Dark Magus Returns

There was a reason why Red had asked to link up. So he could directly share his memories and thoughts with Zon.

The reason Zon had been chasing Red was twofold, one was to make him pay for what he had done to the All Knowing that day. When he had entered for a meeting, he had seen Red's body standing over the one who had been in charge of everything, the person behind their victory.

What Zon never understood was why Red had done such a thing. He had his own thoughts and ideas. The war had come to an end, a victor finally in sight.

Red was bloodthirsty, everyone in the Red Fortis army knew that. At times of war, these were the ones that were needed. Perhaps the end of the war meant that those like Red were no longer needed, so killing the All Knowing might even ignite a spark for the fighting to start up again.

"Don't listen to him!" Anna shouted. "Who knows what he's up to. Maybe if you connect with him, he has some item from Alter or something that will corrupt us… we haven't been able to trust him nearly the whole time he was in the Red Fortis army, so why would you trust him now?"

Red smiled as he heard those words. His body was clearly weak, but he could tell, the disruption that had been caused by Anna's item was wearing off and his nanobots were starting to heal him.

What he also knew was the other two could tell that as well. That, in a matter of time, he would be back up on his feet.

"Well I would tell you what happened, but I don't think you would believe me just with my words. You would say I altered my voice so it passes your lie detection system." Red spoke weakly. "I know, why don't you take the system out of me.

"And place it in yourself. I won't be under control of it then. You can see through everything that's there."

"Take out your system," Zon stated. "If we did that, in the state you are in now, all of the nanobots would stop operating in your body, you would die."

Red started to laugh.

"And now you're worried about me? I thought you had come here to kill me. I thought you had already made it so deep down you had made the decision. To get rid of me, so what difference does it make?

"Doesn't it mean that you achieve both of your objectives?"

Anna and Zon looked at each other. It was true, they weren't going to let him get back to his regular self, and they weren't going to trust him. Taking out his system meant it would be the end for Red.

Zon walked over while Anna kept a careful eye over what was happening. She was making sure there weren't any sudden movements from Red.

As Zon went down, he lifted Red's head and then placed his hand on the back of his neck. His hand started to change and morph into what looked like a surgical tool.

"Captain," Red said. "I'm happy it was you."

It was the last words that were spoken as Zon had already removed the system from the back of his head. There was only one more breath from Red and then there was no more.

Zon stood back up, and jumped to where Anna was.

"Did he say anything?" Anna asked.

"He… just said he was happy it was me," Zon replied.

"Well, you can read the information from the system. I'll cover you if any of the fighting comes this far while you're looking through it." Anna claimed.

Zon nodded, and then his hand started to change and morph again, his eyes started to glow as he was accessing what he wanted from the system itself. Everything it recorded, everything it had seen from when Red had the system implanted in him.

Then he finally found out. When Red was in the main room, the All Knowing had called him in for a meeting, and Red was standing there face to face with him on his own.

"It's safe to say that the Red Fortis Army has done everything they can in this war," the All Knowing said. "It's because of all of you that we were able to succeed. You did what the outside public can never know.

"You are the secret heroes in this fight that will take all the atrocities made deep down within you. Do you understand, Red?"

"What are you saying, sir?" Red asked.

"There was a reason why you have been given the latest and most advanced system out of all of them. You are stronger, better, faster than them in every way. This is the last order to you, Red, as the All Knowing. You are to eliminate the Red Fortis group."

Red was so shocked, he had said nothing. He spoke no words for a while.

"We have seen your work, seen what you have done. You are the only person suitable to keep under our command. That is what our special machine, the real All Knowing, has told us." The All Knowing then pointed to the large computer contraption.

Which had helped them in the fight and predicted, given every order for them to win the war.

"Why must they be eliminated?" Red asked. "Because a machine told them so? You want to get rid of all of the Red Fortis army? I think you have made a grave mistake in telling me this.

"Because I'm part of the Red Fortis army as well!" Red grabbed the All Knowing's head right after, and created an energy blade stabbing it right through the old man's head.

Shortly after, he used the energy blasts to destroy the large computer in the back and continued to fire away.

Eventually, Red had stopped, and let go of the All Knowing's body, and that was when Zon had come rushing in, due to all of the noise, seeing the All Knowing on the floor and Red standing beside his body.

"RED!!!" Zon screamed.

That was the end of the memory. Now Zon had learnt the truth about Red and what had occurred back then.
