Chapter 51: DSWS: Chapter 51
"Enmu's Scheme"
In the Mugen Train's engine car, the conductor who had checked Aoki's team's tickets was on his knees, weeping and begging.
"I've followed your orders. I checked their tickets and put them to sleep. Please, let me sleep too. Let me see my dead wife and daughter."
Before him on the floor stood a hand with a mouth and a single eye, bearing the kanji for dream. It stood on its five fingers.
"Good. You did well. Sleep. Have a good dream reuniting with your family," the hand said, its voice identical to Enmu's. The conductor fainted.
After the conductor fell asleep, two boys and a girl appeared in the car.
They looked at the hand hesitantly. "Excuse us…"
The hand said, "Their sleep will deepen soon. Wait here. Sharp Demon Slayers sometimes awaken because of killing intent or a demon's presence.
Get close, then bind their wrists with rope. Don't touch their bodies; it might wake them."
"I can't leave the front car yet. Once my new body is complete, you must do your best. For the sake of good dreams."
"Yes," the three replied in unison.
Meanwhile, in Aoki's team's car, each member experienced a different dream.
Zenitsu dreamt of being with Nezuko.
Inosuke dreamt he was the boss, with Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Nezuko as his underlings. Significantly, Aoki was their supreme leader.
Perhaps due to his deep respect or fear of Aoki, even in his dream, Inosuke remained deeply afraid of him.
Rengoku Kyōjurō dreamt of becoming a Hashira years ago. His father, devastated by his mother's death, had become despondent.
The once-powerful Demon Slayer was now listless, showing no interest in his son's achievement.
His younger brother, Senjurō, less skilled and more timid, deeply admired their father and desperately sought his approval, but after their mother's death, neither brother could elicit a smile from him.
Tanjiro, unsurprisingly, dreamt of his family. Overwhelmed with emotion at seeing his deceased family, Tanjiro's eyes welled up as he embraced them.
Meanwhile, believing the time was ripe, the three children Enmu had selected to kill Aoki's team entered their car.
However, they stopped abruptly, displaying confusion and fear.
Aoki had risen from his seat and stood in the aisle, arms crossed, eyes closed. His haori billowed slightly, revealing the Nichirin Sword at his hip.
"Impressive. A Blood Demon Art that induces sleep without detection," Aoki murmured.
"Indeed. I've never encountered such a clever demon. Knowing Demon Slayers awaken to killing intent or demonic auras, you sent children? Well done."
Aoki slowly opened his eyes, revealing his distinctive Sharingan.
"But unfortunately for you, you've encountered me. Even Rengoku-san, stronger than me, fell for your trick."
Aoki looked at the terrified children, sweat beading on their faces.
"Please… save us!" a boy cried, kneeling before Aoki. "That… thing captured us. We haven't slept in ages. Please, save us!"
Aoki's tone softened. "Such a simple request. Easily done."
"Look into my eyes."
The boy looked into Aoki's Mangekyō Sharingan.
"Mangekyō Sharingan, Genjutsu!"
A faint light emanated from Aoki's Mangekyō Sharingan . The boy's eyes glazed over, then closed as he fainted.
Aoki similarly subdued the other two children using a Mangekyō Sharingan Genjutsu, inducing a temporary coma.
The intensity of the genjutsu's effect was under his control. Seeing they were ordinary children, he created pleasant dreams for them.
Aoki's expression turned serious. He went to Tanjiro, and after attempting unsuccessfully to dispel the dream with genjutsu, he retrieved a wooden box beside Tanjiro.
Opening the box, the miniature Nezuko emerged, then returned to her normal size.
Gently stroking Nezuko's head, Aoki smiled. "Nezuko, be a good girl. I have to deal with something. Watch over your brother and the others. If anyone tries to harm them, just obliterate them."
Nezuko nodded in agreement, assuring Aoki she would protect them.
Aoki then leaped out the window onto the train's roof and headed towards the engine car, where he found Enmu.
Enmu's Stats:
Name: Enmu
Identity: Lower Moon One
Personality: Unknown, seemingly devoted to Muzan Kibutsuji
Skills: Blood Demon Art
Combat Power: 3285
Overall Assessment: A+ Rank
"Lower Moon One… 3285 combat power. A few hundred points higher than me, but it shouldn't be a major problem," Aoki murmured. In the months since killing Rui, his combat power had risen to 2765, nearing A+ Rank.
Enmu, seeing Aoki, waved cheerfully. "Hello! Impressive, breaking through my dream. You're quite interesting."
Ignoring Enmu, Aoki moved like a flash of lightning. With a crack of black lightning, Enmu's head fell to the ground, Aoki appearing behind his body.
