Demon Lord: Erotic Adventure in Another World

Chapter 550: The Demon Emperor's Arrival

However, no matter what Simon and the others desired, there was no universe where Asmodeus would abandon them, not his future wife, mentor and friend.

Meanwhile, the journey to reach them wasn't pleasant.

"Peh!" Lumina spat the chewy fat from her steak onto the fire, her silky silver and white hair messy. "How many times do we have to repeat this... It's growing tedious!" Her voice, speech and mannerisms became more human and neat over the long travel, much different from her wild and feral side.

"I agree... but if we are here... we must protect these people." The tired male replied, his words only bringing the goddess to roll her eyes, but he knew how to sway her mood.

"Don't be so soft, that's why people take advantage of you."

"But we got to eat this delicious meat thanks to that, no?"

Asmodeus looked different from when he departed. Only a few days, close to a week, had passed, but the number of cultists and bandits the pair faced on the journey through Grigor was horrifying.

Asmodeus had lost count.

The strange part was how they acted... as if in a trance, yet their blood and mana weren't corrupted or controlled. It wasn't that they were strong, because Asmodeus could wipe them out with a single spell. He just felt irritated that no matter where they stayed or passed, death and nuisance remained.

"Alright, alright, we will get there in a day, so you can complain to me once we are in a warm bed."

Lumina's eight eyes shimmered in the sunlight, her gaze lingering on his body, "Is that an offer? Are you seducing me, dear?" Her laugh was as bright as ever. Asmodeus returned it, his smile soft yet teasing, a finger running down her cheek. "Perhaps."

He whispered, but their smiles dropped the next second, and Lumina's spider legs pushed her body off the ground, hundreds of silken webbing illuminated in the amber light cast by the fireball towards them.

Boom!

Dust, dirt and flames blasted into the surroundings as Asmodeus protected himself, but he could see nothing past the smoke.

Lumina had vanished from sight, but he heard her skittering above him, her web visible to him, but the attackers were impatient; at least 20 men and women had been bound by her webs, even with their strange robes and masks.

"They aren't from Grigor..."

Asmodeus muttered as the dust settled, his eyes fixed on a single figure standing before him.

"Nor are they cultists..."

Knights, in pristine silver armour and the emblem of a planted sword wrapped with a snake. The symbol wasn't something Asmodeus recognised, but Lumina did. Her red lips pressed together as she prepared for battle.

'Should I just annihilate them?' Asmodeus thought.

They seemed well-trained and disciplined. Not a single knight spoke, even when Lumina rushed at them. Those caught in her web were dead or struggling with poison, no survivors, and the leader only grinned at the two.

'The knights took their own lives!?'

"Who are you? Why are you here?" Asmodeus asked, raising his hand to signal Lumina to stop. "Why are you so deep into Grigor?

"To think the demon king himself would deem us worthy to talk to." The leader carried an air of arrogance and self-inflated pride around him. Most likely a noble, or someone close to that level of heritage.

"I suggest you answer; I'm not known for my patience."

The man only chuckled at Asmodeus' demand, but his eyes gave something away that made Asmodeus nervous, because these people were not under any control like the cultists.

So what would an armed force of trained knights from the mainland be doing in Grigor, or even on the continent in the first place?

"We are here under the orders of his holiness, the Pope."

'A pope, to what church!?'

Asmodeus looked at Lumina and couldn't help but feel amused, since the goddess they worshipped was now half woman, half spider. He didn't know what to say, but he noticed how they surrounded him, although Lumina kept her webbing around them, able to deal with the knights once he sent any signal.

"What a convenient thing. Since when did they give the church such authority?"

"Silence, Demon!" One of the knights shouted, only for Asmodeus' glare to make her shut up and shake within her armour.

"If you don't let me pass, I will kill you."

Asmodeus didn't want to drag this on; he noticed the training and skill of the knights, and suddenly Baltimore seemed far too dangerous to leave Vinea there. Not to mention Paul, Simon and Ygrenne.

"I would like to see you try." The man grinned, "Do you believe yourself so mighty that you could act against a god and not lose something in return? Be careful, demon. What you care for might just go up in smoke."

A clear threat.

But Useless... as a response, Asmodeus pointed to one of the knights.

Mana collected at his fingertip, forming a blood orb filled with condensed power, then it burst into a beam of crimson light.

The knight didn't even get to scream, her armour clattering as it melted, leaving only one piece that fell to the floor.

"Do not test me." His cold voice and actions caused even the seasoned knights to pause, the horses backing off from the stench of molten iron and cooked meat.

However, the man grinned, "Oh?"

He was about to speak, but Asmodeus interrupted.

"Do not speak, do not move, I will not stop, or listen. Lumina bind their mouths to stop them from suicide. Kill everyone but the two leaders."

"As you wish."

Lumina's webbing seemed alive as it covered each knight, stopping all movement and covering their eyes and mouths. Her smile turned wicked and sadistic. "Anything for you..." Her affection and obsession during this trip grew to an unnatural degree.

The knights screamed and cried, begging for death, but their cries were muffled. They tried to take their lives, but the silk prevented everything.

Asmodeus didn't even blink; his body vanished like a ghost, stepping beside the leading knight, who gripped his sword, but silver webbing, sticky and heavy, wrapped his arm, yanking it back in the sheath.

"Well now... let's see who sent you."

Asmodeus didn't lack the means to read memories or dig into a person's past.

He just didn't like those methods because, if used, they could make the person a drooling mess, permanently destroying their psyche.

But this threat, the strange actions of the people he faced on his way here, and now this armed group...

'No more games...'

As soon as his fingers touched the man's eyes, the world turned upside down.

***

Asmodues shook, his mind delving into the knight's memories, blurry scenes and emotions flowing into his body, from love to lust and even the darkest desires of the knight became his for a fleeting moment... that's when he saw a room, elegant and familiar.

No, the room wasn't familiar, but the handsome blonde with a scar on his cheek was.

Alan sat in an ornate chair, surrounded by fine wine and servants, a few women sitting on his lap and shoulder. The scene looked like the image of a decadent emperor.

He looked down at the knight who prostrated himself on the ground.

"So you are the one sent by that old fool?" Alan's green eyes examined the knight, disdainful and mocking.

Asmodeus could feel it because he felt what the knight did: his admiration and desire for the man. It wasn't natural, like those overwhelmed by religious fervour and becoming zealots.

The knight would probably offer up his wife and daughter if Alan asked to bed them, no matter how much he treasured them.

"Useless... all useless." Alan shook his head, a hand waving in dismissal at them. "What could you do against my dear brother, Asmodeus?"

'Disgusting!'

What made Asmodeus feel nauseous was this filthy bastard staining his close brotherhood and trust in Alan, the man who helped him step out of the dark. That smile... that warmth, although he never spoke to the man much...

'It doesn't matter anymore... It's all a lie.'

He tore himself away from the scene, feeling sick to his stomach.

However... something happened.

"Oh? Is there someone peeking, like a little rat?" Alan's voice sounded different. It wasn't Alan but a black shadow, an immense shadow filled with holes and tears. "Ah~ if it isn't little Asmodeus."

'W-What!? He can see me?'

"Don't look so surprised, I am a god, you know?! I am hurt... weren't we oh~ so close?"

The shadows spread, as if alive, consuming everything around them. "You have grown big, how about you come and visit me. I would love to show you the truth of this world... but I am too busy destroying your brother's life! Hahahahaha."

Asmodeus couldn't move; the black shadow enveloped him, as countless voices spoke in different tones, overwhelming him.

"I'll be waiting for you, demon emperor, to settle our score!"

Asmodeus knew it.

Mephisto was waiting for him.
