Demon Slayer: The Tenth Hashira with Dōjutsu

Chapter 86: DSWS: Chapter 86

"First Encounter with Doma"

A young girl, perhaps ten years old, with delicate features and the potential to be a dream girl for many men, knelt on the red carpet.

She was terrified, paralyzed by fear, unable to resist even if she could. She knelt, weeping, repeatedly crying out, "I want to go home," but no one in the room responded; everyone wore serious expressions.

After a long time, the priest in the center finally spoke.

"The time has come. She may be taken in."

Two followers emerged, each seizing one of the girl's arms, dragging her into the room behind the priest.

"Master, the time has come. We have brought her." Bowing to a figure within the room, the two followers retreated, closing the door.

After the girl was taken, the cultists left one by one, followed by the priest, who locked the door behind him.

Silence descended upon the room. Inside, the girl still knelt, trembling with fear, her soft sobs barely audible.

Before her sat a figure wearing an unfamiliar hat, revealing white-blond hair, dressed in luxurious clothing, and a mask concealing their face.

"My, my, what's wrong, little one?" The figure spoke, their voice calm and gentle, not sounding malicious.

Standing, they approached the girl, gently stroking her head. "Don't cry. Is there anything you want to do?"

"I… I want to go home," the girl sobbed.

The figure smiled. "Home? Why go home? From what I understand, your family isn't wealthy. Don't worry. Tonight, I'll send you to paradise, where you'll enjoy endless riches and never fear again."

"You see, I'm saving you."

Raising the mask slightly, revealing sharp, vampire-like teeth, the figure lunged towards the girl.

Suddenly, a black wave of sword energy shattered the door, heading straight for the figure.

Smoke filled the room, choking the girl, who coughed violently. Through the smoke, she felt hands lifting her, carrying her swiftly outside.

As Aoki prepared to leave with the girl, a figure appeared like a phantom, forcing him to stop.

"Not dead?" Setting the girl down, Aoki gripped his Yōgetsu, its surface etched with strange patterns, emanating an eerie black aura.

From the moment he entered, Aoki knew a demon was present—the figure before him.

He'd planned a quick strike and retreat, but the demon's unharmed arrival, with a speed that caught him off guard, indicated immense strength.

Aoki's combat power exceeded 4000. Lower Moons wouldn't last three rounds against him; he could easily defeat them with a single powerful attack.

Only an Upper Moon possessed such speed.

He didn't know which Upper Moon this was, as the mask concealed their eyes and rank.

Before he could discover the answer, the demon removed their mask, revealing a pale face with a carefree smile.

They also removed their hat, revealing white-blond hair streaked with crimson.

Their eyes were multicolored, quite striking.

But Aoki focused on the kanji inscribed on the demon's eyes.

Left eye: "Upper Moon," right eye: "Two." His identity was clear.

Upper Moon Two—Doma.

Ding!

Doma:

Identity: Upper Moon Two of the Twelve Kizuki

Personality: Emotionless, yet desires emotion

Skills: Blood Demon Art

Combat Power: 6258 points

Overall Assessment: S+ class

Seeing Doma's stats, Aoki felt a chill.

King-class. Besides Doma, Aoki had only encountered one other SS- class demon: Muzan Kibutsuji. Even the strongest Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, hadn't reached that level.

While Aoki wasn't surprised by Doma's combat power, the significant power gap instilled a deep-seated fear. Memories of his near-death experience against Akaza on the Mugen Train intensified that fear.

Without hesitation, Aoki scooped up the girl and instantly activated the Flying Thunder God technique he'd previously placed on Shinobu Kocho. In less than a breath, he appeared beside Shinobu and the girl's father.

Handing the girl to her father, Aoki witnessed a touching reunion, but he had no time for sentimentality.

He gave the man a pouch of wisteria flowers, his voice urgent. "Here. Leave immediately. This place is dangerous. Close your doors and windows at home and keep this pouch with you."

Aoki turned to Shinobu, who looked puzzled. She'd never seen him like this, and seeing his trembling hands, she was shocked.

"Shinobu, no time to explain. We're going back now."

Under Shinobu's astonished gaze, Aoki placed a hand on her shoulder. In an instant, they vanished.

When they reappeared, Shinobu was surprised to find themselves back at the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters, but in Aoki's mansion, not the Butterfly Mansion.
