Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1127: Day of the Funureal (Part 1)

The news was devastating for the two brothers, to say the least. They were currently located in the deepest part of the Neverfall Clan, where the searing heat was at its strongest. Yet, the heat was nothing compared to the news that they had just heard from the elders in front of them.

"How can you break a lineage like that, to completely just push a stranger from outside right to the top!" Fing shouted. "It makes no sense."

"I have to say, for once I agree with what my brother is saying," Han added. "He has never trained in this base along with the others. He hasn't shared the same bond or gone through the same process. You are trusting everything to a man that has taken over the Dark Faction. I imagine, our father would be rolling in his grave if he knew this was taking place."

The reaction was more than expected from the Elders, but they needed to make sure to bring this up before the funeral of Belil. As the other Demonic Factions would be expecting to hear news of what the Neverfall Clan was planning to do now.

The announcement had to be strong, for in the Demonic Faction, no matter what was happening or taking place with the other faction, at any point a fight could break out from in between. Even between clans with weaker power.

If there was a chance to take advantage of a situation, it would be used.

"What you are saying right now, is you don't have confidence that our names, after everything we have done for the clan, are strong enough to carry the weight to protect it, and that you need to use this name of an outsider?" Han asked.

From the reluctant look from the elders to make eye contact, it felt like Han had hit the nail on the head.

"You should know that strength is what matters the most in the Demonic Clan," the Elder claimed. "We have to get through this situation after such a big loss, and right now the Dark Magus is a respected figure."

Another elder then chimed in before Fing could speak up as well. "At the end of the day, the Elders, including you two, are able to cast a vote for the next head. We have all come to this decision regardless of the two of your votes, but as you know, if you disagree, you can always do it the old-fashioned way."

"The old-fashioned way?" Fing asked, as he had never been through a changing of heads in the Neverfall Clan. It had always been their father since they were born.

"At the end of the day, the Demonic Clan cared about power above all. If you disagree with the situation, then you can always ask for a duel with the Dark Magus," the elder claimed.

Both of the brothers looked at each other at the same time. They had already fought against Raze, and the situation didn't end in their favor. This hadn't occurred just once, but twice they had lost to Raze.

There hadn't been much time since that loss, so it wasn't as if the two of them had grown in strength.

"We will remember this," Han said as he stood up, knowing full well that any further talking was just a lost cause. "You don't even know if the Dark Magus will accept the proposal, and when it falls, the only two that will care enough for this clan is us two, and do you really think we will just pick up the mess that you have caused.

"If we have to at that point, then we will get rid of every single one of you."

Han turned around with his brother to exit out of the room, and one of the Elders stood up, face furious, until another grabbed his arm, stopping him.

"Did you not hear what they said, they have no respect for us at all!"

"It's fine, did you not expect something like this would happen. We have to live with the choices we made, and if anything, I believe that this shows that they at least care about the clan. Belil…I just wish you would have told us more what you were thinking before just leaving like that."

Finally, despite everything that had happened, it was finally the day. The funeral was set to take place at exactly midday. It was early morning, and the Neverfall clan as well as several of the other leaders were all mingling with each other.

Food was being served in the temporary housing locations, and they were talking about the situation of the Demonic Clan, as well as what had been happening so far.

At some places, near enough break out fights were about to happen, but Rayna herself had gotten involved, swinging her spear down in the middle of the two clans, stating that today was not the day.

There would be no fighting amongst them. However, most of the clan leaders were asking one question.

"If Rayna is here, where is the Dark Magus, he should be here as well, as the son-in-law of the great Neverfall clan family."

"I've been hearing rumors that he might be even the one to take over the Neverfall Clan. If that happens, he will have the most power in the entire of Pagna."

"Do you think then…we would be going to war. With him, the Dark Faction and the Demonic Faction would be somewhat united. Wouldn't it be easy to then take over the Light Faction, and for the first time in history, Pagna would be united under one banner."

Several of them nodded as they were talking to each other in a circle. While their own clan members seemed to be fighting amongst each other. Until word had reached them that made them turn their heads.

"The Dark Magus, he's arriving, he's arriving everyone."

At that point, nearly all five hundred or so people that were in the location turned their heads.
