Chapter 30: Chapter 30: What is the Sequel to Peter Pettigrew?
Redemption, despair, soul, I know every word, but when I put them together, I feel like an illiterate.
Loren's doubts were not answered. After explaining the words, Dumbledore and Nico exchanged pleasantries and took Loren away.
"Principal, I have some questions."
The two walked on the wet street again. Loren just followed Dumbledore blankly, his thoughts were in a mess.
"It is the duty of every teacher to answer students' questions, isn't it?" Dumbledore seemed to be on an outing, enjoying the weather and environment, and his tone was also very pleasant.
"Why did Mr. Nicolas Flamel dream that the mysterious man said to give me the book?"
"Loren, there are still many things in the magical world that are difficult to explain, and prophecy is one of them. Most prophecies are very obscure and unclear, but there are some exceptions."
"Do you mean that Mr. Flamel actually made a prophecy?" Loren asked in confusion.
"To be precise, he made a prophecy passively. Nico has a talent for prophecy, but prophecy is always difficult to control."
"You will also learn courses related to prophecy in the future. Professor Trelawney of Divination is an excellent prophet."
Loren ignored the latter sentence and continued to ask: "Why is he obviously helping me, but seems to be deliberately alienating me?"
Dumbledore touched Loren's head: "This is not your problem, Loren, people involved in the prophecy should stay away, or ignore the content of the prophecy, otherwise it will bring unimaginable consequences."
Dumbledore thought of some past events. Sometimes the prophecy itself contributed to the result of the prophecy.
"I don't know what to do, Principal Dumbledore." Loren was still confused.
There were more and more puddles ahead. Dumbledore took Loren's hand and said, "Just study hard and do your homework. That's about it."
Loren looked like he didn't think I was a kid and could fool him. He grinned at Dumbledore and said, "Ah~"
He then asked, "What is the salvation of a desperate soul?"
Dumbledore was very patient and spoke slowly and steadily: "Loren, you have to know that being older doesn't mean knowing everything. But I can give you some advice when the time comes."
"You can just say you don't know." Loren changed the subject. "Has there been any result on Peter Pettigrew's case?"
Dumbledore did not hide anything and began to talk about the progress of the case.
Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge originally believed that the criminal was Sirius Black, and Peter's hiding in the Weasley family was another case.
But with the help of Moody, an old friend of Dumbledore, Pettigrew admitted that he had surrendered to the Dark Lord ten years ago, blew up the streets, and took the opportunity to fake his death.
In fact, the matter was much more complicated than what Dumbledore said. Pettigrew had insisted that he was hiding from the Death Eaters at the Weasleys' house. He believed that the remnants of the Dark Lord were still active and wanted to kill him.
Moody saw Pettigrew's guilty conscience and flaws, and interrogated Pettigrew alone for an afternoon in an empty room in the deepest part of the Ministry of Magic.
According to the Auror on duty, when he first entered, Pettigrew was still quibbling loudly, but soon the quibbling turned into wailing. Within 5 minutes, Pettigrew began to beg for mercy, but he didn't hear Moody ask any questions. There was only wailing in the room, which lasted for several hours.
Finally, when a new Auror came in to call Moody for dinner, Pettigrew asked with snot and tears to keep the madman away from him, and quickly confessed everything that happened that year.
Moody left the rest of the work to others, and as he left the room, he muttered, "I thought he was a tough guy, bah, a cowardly scum."
Strangely, there were no scars on Pettigrew's body afterwards, and the Ministry of Magic did not detect any magic used by Moody. The result of the flashback spell was that Moody had used several Lumos Charms a day ago.
The Aurors then interrogated another person involved in the old case, Sirius.
Sirius was initially very uncooperative, saying nothing the entire time, with a blank look in his eyes like a dead person.
Some Aurors thought that the Dementor had sucked him silly, but after learning that Pettigrew had been arrested, Sirius was suddenly excited, as if he had been reborn, and quickly confessed the case, and his confession was basically the same as Pettigrew's.
Fudge was convinced that this was an unjust case left by the previous minister, and that helping to find the real murderer and redressing Sirius would help improve his reputation, and the Black family might donate a large sum of Galleons to the ministry.
However, Dumbledore did not tell Loren about these, he just sighed: "There was a period of chaos after the war, and I was a little negligent in Sirius's affairs." There was guilt in his tone.
At that time, he was busy dealing with various things, comforting the families of the victims, punishing the Death Eaters, and negotiating with some pure-blood families to ask them to contribute funds to compensate the victims and rebuild after the war.
Sirius was wrongfully imprisoned, and a big reason was his own fault. He smiled like a pervert at the crime scene and did not defend himself after being arrested, so he was directly imprisoned.
"The final result is that there will be a public trial next Wednesday to announce the punishment for Pettigrew. Sirius should be able to regain his freedom by then."
Loren thought the result was very good, and Harry should be very happy, but Ron's chestnut wand should be lost.
After talking all the way, Dumbledore finally brought Loren to a candy store.
At first, Loren thought it might be a secret contact point of the Ministry of Magic. Just when Loren was about to see what kind of ceremony Dumbledore would go through to enter a secret base—
Dumbledore skillfully took out a pound and handed it to the clerk: "Still the same as always, pack a little of each, and put more hazelnut chocolate."
The clerk chatted with Dumbledore while packing the candy, looking very familiar.
Loren's jaw almost dropped to the ground. You took me so far just to buy candy!
You are over a hundred years old, why are you so childish.
Dumbledore took the bag of packed candies and saw Loren's mouth open in surprise. He picked up a piece of mint candy and put it into Loren's mouth: "Muggle candies also have a unique flavor. I love the hazelnut chocolate here the most."
The refreshing and cool fragrance spread around the tongue, and saliva was seduced and secreted wildly. Loren quickly closed his mouth and sipped the sweetness of the candy.
Finally, the two came to an empty alley. Dumbledore held the candy bag in one hand and held Loren in the other hand. He recited a spell that Loren had never heard of. The two instantly returned to the Hogwarts Castle and the principal's office.
In the office, Loren saw a bird with fiery red feathers—the Phoenix Fawkes.
Although it had a golden feather, it still looked ugly overall, Loren thought secretly.
Fawkes, who was perched on Dumbledore's desk, suddenly shouted at Loren, "Chi!" The sound was not like any bird Loren knew, but Loren inexplicably heard that it was scolding him.
"Goodbye, Headmaster!" Loren hurried away, or he would be hit by a bird if he didn't leave.
Dumbledore looked at Loren running out, picked up a piece of candy and fed it to Fawkes with a smile: "Well, he's just a child."
He smoothed the feathers of the phoenix with his hands and wiped the icing powder off his hands.
Now Fawkes also shouted at Dumbledore.
