, it took them two days to get there, but now it took Flain only one hour.

Many people turned their heads toward Flain since Enlightened usually don't travel at full speed, but instead ride in carriages, as traveling the way Flain did would drain their stamina very quickly.

But those who noticed him soon turned their heads away, thinking he was some poor Enlightened who didn't have the money to rent a carriage.

Flain continued running for another day until he arrived at the Imperial City. Many carriages were arriving at the Imperial City, so all Flain had to do was ask the people in them which direction the Imperial City was, and he could be certain he would arrive correctly.

Events were unfolding in the Imperial City just as they did in attempt 13. Flain bought the house where Ghosty was originally located for 150 gold and began training.

An hour passed, and Flain heard a knock on the door and also sensed a very specific ME, so he knew who it was. But it briefly surprised Flain — how could that person know about Flain if they hadn't met yet in this attempt?

Flain guessed it was probably due to his innate talent.

Flain went to the door and opened it. A young man with pale gray hair and eyes stood there.

"Hey Flor," Flain said with a smirk.

"In the middle of the day, foreign memories barged into my head. When I went through them, I understood. Hello Flain," Flor said with a smile.

"How far do those memories go?" Flain asked.

"Up to the arrival at the academy from the airship. Anyway, what killed you and how did it go after that?" Flor asked.

So Flor used his Shadow Summon on Flain the last time he got off the airship — good to know.

Flain then told Flor everything that had happened since arriving at the academy, his death, and up to the occupation of dungeon 31. He left out only one thing — his sealing.

"That black fish that killed you was probably an Umbral Glider. Most of the time it flies near flying islands, but when it senses magic energy, like a bird flying below it, it'll freely fly under the clouds," Flor said.

"Flying islands?"

"Flying islands are pieces of land where too much wind mana has accumulated, lifting them into the air. Most of the time, Tenhiganji live there — those are people with wings," Flor explained.

"Anyway, what are your plans? My plan is the same as in attempt 13 — go to the academy, break through to higher Stages, and build good relationships. But you now have a much bigger army and even a stable EXP income," he asked.

"My plan is simple. Let the dungeon run for stable income of EXP, souls, and army expansion.

Until the time comes to go to the academy, I will train here and then go to the academy. I'll take Itai with me. Although he won't be able to revive monsters in the dungeon and thus the army won't grow, knowledge is currently more valuable than soldiers, since there will be too many of those in the future," Flain explained.

"I understand. Your plans don't bother me in any way. See you at the academy. If you need anything from me, just call," said Flor and left.

Ten months passed, and tomorrow Flain, Flor, and Itai are enrolling in the academy again. During those months, nothing particularly unpleasant happened—on the contrary, too many pleasant things happened.

The dungeon expanded significantly, so now even Stage 2s started to appear. As a result, new locations were set up where three Stage 2s stood so that any Stage 2 that spawned would be instantly killed.

Steward trained 20 new Commanders and broke through to Stage 3, so the army now has three Stage 3s.

At the same time, the army grew to an enormous size. It had three Stage 3s, 350 Stage 2s, and 22,000 Stage 1s, which is a completely different dimension compared to ten months ago. At the same time, Itai reached Peak Stage 2 even with such a sparse mana density—mainly because he kept training, sending out waves of necrotic mana through the dungeon, so he didn't even have to move.

Lord of Souls advanced to level 3, so Flain got another slave slot. At the same time, Aran and Ivy absorbed a huge number of souls and became very powerful.

Flain had collected 21,500 souls in his pocket, so he was almost halfway there. And most importantly, he had 5,345,000 EXP and had completed his spell. According to his estimates, it took him three months to finish the spell. He already had a whole bunch of other spells that would suit him industrially, but he decided to dedicate the remaining seven months purely to training since he was planning a major leveling up.

For the first time in a long while, Flain felt euphoric—he had so much EXP. After watering the tree for so long, the tree was finally bearing fruit.

It was the perfect time for leveling up.

[Level 43 -> Level 44]

[Level 44 -> Level 45]

[Level 45 -> Level 46]

[Level 46 -> Level 47]

[Level 47 -> Level 48]

[Level 48 -> Level 49]

[Level 49 -> Level 50]

[Strength increased by 7, agility increased by 7, vitality increased by 7, intelligence increased by 7]

[You have gained 7 bonus points]

Flain's EXP was just enough for level 50. Flaine ME got bigger, je moved up to Novice Stage 3.

[You have reached level 50. You have 1 day to prepare for the class evolution test. Based on your actions in the test, you will be assigned a suitable class. If you want to start the test immediately, press Yes]

[Yes | No]

When Flain read it, he thought: finally. He'd had the warrior class for a long time and assumed evolution would come soon. He assumed it would be at level 50, and so it was.

However, it looks like the evolution won't be a choice between 3 options like with the race, but rather he will have to pass a test. Flain might receive some bonus rewards in the test. But there's also the risk of receiving a class that wouldn't suit him, so he preferred the option of choosing from three classes more.

He had 505,000 EXP left...
