Chapter 25: Solution.
"It's been a whole week since I joined the team, and I've started to notice how quickly time flies. Honestly, I thought they were just pretending to give me hope of becoming stronger and preparing for hardships, but unfortunately, their attitude towards me worsened day by day. Kopii noticed that Kanao was increasingly showing his true colors, and Gedo was becoming more arrogant and haughty than when we first met. I decided it was time to learn more about their family to understand what kind of people I was dealing with.
The fact that they were both from the Soma Familia was quite remarkable. Initially, my searches for information about them yielded no results: all the information I found was either completely useless or, frankly, I already knew it. But Kopii, resolutely determined, didn't give up and continued to gather data about the mysterious Soma Familia. The most useful thing he learned during these long days was that the god Soma himself had long black hair with bangs covering most of his face, and black eyes full of mystery. He was of average height, with slender limbs and an almost fragile physique, which certainly didn't inspire confidence.
Kopii also decided to gather information from adventurers and learned that Soma, oddly enough, was obsessed with making wine and rarely appeared in public or communicated with anyone, preferring solitude. He also noticed that, for some reason, Soma ignored his familia, avoiding all contact. Everyone he asked had their own theory: some said he was simply tired of it and craved solitude, others suggested he had severed ties with the familia, and still others believed that no one could resist his wine, and therefore he broke off relations because they began fighting for the last sip of this wonderful wine, in their opinion. In the end, Kopii learned that Soma sells the worst wine he makes, but still at an exorbitant price, which seemed completely illogical.
All this information about the Soma Familia turned out to be, frankly, completely useless and insignificant for us. Several days passed as we descended into the dungeons, and the atmosphere only worsened. Kanao no longer pretended: he became terribly greedy and vile, and Gedo kept up with him with his arrogance. The last straw was that he started receiving 10 percent of all their earnings for everything they picked up from the island, including, of course, their magic stones.
The first day of joint efforts turned out to be a real emotional trial for them. They didn't descend below the eighth floor, and when I asked them what was wrong, it seemed useless and inappropriate. Then I realized that he was using a magic weapon that, as it turned out, gives strength but breaks down very quickly and becomes unusable. Kopii considered that using such a magic weapon was the most useless decision in the dungeon, as it slows down the growth and development of one's abilities. Without it, Kopii was sure he could defeat them. But, however, Kopii understood that he was stronger than Kanao, but not strong enough to defeat both of them.
Two weeks after Kopii joined Kanao, he finally realized why he really needed to be with them. He turned out to be just a free source of strength, which certainly didn't please him. But most importantly, he became a free supplier of healing potions for them, which Naaza always provided him with. They simply took advantage of this without thinking about the consequences.
Kopii learned that it wasn't Soma who commanded their familia, but some mysterious captain who forced his subordinates to bring money in exchange for a sip of Soma's wine. Apparently, the whole familia was mired in a whirlpool of madness, where everyone was ready to kill another for just one sip. Kopii resolutely decided that his next descent would be his last, and he would leave their team forever. He wanted to do it earlier, but while studying the monsters to subsequently deal with them alone, time slipped away.
Today was a day off, and Kopii didn't understand why they decided so, but he didn't care about their thoughts and whims. In fact, he didn't mind resting, because tomorrow would be the last descent with them, and he would leave their team. Lying on the bed, he didn't know what to do with himself - the sun had already risen, and the day promised to be beautiful.
Kopii decided not to delay and headed to Miyaha's room, but he wasn't there. "Where could he be?" he wondered. Kopii, slightly puzzled, decided to go downstairs and ask Naaza where Miyaha might be at this time.
"Good morning, Naaza. Do you know where Miyaha might be and when he will come?" he asked hopefully, hoping for a positive answer.
"No, Kopii, I don't know. He said he wanted to hang out with friends," Naaza smiled, lost in her thoughts.
Kopii hesitated, remained silent, and replied, "Okay, as you say."
"You're not going to the dungeon today, I presume?" she inquired, looking up.
"Yes, Naaza, today I decided to take a short break. Well, I won't distract you from your work. I'll go for a walk," Kopii said calmly.
"Okay." Naaza nodded, continuing to work on her things.
Leaving the blue pharmacy, Kopii didn't know where the best place to go for a walk was. But he quickly dismissed these thoughts - he had a whole day ahead of him. A whole day to have fun and enjoy life. But soon he got tired of just walking aimlessly. How boring! He used to enjoy strolling, spending time quietly, dreaming about the future. But now it exhausted him. Kopii stopped in the middle of the street, studying the life of the city, full of little things and events. He noticed how a little boy dropped an apple, and it rolled right under the feet of a woman rushing by. She stumbled and almost fell, but managed to stay on her feet in time. The boy, upset and scared, rushed to her with apologies, but the woman just waved him off and continued on her way. Suddenly, Kopii felt a pang of sympathy for the boy. He remembered his own difficult days when every defeat seemed like the end of the world.
Suddenly, he felt a light touch on his shoulder. Turning around, he saw Miyaha, smiling with his signature wide, sincere smile.
"Kopii! There you are! I was looking for you," Miyaha exclaimed, as if his thought had immediately materialized. "I thought maybe you also wanted to unwind. Let's go to the park, they're putting on a show today."
"What? What do you mean?" Kopii asked, not quite understanding what he was talking about. He didn't know that they were putting on a show in the park. It was probably organized by some familia, but the only one that came to his mind was the Ganesha Familia. With curiosity, he asked Miyaha:
"Which familia is putting on the show?"
"No, no, Kopii, it's a traveling theater," he replied enthusiastically. "They arrived today, and the performance will begin in the evening."
Kopii looked at the sky: the sun was high. Why rush?
"Don't we have a lot of time?" he said with slight apprehension.
"Yes, it seems so, Kopii, at first glance, but you don't want to watch their performance from afar, do you? We'll come early. Okay, come on, let's go! Naaza is already waiting for us, so let's go," he said and already pulled Kopii along.
"Okay, Miyaha," he agreed with him, feeling his mood gradually rising.
Kopii was a little surprised that Naaza also wanted to go to this performance. Usually, she was all about work and rarely distracted by anything else. But, on the other hand, why not? Everyone needs a break sometimes, and this could be a great way to relax and get away from the daily routine. On the way to the park, Miyaha, as always, kept talking about traveling theaters, about what impressive performances they usually give, how skillfully the actors wield their swords, and how beautiful the dancers are. Kopii listened to him half-heartedly, immersing himself in his thoughts and thinking about the upcoming descent into the dungeon with Kanao and Gedo. He imagined how he would tell them about his departure and how they would react to this news.
When they arrived at the park, there were already quite a few people, and the atmosphere was filled with anticipation. The traveling theater began to prepare for the performance, and everyone, including Kopii, began to radiate notes of excitement. Kopii looked around. Among the crowd were both adventurers and ordinary townspeople, all eagerly awaiting the start of the performance. Miyaha immediately dragged Kopii and Naaza closer to the stage.
"Let's wait to get the best seats," he said with unanimous enthusiasm, cheerfully pulling them along.
"Aren't we too early?" Naaza asked with slight irony. "Miyaha, you said they perform in the evening, so we still have a lot to wait."
"You understand perfectly, Kopii!" Miyaha said with a slight hint of playfulness.
He just smiled mysteriously in response and deftly slipped forward, dragging Kopii and Naaza along with him. To their surprise, they were able to get good seats, right in front of the stage, which brought them slight joy. Naaza, as usual, remained calm, but a slight curiosity flashed in her eyes, which usually did not appear before. Kopii just watched what was happening around him, carefully trying to make out the details in the decoration of the stage and the costumes of the actors, expecting something unusual.
Time dragged on slowly, as if losing count. The sun gradually declined towards the sunset, painting the sky in crimson and orange hues, creating a stunning landscape. There were more and more people in the park, and the noise of the crowd increased, creating a dynamic atmosphere. Miyaha, without stopping, told stories about different traveling theaters and their most famous, legendary performances. Kopii decided that he would just enjoy the performance."
