Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Fury

The crack of lightning shattered the silence, and in that moment, time seemed to slow around Jason. His vision blurred, but through the haze, he saw his sister—huddled on the floor, writhing in pain, tears streaming down her face. Fury ignited in his chest, a wildfire consuming everything in its path.

Blinded by rage, Jason ignored his body's limits. He wasn't ready to handle this much energy at his age, but he didn't care. He needed more. Without thinking, he reached deep, yanking at the power within him, demanding more speed, more strength—more everything. His body screamed in protest, but he refused to listen. He had to move faster. He had to act.

Electricity surged through his veins, raw and untamed, a flood of power driven by pure, unrelenting rage. Agony followed—a searing, unbearable pain ripping through every inch of him. But it didn't matter. The pain was nothing compared to the fire inside him. His fury propelled him forward, pushing him beyond control, beyond reason—beyond limits.

With a roar, he forced himself to his feet, twisting and shifting his body in a fluid motion as the man moved to pull the trigger. Jason's hand shot out, grabbing the gun with brutal force and driving it into the man's Mouth his finger instinctively pulling the trigger. Blood splattered, painting the air in crimson as the man's life was snuffed out in an instant.

But Jason's wrath was insatiable. No, it wasn't enough. There were still more. They all had to die! His eyes burned with unfiltered rage, a storm of fury demanding to be unleashed.

Yellow lightning crackled around Jason, wild and untamed, a storm breaking free from its chains. His hand shot out, still gripping the gun, and in a blur of motion—bang.

One bullet tore through a man's eye, the impact slowing only as it burrowed into his brain. Another shot shattered the jaw of the next, blood spraying as he crumpled.

Jason's gaze locked onto an attacker with a machete strapped to his side. In a blur, he lunged, ripping the weapon from its scabbard before the man could react. With ruthless precision, he drove the blade deep into his neck. Steel sliced through flesh and bone with a sickening crunch. As Jason wrenched it free, the man crumpled to the ground, blood pouring from the gaping wound.

Screams erupted around him—but he wasn't done. Not yet.

"What the hell is that?!" one of the armed men shouted, panic creeping into his voice.

"Shoot it!" another yelled, but the words were a breath too late.

Jason moved too fast—before they could even process what was happening, they were already dead.

Then, without pause, his fists became a relentless blur. Each strike landed with bone-shattering force, the sheer speed of his blows merging into a vicious onslaught. The man beneath him screamed, his cries choked by the brutal punishment as his face was reduced to a mangled mess.

With one final punch, a sickening crack echoed through the air—then silence.

The final man panicked, turned and bolted, but Jason was faster. With a snarl, he blocked the man's escape, his speed a blur. His grip tightened impossibly, fueled by raw, unrelenting strength. Jason seized the man, pinning him in place, his hands wrapping around his head with deadly precision. His eyes burned with cold, merciless fire as he stared into the man's terrified gaze.

Without hesitation, Jason slammed his skull against the nearest surface, the impact echoing through the room, leaving only silence in its wake.

Jason stood there, breathing heavily, the storm still raging within him. The chaos, the fury—it wasn't over.

He turned his gaze away from the lifeless man, his eyes locking onto the lab workers in their white coats. The moment they saw him, their faces went pale, panic flickering in their eyes. But Jason's power surged so fast, so violently, that to the human eye, he was little more than a blur. Rage still burned through him, and in that moment, the thought of slaughtering them all was too easy.

But then—

"Brother…" Her voice, a fragile whimper, pierced through the storm of fury raging inside him. It cut through the chaos, clear and unmistakable. Charlotte.

Without a second thought, Jason's body surged into motion. In an instant, he was by Charlotte's side, scooping her into his arms, and with a blur of speed, he raced toward the nearest hospital. The world around him was a dizzying whirl, every step a blur of motion, but his focus remained sharp—getting her to safety.

"Please… don't die," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. His entire body vibrated uncontrollably, the unstable energy within him refusing to settle. Trembling hands gently set Charlotte down as his tear-filled eyes remained locked on her fragile form. Doctors rushed in, their voices a distant blur, but Jason barely registered them. He stood frozen for a moment, his breath ragged, his mind screaming at him to stay—yet the pain, the unbearable agony, clawed at him. Then, without another word, he turned and vanished, a streak of lightning cutting through the city like a dying star.

The pain hit—too much, too fast. His body screamed in protest, every fiber of his being ablaze from the strain of moving at impossible speeds. His clothes caught fire, turning to ash as he pushed past his limits, forcing himself beyond what his body could endure.

A strangled gasp escaped him, the world spinning violently out of control. His legs gave out, and he crashed to the ground, stumbling toward a nearby lake. The cold water enveloped him, offering a fleeting moment of relief before the darkness claimed him.
