Chapter 309
"Maybe I should let them a bit into my secrets", Aaron thought to himself, after seeing that his parents were not accepting his gifts.
Before now, he would leave before they said no, making them accept the gifts, but with recent sudden growth, it fell under the eyes of their manager, who gave them clues about the items that he gave them.
So, Aaron understood that this time around, the old tricks may not work.
Instead of tricking, he thought the best way was to show something that he hid from others, something that would make them accept these gifts without ever saying no.
"Dad, Mom, before you say no, there is something that you should know", Aaron said.
His parents thought that they would not be taking their son's resources, but they were intrigued to know what their son wanted to say, especially after learning that if their son had access to such resources, then he should have good potential.
It was the reason why they said no.
They believed that if he used those resources instead of them, then he could become powerful. That's what they wanted more than becoming top cooks in the restaurant.
"Here goes nothing", Aaron muttered as he made his status panel visible to his parents.
Not the entire panel, just his rank and level. If they see his entire panel, they might get a heart attack. He was trying to show that he can survive without these, and they can enjoy these resources, without giving them heart problems.
"Rank-5, Level 1100", both read the number that was visible to them.
Both were stunned when they read the words that were visible. They became statues, gawking at those words.
Their brains couldn't process what they were seeing.
"Am I dreaming?" Thomas muttered absent-mindedly.
Maya pinched Thomas' arm. "Ouch", Thomas cried out in pain.
"Why did you pinch me?" he asked his wife.
"Want to check whether I am dreaming or not?" she said.
"Why don't you pinch your hand?" he asked.
"If it were a dream, I wouldn't have pinched you, but I would have pinched myself", she said flatly.
Thomas didn't know whether to cry or not, but he said nothing about that.
There was something more important to talk about.
"Son, is it true? Are you really at Rank-5?" Thomas asked Aaron, awaiting an answer.
Even Maya was the same. She wanted to know if it was true.
Aaron chuckled, "Do you think I would lie to you? I may have hidden some things, but I didn't lie. What you were seeing is true, and before you ask, it was because of my talent that I was able to rise so fast".
"Also, these resources that I am giving you now are from a dungeon that I found nearby. So, don't worry about me. I have plenty of resources. So, make sure to consume and improve yourselves".
Hearing those words, they were satisfied that their son was not lacking. He has crossed their ranks a long time ago and was trying to help them reach his stage. So, they accepted the resources that he gave them, which were a lot of Skill Rank and Point Stones.
Unlike before, he gave all at once and asked them to consume them, making sure that all their skills would reach the Bronze Realm, which they did; three skills of each reached the Bronze Rank.
As soon as that happened, they felt an improvement.
"Son, what is happening? I felt an improvement", the couple spoke.
They checked their status and saw the attribute bonus and were shocked by it and looked at Aaron for answers.
He told them what it was and also narrated everything that he knew to them about the Grades. He told them always to try to get one skill to the next realm, and complete the requirements for the Grade. Only then can other skills be improved to the previous skill rank realm.
This was the best way to get the best benefits.
"Dad, Mom, remember to make sure that you won't show more than what you had last shift at the restaurant. If others feel envious of your growth, they might cause unnecessary issues for us, maybe even fatal ones. Never, ever speak about what I discussed with you to anyone. Never", Aaron said with a serious tone, indicating that leaking this information may have some unforeseen consequences for their family.
"We promise, son", they said.
For him, that was enough, and they started to enjoy the dinner before going to rest for the night.
---
Days went by, and slowly weeks went by.
Aaron, at first, started to dive into the Twin Dungeons, letting them stay where they were for the moment. Jay came through and even sent him two Dungeon Transfer Sets.
Those were quite in demand, as the world is still upgrading. Even in a stable state, new dungeons appear every once in a while, but with this, a lot of dungeons are appearing one by one.
So, the demand for Dunegon Transfer sets spiked. Even if that was the case, the crafters found that it was the case and started to produce a lot of dungeon transfer sets. So, for Jay, who has been dealing with crafters for a while, it didn't take more than three days before he got his hands on two of them as required by Aaron.
Aaron didn't transfer them because he was looking for a new place to live, where he could place the three dungeons. The new place should have a lot of open space for placing these three dungeons, and maybe even more in the future, if he finds more dungeons.
He was preparing well for the future needs.
As he ranks up, he would be able to live for a long time, as long as he was not killed, and that means he would see generations of his family. To make sure the family he would one day see is prosperous, he needed to start from now, especially from now.
Before, most resources were already occupied by the major families, organisations, etc, but the world upgrade is giving chances for others who didn't get a chance then.
Sure, most of what appears now would go to those old ones, but not all would. There would be a few that would be enough for a few new forces to arise, and Aaron intends to be one such new force to rise soon.
A force needs a proper base of operation.
As the force he intends to start is a big family, it needs a lot of land. Maybe when he grows even more powerful, he can extend into high-tier cities, but for now, he can't afford to move to those high-priced areas.
So, for now, he needs to find enough open space for the dungeons to be transferred to. Until then, he decided to let them be where they were.
With him already bonded, no one can take them away, though he may lose access to them if others find and guard the area.
Of course, he has some ideas if such a thing happens, but either because he was lucky or others were not lucky, no one found them, and may not find them there, even if they stumble upon the secret space.
