DWBS Book 1, now on Amazon!
Hi everyone!
Each book I’ve written either has or will eventually get a few different audiences. The way this works is that I write them initially on Royal Road to find readers, then either get a publisher for them or self-publish to other platforms. In the end, the books transition to Amazon and Audible, where they make money and keep me financially able to write as much as I do.
Despite that, here’s a dirty little secret: You, the humble Royal Road readers, are the most important audience I have. By far.
There are a lot of reasons for this, ranging from “feedback” to “free high-quality typo finding.” But the largest part is because you guys have been with Arthur and Mizu and Lily and Milo and plenty more side characters day by day. You’ve seen Arthur grow and kept me on the straight and narrow when the writing is off.
And so it’s absolutely genuine when I do bold, all-caps big news like “DEMON WORLD BOBA SHOP IS GOING UP ON AMAZON AND I NEED YOUR HELP!!!”
I know some people react to that by thinking it’s needy or uncomfortable, but there’s no way around it. If you tell people about my stuff, they know about it. If you don’t, they don’t. It’s that simple.
Our plan and hope is that we can keep DWBS going forever. Enough people have told us that it’s important to their day and mood to have it that we feel a sense of duty to it. We don’t know what shape that will take (spin-offs are possible, for instance) but it’s our plan.
That plan is dependent on the series launch, and its success is entirely dependent on your reviews, your word of mouth, and anything else you might do to help us promote the launch.
The usual rule of thumb is that you might have thousands and thousands of readers, but you are only going to get a 1% of them to review. I think/hope that enough of you love the series enough that we’ll get more than that. Please go here to review now if you can.

As always, we appreciate you reading regardless. Enjoy today’s chapters, and we’ll see you tomorrow.
