Chapter 307
It was a Skill Rank Stone dungeon.
Skill Rank Stones and Skill Point Stones are resources that can be used to increase the ranks of the skills.
One directly increases the rank of the skill, while the other gives Skill Points, which are used to increase the rank of a skill.
The issue was that both have grades. The low-grade one is used to improve a skill up to Rank-3, and after that, only Mid-grade and High-grade ones work.
The low-grade ones may not work on higher ranks, but a higher grade skill rank stone would work on the lower ranks. So, there is always demand for the high-grade ones, especially because they are the rarest of all grades.
There are dungeons, but the problem was that only the boss from the dungeon would drop such an item, while no other items or EXP would be gained for clearing other monsters. It was a waste of time for many.
Unless they are bored, no one would be diving into such dungeons. The earnings that one can gain from the time and energy they expended are not worth it.
It was why, though there are a few dungeons, there are very few Skill stones available, and affluent families either use those too for their descendants, or institutions like academies and the alliance would give them out as rewards for the best-performing students.
Except in exceptional cases, they won't appear outside, which is why most of the public doesn't even know about their existence.
It is how it was supposed to be when dealing with a Skill Rank Stone or Skill Point Stone dungeon, but something different happened here.
"I thought that there would be only one drop and that too at the end, after defeating the boss, but this is not what I knew from before. Everything was different", Aaron muttered as he checked the loot that he got from the dungeon.
There are tens of Skill Rank Stones of different grades in his storage, because of this dungeon. Though not every monster gave him a drop, nor EXP, he got a loot drop every once in a while after killing a few monsters.
This was not how it was supposed to be, and that was not the only anomaly that Aaron observed.
"Wait, I defeated the dungeon boss, why wasn't there any notification to claim the core?" Aaron wondered for a little while.
Then he remembered something.
"Two portals–Two Dungeons. Are they interfering with each other, causing this mutation?" Aaron thought out loud.
When dungeons are transferred to a different location after claiming them, they will be placed with a sufficient gap between them, as they were dangerous. Still, this was a natural formation of two portals near each other, which may have changed the dynamics of the dungeons.
"I need to check the other dungeon before I can conclude", Aaron thought and exited the dungeon.
Once he did, he entered the second portal, ready to face whatever was there.
Anomalies would either mean dangerous or highly resourceful, or sometimes both, but he can only say which it is after entering the dungeon.
---
"It's a Skill Point Stone dungeon", Aaron muttered as he looked at the first drop of the dungeon.
It was the first drop because it literally was, and it didn't come from the boss.
"Looks like both were affecting each in some way, but this is good too, as it would give me a lot of skill point stones and skill rank stones, which I can provide my parents in abundance".
"Once they reach Bronze Realm, they would get a boost in attributes, which means, even if I didn't find any attribute resources, their attributes would be increased faster. With increased skill ranks, they can also do excellent work, which would mean more EXP for less work, which would make it easy to level up and attributes for them".
"So, these may be the best dungeons I've found, but I need to verify if they would still stay even after I complete the dungeon and whether I can take them away or not".
Aaron has many doubts regarding the functions, as the two were acting differently when compared to other dungeons. So, he continued through the dungeon till the end to check if his assumptions were correct or not.
---
Soon, Aaron cleared the dungeon, including the boss monster.
It was then that a notification appeared.
[You have cleared the Twin Dungeons.]
[You can now bind with the Twin Dungeon Cores.]
[Do you want to bind with the cores?]
[Yes/No]
"Ah, so, one has to complete two dungeons for this to pop up, and it was a good thing that this popped up, which means it is not a one-time or time-limited dungeon. I can clear the dungeon as many times as possible", Aaron smiled, thinking about the quantity of loot he would get.
"Hope that increase in quantity was not just a one-time thing. Even if it was, these resources are important, not to me, but to my parents and my children nd descendants when they appear in this world", he smiled to himself, thinking about the bright future for his family.
"Oh, shit, I forgot about taking these cores away. I need to ask Jay if he can find another set for the dungeon transfer; maybe two would be required. I should find a proper place for the first one".
"The house we are in is not sufficient. A lot of open ground is required. I should check for places like that, and I can transfer the dungeon to that place, which would free the Dungeon Crystal to store the Dungeon Core".
"The problem was the change of homes. I need to find a good place for not one dungeon but enough to place quite a few dungeons, like these two and any other if I find any in the future, which I hope happens".
"So, let's first ask Jay about the Crystals. If they were not there, I can think about other things", Aaron thought and exited the dungeon.
