Chapter 8: Ch 8 - Meeting the Forgotten
With the turbulent, yet equally soft breeze of wind whispering to his ears and making his ragged clothes flutter violently—Taixuan continued to fall into the seemingly infinite abyss.
"Money, power, woman, and then, a son..."
...
"We tried so many methods to lure you..."
...
"However, you remained stubborn..."
...
The old man's words kept hammering his mind as he could not come to believe what he had said.
If he were to think of it as the truth, then he was getting played by the world, and if he did not, then he was being played by destiny itself.
Unknowingly, Taixuan had started to grow hungry. Hungry for the truth.
Not long after, his fall seemed to have ended as he approached the ground within an instant.
Bang!
With a loud bang that reverberated throughout the entire abyss, sending screech-like vibrations all the way up to the ground level, Taixuan smashed into the wall with a force so strong that the gigantic cracks surfaced from the depths, spreading wide and creating spiderwebbed patterns all around.
At the same instant, Taixuan let out a sickening groan as his old and weakened body faced the impact head-on. Blood surged from his nostrils and eye sockets as he spat out a load from his mouth as well.
For a moment, all his senses grew numb and stopped responding to his commands. His vision blurred as he felt a certain warmth fill him from the inside.
His blood vessels had erupted and organs had been pierced by countless broken bones, letting the blood flood the entirety of his body.
Feeling his consciousness drift apart from his existence, a voice softly whispered into his mind, acting like the helping hand he needed to stay alive.

'What... What did I do... To deserve such treatment...'
...
"What... If... I had made... Different choices in my life... Why... Am I dying... While they get to continue living on... They are... The ones who deserved to die... Not me..."
...
"Then, what would you like to do to such people?"
"Kill...them..."

It was a voice that he was familiar with, but with no memory whatsoever.
To Taixuan, it felt like a distant fragment of his memory that had been buried deep inside his mind since his birth, only revealing itself now that he had lost everything he had in this world.
Even though he could not remember a thing, he could feel it all. The emotions that the voice contained, the rejection towards the world, the grief, everything felt too similar to his current self—Broken, Enraged, and yet, equally saddened.
Slowly, as his senses began to restore, Taixuan felt a faint vibration churn below his body while crackling sounds—barely audible—continuously blew the whistle of liveliness into the abyss.
However, with all the major bones of his upper body crushed, Taixuan could not move his body at all.
The cracks on the surface widened with the vibrations and gradually grew weak under Taixuan's weight.
His body began to sink further into the ground as it seemed to have started to split apart.
Shortly after, as though the ground itself could not take it any longer, the layer below him completely collapsed, letting him fall further down.
And it only made sense for him to have stopped soon, however, he kept falling for an indefinite time.
Taixuan noticed that the darkness around him had elevated, and he could see much better now, as if there was anything worth seeing there.
Thinking that his eyes had gotten used to the dark in that short time, he let it go. But just a moment later, he was proven wrong as a bright yellow-gold light began to form over the edges of his body.
It was only for an instant, however, he felt as though his body had spent an eternity in a blazing room of flames.
Almost immediately, his view changed.
The rough terrain of dirt and stones of the cave had disappeared; rather, the darkness itself seemed to have diminished as he saw countless tiny bright lights blinking far from his reach, forming a mesmerizing view.
Before he could think about anything else, Taixuan was slammed into—what seemed like a water body with a loud splash, his body, at first, simply drowned while his body twisted inside.
Then, something seemed to lift him up slowly as he floated on the surface with his back exposed to the outside while his face remained drowned, although, he could breathe just fine.
"Davey Lionheart" A voice softly rang in the entire vicinity.
Even to Taixuan, who had become immune to any such emotions, he felt as though he had become a child, peacefully sleeping in his mother's warm embrace.
However, it didn't take long for him to realize that it was nothing more than a facade.
"Or, should I call you, Mo Tianxun?"
