Damn, I Awakened With A Horror System!

Chapter 349: The Ancient Buildings (4).

"Indeed, worth to be called an independent world that forms from the death of a cultivator beyond the Nascent Soul realm."

Looking at the towering buildings that seemingly came out of the fantasy —standing tall amidst the pinkish fog, to the point that his senses couldn't see their peaks — Leo couldn't help but marvel silently, inspecting their intricate designs that were only below the black cauldron within the system as his attention soon shifted to a particular tower in the center of this place.

This one, although much lower than the buildings in its surroundings — with a height of only thirty meters — Leo could feel a sense of vicissitudes emitting from its surface, or to be exact, he could sense a kind of power far beyond a complete rule coursing throughout its surface, giving him a sensation of awe and dread.

Although he couldn't be sure since he still hadn't seen a being who used power beyond the complete rule, Leo's instinct, or to be exact, his soul, was telling him the terrifying oppression they contained.

An authority that makes even him helpless.

"If I were you, I wouldn't casually touch them."

As Leo's hand was about to touch the intricate surface of the tower, wanting to feel the authority they contained. Probably even comprehending them if possible, a sudden raspy voice, filled with depths and ancientness, echoed not far away from him.

"Hmm?"

Halting his movement, Leo, shrouded by his dark robe that was oozing with faint corruption, immediately shifted his gaze toward his side, only to timely see a shadowy figure twisting within the atmosphere meters away from him.

However, surprisingly, even after using his soul scan skill and his elevated divine senses, Leo couldn't sense the existence of the other party, even its information appeared blurry within his eyes.

"A clone skill? Probably above the epic rarity.'

Knowing how his soul scan skill works, even able to glean some fragmented information from a being with Legendary class, Leo couldn't help but assume, pondering for a while as he soon stared at the twisting shadow not far away from him.

"Why?" Confused about the words that the other party muttered, Leo retracted his hand that was about to touch the tower and asked.

"You hadn't heard about Law? How did you even reach the Late stage of the core formation realm in a short period of time?

"Well, considering your realm, there's a good chance that you never bothered gaining knowledge regarding cultivation facts... Tsk, tsk, if you don't change, you might make mistakes in the future.

"Oh wait, maybe you were poor, causing you to not have access to such knowledge.

"Sigh, I still remember when I started cultivating; I spent 6 hours studying, 6 hours practicing technique and skills, while the rest was spent on cultivating. Tsk, looking at the young children right now, they didn't even know how to balance their time, taking a single path to the extreme..."

The twisting shadow, upon hearing Leo's inquiries, instead of answering, began mumbling to itself for minutes nonstop — twisting within the atmosphere mysteriously, unknown if its existence was unstable or not, as its tone soon became sarcastic.

"With your ways of doing things, even though your strength could be considered above average, it would be hard for you to comprehend a Law."

"Wait, Law?" Hearing an unfamiliar term that made his soul shudder in pure excitement, Leo, although somewhat impatient, again asked. However, while doing so, his attention and divine senses were working to their maximum capacity, ensuring his safety if the twisting shadow in front of him suddenly showed malice.

"Oh, right, I almost forgot about that greenhorn. Hmm... where should I begin? How am I going to explain what Law is without expending too much time? Sigh, never mind, it was too tiring."

"What the..."

In an instant, upon hearing the words of the other party, Leo's composed disposition couldn't help but crumble.

His calmness suddenly vanished akin to a burst bubble, as a smoke filled with the mixture of undead, nature, and space energy began to ooze from his being — spreading forth akin to a broken dam as his anger became visible to the naked eye.

Although the interaction between the two seems short, in actuality, Leo was already standing at his location while listening to the other party's nonsense for 10 minutes.

"Do you think I'm playing here? Wasting my time to earn my precious horror points and unveil some treasures that could allow my strength to increase. Although I had no idea where your real body lies, believe it or not, I can still bring you agony!"

Feeling that he was being played, Leo's face couldn't help but darken, spreading his arms as he was about to use a curse skill in order to bring pain to the other party.

Although his action might seem reckless, since he hasn't sensed any palpitation within his soul, he already labeled the danger of the twisting shadow quite low — at least, it wasn't enough to endanger his life.

Moreover, even if it turned out that his conjecture was wrong, escaping from a mid-stage of the Nascent Soul being wouldn't be difficult.

Right?

"Tsk, tsk, how reckless, attacking anyone you find unpleasant. Not fun at all."

Looking at Leo in front of it, showing disdain even. The twisting shadow couldn't help but shake its head, sighing before again speaking.

"Never mind, it's quite rare to find a young man willing to listen to this old one for a couple of minutes without feeling anger."

With a thought, the twisting shadow immediately clicks its hard-to-discern fingers, causing the buildings around, including the tower, to shudder momentarily, followed by the indescribable aura they emitted before hastily drilling toward Leo's being, making his spiritual qi, which was coursing through his being and was about to activate a skill, halt in an instant, leaving him in a daze.

"This is bad."

Suddenly feeling his aura turn rigid, freezing before halting, to the point that even his divine senses didn't work anymore, Leo's expression couldn't help but turn worse.

"Ahmm, senior, are you going to believe me if I say that everything I had done was simply misunderstanding?"
