Danmachi: Strongest Familia

Chapter 148: Chapter 148: The Foresighted Morgana

[Note: Irelia fighting Janna.]

——

The two women strolled through the streets. Although Janna hadn't changed her attire, a gentle breeze swirled around her, forming a thin veil of air.

It was skillfully maintained at just the right level—seeming to reveal something while obscuring everything clearly.

To avoid drawing too much attention, Janna chose to walk with her feet touching the ground, rather than floating as she normally would.

Their walk was casual, but Morgana, as the head of a Familia that had recently made waves in Orario, inevitably attracted the attention of many adventurers.

Some even approached her on the street, eager to join her Familia.

However, Morgana rejected them all.

She still had unfinished business with the adventurers from the Apollo Familia and wasn't interested in recruiting wandering adventurers at the moment.

Besides, she planned to hold a formal recruitment meeting later. If anyone was genuinely interested, they would come at that time.

Janna, meanwhile, garnered attention for entirely different reasons. Unlike Morgana's fame, her allure came from her striking beauty.

The gossamer veil of wind around her body, teasingly opaque yet not quite transparent, stirred a deep curiosity in onlookers.

No matter the world, wherever there was life, there would always be plenty of curious gazes.

——

"By the way," Morgana said, breaking the silence, "since you'll be creating a Familia soon, why not register it now?"

"I don't mind. I have time," Janna replied without hesitation.

Establishing a Familia was indeed necessary. It would be the first step in preparing a home for the future children of Zaun.

She decided it would be wise to create the Familia first and then focus on finding a proper base for it.

"Alright then, let's go! I need to visit the guild anyway to take care of a few things."

With that, Morgana changed direction, and the two goddesses made their way to the guild hall.

——

Although Misha had taken on the role of adventurer advisor for the Morgana and Kyle Familias, she often helped out at the front desk.

Spotting Morgana as she entered, Misha wasted no time greeting her benefactor with enthusiasm.

Morgana found her quickly—or rather, Misha found Morgana.

Misha owed much of her recent success to Morgana.

Over the past weeks, her life had been nothing short of delightful.

Especially after Morgana's Familia utterly crushed the Apollo Familia, Misha's status within the guild had risen sharply, putting her on par with her predecessor, Saria.

——

"Who is this goddess, Morgana-sama?"

Janna's presence was hard to miss. Even if Morgana hadn't introduced her, Misha would have noticed her immediately.

This was another unfamiliar goddess, and she had been brought here by Morgana herself.

Could she be a representative of yet another powerful Familia in Orario?

"What are you smirking at? This is my divine friend, Janna—a goddess who has just descended to the lower realm."

Considering that Janna's Familia currently had no members, introducing her as a newly descended goddess fit perfectly.

---

A new goddess in the lower realm…

Misha felt a slight twinge of disappointment but didn't let it show.

"Help her register her Familia. I'll handle the rest with you later," Morgana said casually.

"Understood. I'll submit the application to the guild after completing the registration."

Ordinarily, the guild should be informed before such a registration. However, with Misha's current influence in the guild, applying afterward wouldn't pose much of a problem.

Morgana nodded, satisfied. With Misha's assistance, Janna's Familia was officially registered in no time.

——

Meanwhile, with the help of other guild members, Morgana finalized the process of obtaining the remaining assets of the Apollo Familia.

Her main objective for coming here was to claim the Apollo Familia's former estate.

These funds were raised by selling off flashy and unnecessary possessions from the Apollo Familia's holdings.

To save time and effort, Morgana entrusted these items to the guild for sale. While this meant accepting slightly lower prices, it was far more convenient.

——

"Next, follow me to check out the former Apollo Familia's residence," Morgana said.

"What exactly are you planning to do?" Janna asked with mild suspicion.

She had a rough idea of Morgana's intentions but didn't know the specifics.

Still, it didn't seem like Morgana was hiding anything malicious.

"Oh, don't look at me like that!" Morgana protested, feigning displeasure. But Janna's cold, unreadable expression quickly made her pout.

"Fine, I'll tell you. I want to join forces with you! A full alliance between our two Familias."

"Aren't you already aligned with Lord Kyle?" Janna asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Tch. Kyle? It's only temporary! I'll definitely surpass her eventually!" Morgana declared confidently.

"Sol-sama wouldn't want us to quarrel among ourselves," Janna pointed out calmly.

"This isn't quarreling; it's internal competition!" Morgana corrected her with mock seriousness.

"I'm not sure what the children of Zaun will think, but personally, I would be happy to form an alliance with you."

Janna accepted Morgana's offer without hesitation. By the time the children of Zaun arrived, Morgana's Familia would likely have grown much stronger.

Having a powerful ally would undoubtedly be advantageous.

——

Morgana smiled in satisfaction, clearly pleased with Janna's decision.

Despite being a goddess tied to Zaun, Janna's reputation extended far beyond. Many who lived by the sea also revered her.

In the future, not only Zaun but many heroes from Piltover, the Sea of Conquest, and Bilgewater might also join Janna's Familia.

To Morgana, this made Janna a valuable ally.

——

"You don't have any other plans, do you?" Janna asked skeptically.

"Of course not! It's heartbreaking that you don't trust me," Morgana replied, feigning hurt.

"My apologies. I'll try to be more open-minded," Janna said, though her tone remained unchanged.

Even with those words, Morgana couldn't detect any real shift in Janna's demeanor.

It'll take time, I suppose…

——

"Let's go! To the former Apollo Familia's residence. I've already cleaned it up," Morgana announced.

"Really…"

Janna couldn't shake the feeling that something about Morgana's enthusiasm was off—particularly when she mentioned the Apollo Familia's residence.

Still, she followed Morgana to the estate.

The spacious building was impressive, and Morgana wasted no time showing her around.

But as they toured the residence, Morgana's overly eager praise for the property stood out.

It felt less like an introduction to her new ally and more like…

A sales pitch?

Janna couldn't quite put her finger on it, but the whole situation seemed oddly peculiar.
