Dao of Trading

Chapter 3: The First Trials

The training hall of the Hundred Market Sect was filled with the murmurs of hopeful traders, each absorbed in their own struggles to decipher the secrets of the market. The air was thick with ambition, frustration, and the unrelenting pursuit of understanding. Ling Feng sat cross-legged before a massive scroll of candlestick formations, his brow furrowed in deep contemplation. Yet something still eluded him.

Master Tian Yuan stood beside him, his gaze calm but watchful. "Tell me, Ling Feng, what do you see?"

Ling Feng studied the chart before him, tracing each movement with his fingers. "A bullish trend, higher highs and higher lows. The market is clearly favoring the buyers."

Tian Yuan shook his head. "You are seeing the surface, not the depths. Look beyond what is obvious."

Ling Feng frowned but refocused. He examined the shifts in volume, the wicks of the candles, the size of the price movements. Still, he hesitated.

Tian Yuan sighed. "You are not looking at the true force that drives the market." He reached out and tapped a section of the chart. "Look here. This sharp upward movement—was it caused by genuine buying pressure, or did someone create the illusion of strength?"

Ling Feng's eyes widened. He had been so focused on what had happened that he had never questioned why it had happened.

For the first time, he realized he was blind.

His training had only just begun.

Over the next weeks, Ling Feng was introduced to the deeper mechanics of order flow, delta shifts, and liquidity traps. He learned to see the battles between buyers and sellers not as abstract movements on a chart, but as a war being waged in real-time.

Tian Yuan drilled him relentlessly. "Do not follow the market. Read the intent of those who move it."

Each lesson chipped away at his old beliefs, replacing them with a new, deeper understanding. He saw traps where others saw breakouts. He saw weakness where others saw strength. The veil of illusion was lifting.

Yet, despite his progress, he remained plagued by doubt. His newfound knowledge did not yet translate into execution. He hesitated before taking trades, second-guessed his setups, and let opportunities slip by.

Tian Yuan observed in silence before finally speaking. "If you do not trust your own knowledge, you will always remain a step behind. The market rewards decisiveness, not hesitation."

The words burned into Ling Feng's mind.

He vowed that by the time he left the Hundred Market Sect, he would no longer hesitate.

The first true test awaited him.
