Days as a Spiritual Mentor in American Comics

Chapter 4767: Chapter 3840: The School Doctor's "Daily Life" (18)

"How would I know? This is a magic academy, many people can use magic. Erasing traces is simple enough. Ordinary methods can't pinpoint the target."

"But you still discovered it."

"So did you."

"This proves two possibilities," Primary Universe Batman said, "Either his magic level is similar to ours and he can't erase traces well with magic; or he doesn't care—he simply doesn't care if someone discovers those traces. Which do you think it is?"

"The traces I saw in the Magic Forest were quite obvious. What about you?"

"The ones in the library were similar. They didn't seem to intend to conceal them."

"They?"

"Yes, didn't you only see traces of one person?"

Night Owl fell silent, obviously lost in thought. Primary Universe Batman didn't ask further because he knew Night Owl could no longer reveal more.

Primary Universe Batman knew he had an information advantage. Because that day, he saw two Shillers heading towards the Magic Forest, while Night Owl only found traces of one person. This not only doesn't contradict the clues mentioned above but is also strong evidence.

Because both of them were Shiller, looking exactly the same, height, weight, and footprints naturally identical. No matter what traces they left in the Magic Forest, it would look like they were left by one person.

Batman didn't believe Shiller was a Black Magician, after all, Shiller is far more evil than a Black Magician. He felt there's something strange about all this, a dissonance that's hard to describe.

Batman rarely trusts inexplicable intuition; most of the time he'd rather let the evidence speak. After ruling out all impossible answers, the remaining one, however absurd, is the truth. But, regarding Shiller, things are an exception. It's best to trust intuition to judge Shiller's affairs.

After the flying class ended, apart from Bruce, no other Batman could fly. But few other students could lift off either, so they didn't stand out.

After class, Primary Universe Batman, Arkham Batman, and Big Adventure Batman gathered together.

"The progress of privately setting up the internet connection needs to be speeded up," Primary Universe Batman said, "There's still nothing important this afternoon, I plan to skip class and go to the secret room to research. If we're quick, we might try connecting to the internet tonight. We must know the situation outside."

"I heard the internet here can connect to the intergalactic internet," Arkham Batman said, "Maybe we can even learn about the cosmos. If that's true, that would be great."

Batmen vaguely heard before they arrived, Earth here had entered the interstellar era. There seemed to have been some major event before, but they didn't know the specifics. For Batman, this kind of information is very important; only by understanding the macro situation can many things be correctly judged.

After lunch, the Primary Universe Batman went straight into the secret room and started the network research. It sounds complicated, but the principle is quite simple—just shape the magic energy into an antenna and extend it outward until it connects to the network.

The challenging part is how to shape the magic energy into an antenna. When magic energy has no limit, this is simple—just imagine whether a 20-kilometer diameter antenna isn't an antenna.

But now, the energy in Primary Universe Batman's possession is limited. The three of them together have just three magic wands, borrowing from classmates might only add up to five or six.

Magic wands can be recharged if they run out, but if the magic power is exhausted so quickly, it would definitely arouse suspicion from the professor. Therefore, Primary Universe Batman must create this antenna with as little magic power as possible.

Luckily, the library has extensive books analyzing the principles of the magical defense network. The magical defense network contains similar principles. After careful research, Primary Universe Batman finally successfully crafted the antenna that evening.

There's no need for a screen; magic itself can achieve holographic projection effects, even clearer than most screens in the world. When connecting to the network, countless information appeared on the screen.

This isn't the usual convenient interactive interface people use, but various kinds of program codes. Primary Universe Batman adjusted it until it transformed into an interface similar to a mobile phone.

"I downloaded a few software from the popularity list," Primary Universe Batman said, "Some are similar to what I have, some I don't. You guys check if you have them there."

Arkham Batman glanced and shook his head, "Most I haven't seen, probably unique to this side."

Primary Universe Batman first clicked on the top popular software, it's a black icon with a musical note. He thought it was music software, but when he opened the homepage, it was a beauty dancing energetically.

Primary Universe Batman awkwardly swiped a bit, and then he saw a familiar face—Iron Man Tony Stark.

He was wearing a blue battle armor, soaring through the skies, landing heavily on the ground, striking a superhero landing pose, then suddenly looked up, his face guard opening, revealing his handsome face.

This short video, merely over ten seconds, had tens of thousands of likes, with thousands of comments. Primary Universe Batman couldn't resist clicking on the comments, finding that it's mainly an argument below.

Someone said this account is an imposter; some other account is the real one; someone said this model of battle armor existed years ago, Iron Man is out of ideas; some said Stark is handsome, some said he's ugly; others asked if Stark is going to divorce soon.

"Is this a video software?" Arkham Batman said, "Watching vertical videos like these is quite fresh. See what else is there."

Primary Universe Batman swiped a bit more, and then came another familiar face—Captain America was introducing his 100th birthday commemorative badge to the camera. He wore a white shirt that made his blue eyes look even bluer.

"...This one is absolutely unique, and the craftsmanship is the best among all the birthday badges over the years. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised when I received it. All my loyal fans bought a set, and when they asked me about its appreciation value, I would say it's probably no less than the sacrificial commemorative edition..."

"Didn't expect their daily lives to be like this," Big Adventure Batman chuckled, "It's quite interesting."

"Maybe that's the advantage of being a real-name hero." Primary Universe Batman discovered more functions. He clicked on Captain America's homepage and found more of his videos there, but because he wasn't logged in, he couldn't follow him.

He continued to scroll down, and it was all Superhero videos—now Spider Man, then Spider Man, and again Spider Man. And basically, every Spider Man was teaching others how to identify different Spider Men.

"Looks like the Spider situation in this universe is rampant," Arkham Batman said, "It's reached the level of a public nuisance."

Big Adventure Batman started recalling what happened when he encountered Spider Man in Battleworld, then nodded quite agreeably: "Can't imagine how noisy it must be."

After the Spider tide passed, mutant tides appeared, with various Mutants doing abstract antics online, mixed with plenty of Andromeda Galaxy scenery and international news from New Xanadu Country.

The Batmen quickly judged from these messages that it seems like the Mutants in this universe have already split off on their own. They've established a country on Earth and occupied a Star System in the cosmos.

But recalling Magneto and Professor X encountered in Battleworld, especially when facing them in scenarios with no limits on their abilities, the Batmen found this quite normal.

"Other universes don't have this," Arkham Batman said, "The Mutants in other universes have a tough time. They've made a lot of big events in their universe, but nothing has changed. Here it's actually more normal."

They continued to scroll down and came across Wanda and JARVIS's couple channel. This wasn't too surprising, considering their behavior in school clearly showed they were a couple.

Following Wanda and JARVIS, they scrolled to their previous video of playing cards. Quite famous Superheroes showed up, and the card game was really lively.

Then, along with the card game video, they scrolled to Shiller's video of greeting other Superheroes with a phone.

"Looks like our Doctor is quite a busy man online," Arkham Batman said.

Scrolling to Shiller's greeting video naturally led to his cooking video, and then to Steve's 100th birthday party showcasing the dishes, along with a Black blogger's review.

Following this video, they scrolled to more of Shiller's videos, some of him appearing in Stark's documentary, attending Stark's wedding, and participating in Superheroes' parties.

The arguments decreased a lot below; most people were praising Shiller's handsomeness or charisma.

As the special videos kept scrolling, the Batmen soon came across Shiller's school doctor appearance. This wasn't anything surprising; although the school wasn't connected to the internet, no one forbade taking photos to post later at home.

But soon, the Batmen sensed something was off, because the comment section was all about the movie, sometimes saying Shiller played a good guy, other times saying he played a villain. These comments puzzled the Batmen.

Primary Universe Batman quickly turned off the short video app, then used the search app to look up "Movie 'Ilvermorny'" and read all kinds of reviews, analyses, director interviews, and behind-the-scenes stories under the related entries.

After reading them, the three were silent.

Good heavens, it turns out they are making a movie. No wonder it's full of simplistic puzzles, rudimentary escape rooms, a pretentious Magic Forest, and a catalog that reads like a fairy tale book.

"Wait," Arkham Batman said, "but they really are teaching us magic."

"Yes, this proves that establishing this magical school wasn't just for filming a movie. Filming was just incidental."

"I really can't believe such a huge school was just recently built," Big Adventure Batman felt like he opened a new world, "With this speed, rebuilding Gotham wouldn't even take a month, right?"

"Wake up," Primary Universe Batman reminded, "First, we'd need that much Magic Energy, and secondly, we'd need that many Grand Mages."

They had already seen the entire process of building the Magic Academy on various news—it was indeed amazing, but obviously, the energy consumption was also astonishing. If it were their universe, they would never agree to waste so much Magic Energy building this thing.

"I have an idea," Primary Universe Batman said, "We found out online that the recent oddities in the school were setting up a movie scene, but other Batmen don't know, especially Night Owl doesn't."

Arkham Batman also caught on: "Exactly, he probably thinks there's some Black Magician sneaking around the school."

Primary Universe Batman quietly watched the movie scene playing on the screen, then said: "The movie background is quite detailed, which shows the prop team's high level. It's enough to fool the average audience, but fooling Batman isn't that easy."

"Yeah, didn't you notice something off from the catalog?"

"We can give them a hand, make this matter more solid," Primary Universe Batman said, "and at the same time, create a trap aimed at Night Owl."

"You mean..."

Primary Universe Batman walked behind the table, took a black magic book from the bookshelf, and said: "There's no better prop team in the world than us."
