Chapter 21: Chapter 21: I Am the Aftermath
[Page 1]
[VISUAL]Interior of the ship. Dawn and Luna stand facing each other by the airlock. The lighting is warm, soft. It's a goodbye.
LUNA (softly):Now that the pact is sealed… we're connected.Mind, body, soul.
DAWN (frowning):You mean like a psychic hotline?
LUNA (half-smirking):I mean… you'll feel me bleed before I do. You'll know when I lie. And… if the bond deepens, you'll start unlocking more.Power, perception… memory. Not gifts. Not blessings. Just doors. You'll still have to crawl through them yourself.
DAWN (quiet):And if I don't?
LUNA:You stay half-awake forever.
[Page 2]
[VISUAL]Rain walks in, looking rough but alive, rubbing his temples. Classic smirk forming.
RAIN:"MIND, BODY AND SOUL."That sounds like the tagline for a cursed dating app.
[VISUAL]Luna and Dawn exchange a look.
DAWN & LUNA (in perfect sync):Shut the fuck up, Rain.
RAIN (hands up):Hey, just sayin'. Might help me figure out this dragon thing.
[Page 3]
[VISUAL]Exterior. Rain steps outside the ship through the pressurized chamber, drifting out into space in a tank top and cargo pants. Just him and the stars.
RAIN (V.O.):No power-ups. No stardust. No dragon cheat codes.Just me.
[VISUAL]He breathes in (no need for air) and lets himself float. Then wills his body forward—and it moves.
He grins.
RAIN (V.O.):Okay… so physics doesn't apply to me anymore.
[Page 4]
[VISUAL]Rain zips around the hull of the ship, looping upside-down, sideways—doing somersaults and backflips with ease.
He floats past a window and taps the glass with a single knuckle. Inside: Luna and Dawn.
[VISUAL]Dawn flinches hard.
DAWN (screaming):RAIN?!
[VISUAL]He floats limply, tongue out, playing dead. A single hand against the glass.
Then slowly… he winks.
[Page 5]
[VISUAL]Luna pinches the bridge of her nose. Dawn bangs the window.
DAWN & LUNA (again, in sync):SIT. THE. FUCK. DOWN.
RAIN (mouthing through the glass):Worth it.
[Page 6]
[VISUAL]Rain floats higher into the stars now, farther from the ship. The mood shifts. No more jokes. Just silence.
He exhales, closes his eyes.
RAIN (V.O.):I get it. I can't force this. But maybe I can still figure out who I am… without it.
[Page 7]
[VISUAL]Suddenly—his body spasms. His eyes snap open—golden, glowing. His arms jerk at unnatural angles. His chest pulses like a second heart is beating inside him.
[VISUAL]Rain's back arches. He grits his teeth.
His voice breaks through gritted teeth:
RAIN:No—no—nononono—
[Page 8]
[VISUAL]His face goes still.
His eyes glow brighter.
His smile grows.
[VISUAL]Rain disappears—vanishing across starfields in the blink of an eye.
[Page 9]
[VISUAL]A peaceful planetary system. Cities in orbit. Civilian ships, families on balconies.
Then—a golden streak across the sky.
*Rain appears midair. Floating.
Expression blank.
One finger lifts.
[VISUAL]A planet rips in half with a soundless quake.
[Page 10]
[SEQUENTIAL PANELS – NO DIALOGUE]
Rain walking on starlight.
Rain snapping a moon like glass.
Rain looking directly into a telescope—and the operator's face goes pale.
Rain hovering above a temple. Everyone bows. The temple disintegrates.
[Page 11]
[VISUAL]Inside Rain's head.
A white void. No doors. Just him—trapped.
He watches from a one-way mirror.
His hands move—but he's not in control.
His smile is not his own.
[Page 12]
[FULL PAGE PANEL]A world of libraries—towers of scrolls and memories—goes up in golden flame.
Rain walks through the fire.
He doesn't blink.
[Page 13]
[SEQUENTIAL VISUALS]
Entire suns get swallowed into the black of his pupils.
A starmap glitches. Systems vanish.
A godlike alien screams into a comm:"The anomaly has conscious intent. This is no natural event!"
[Page 14]
[VISUAL]Inside Rain's mind again.
Now he's in a shattered version of his apartment. Old posters. Broken glass. No one there.
He looks into a mirror.
The reflection smiles back—eyes glowing, mouth bleeding.
Then it says (without sound):
"You're the weapon. I'm just the hand."
[Page 15]
[NO TEXT – FULL PAGE]Rain, still humanoid, stands on an asteroid.
He looks down at his palms. They're trembling.
He closes them into fists.
A galaxy behind him explodes.
[Page 16]
[VISUAL]A dying child floating in a space station watches him on a monitor.
Rain tilts his head, watching them like a fish in a bowl.
He lifts a finger—
The feed cuts.
[Page 17]
[VISUAL]Rain floats in the middle of nowhere now.
Dead stars drift around him.
His smile is gone.
His eyes flicker—like someone waking up from a blackout.
Just a whisper escapes:
RAIN (V.O.):Please… make it stop.
[Page 18 – Final Page]
[VISUAL]His hand lifts again.
But this time, it shakes.
He's trying to resist.
He looks at it like a stranger.
A tear floats away from his face, dissolving into starlight.
NARRATION (RAIN, V.O.):I wanted to understand it.But I wasn't ready to see it.The dragon isn't power.It's hunger.And I gave it my body.
[Page 19]
[VISUAL]Interior – Main Corridor of the Ship. The docking hatch decompresses with a hiss.
KAI steps inside—winded, jacket half-zipped, boots scuffed. He looks around, eyes already searching.
KAI:Yo. Where's Rain?
[Page 20]
[VISUAL]DAWN, still sitting by the medbay, glances up, face pale. She's holding a mug with trembling fingers.
DAWN:Last I saw him…He was just outside. Floating. Messing around.Doing Rain shit.
[VISUAL]She forces a weak laugh. It doesn't land.
[Page 21]
[VISUAL]KAI freezes. His whole body stiffens.
KAI:You let him outside?
DAWN:Relax. He was—he was fine.
KAI (cutting her off):Fine?!This isn't some anime beach filler arc, Dawn. He's a walking celestial event. He can't just be "outside."
[Page 22]
[VISUAL]KAI storms into the bridge, snapping his fingers toward a nearby console. VEE PRIME materializes as a flickering hard-light projection.
KAI:VEE. Track Rain. Now.
VEE PRIME (processing):Locating...Cross-referencing ship registry…Confirmed: Rain is current Owner-Class Administrator.
VEE PRIME:…He is no longer within local star proximity.
[Page 23]
[VISUAL]KAI's expression shatters. Dawn steps in behind him, breath catching.
DAWN:Wait… what does that mean?
VEE PRIME:Rain has departed the ship's outer orbit at light-fold velocity. He is currently untraceable through traditional sensors.
VEE PRIME (grim):However… anomalies matching his unique biometric signature are being recorded across twenty-seven systems.
[Page 24]
[VISUAL]Kai slams his fist against the console. Sparks fly. His voice shakes.
KAI:Damn it, I told him. I told him not to dive too deep into that thing!
DAWN (softly):You think the dragon took over?
KAI:No.I think he gave it permission.
[Page 25]
[VISUAL]The screen displays a cosmic heat map. Systems blinking red, entire clusters marked "EXTINCT".
VEE PRIME:The path he's leaving behind… it's not just movement.It's erasure.
[Page 26]
[VISUAL]DAWN, shaken but holding it together, stares out the window into empty space. LUNA's cloak still hangs nearby, forgotten.
DAWN (quietly):Then we have to bring him back. Before there's nothing left to bring back.
[VISUAL]Cut to Rain, drifting unconscious in deep space. His body is cracked with gold light.Eyes fluttering. Hands twitching.
And in the reflection of his eye—Another galaxy. Next.
