Chapter 18: Elysium
Leon’s mind jolted back into his elven body as the avatar dissipated from within [Monster-girls and Magic].
A state of utter confusion was left by the sudden disappearance of the endless pleasure of sexual intercourse with the haunting-owl.
Lifting his head from the table and looking around the room, Leon saw that Rosalina, Skitty, and Natus looked at him with a worried expression.
“Are you okay?” Skitty asked, swishing her fluffy tail in a manner that lifted her skirt. “You didn’t respond no matter how much we poked you.”
“I’m… fine.” Leon shook his head, still trying to clear the influence of the game on his mind.
“Judging by the time, you should have been captured by the Haunting Owl and played with by her…” Rosalina flapped her beautiful white wings and leaned over to touch his forehead with her palm, her small breasts directly displayed before his eyes without any embarrassment. “Do you need our assistance in releasing your pent-up desires?”
Rosalina’s behavior was extremely intimate and without any sense of awkwardness.
Her question almost seemed natural…
Leon glanced over the beautiful angel’s figure; her mesmerizing nipples exposed directly before his eyes.
“Ahem, no thanks.” Leon silently cast a cleaning spell on himself. He quietly looked away to prevent himself from losing control.
He knew that control was necessary at this time.
Although his own body remained in a state of heightened sexual desire and desired endless sex, Leon barely managed to suppress the desires with the help of his elven instincts.
If he was still in the cat-kin avatar, Leon had no confidence in maintaining control of himself. The connection between the body and mind had become readily apparent to Leon for the first time.
Leon felt terrified…
Inside the cat-kin avatar, Leon truly wanted to have sex with the haunting owl forever. Leon felt that his sexual desires were multiplied to an uncontrollable level in the cat-kin body.
The sexual instincts of beast-kin was multiple times that of elves.
Although Leon might momentarily regain consciousness, the combination of various aphrodisiacs and sexual activity could more easily influence his thought process in the cat-kin body.
In comparison, inside his elven body, Leon felt like he had a permanent calmness buff that helped him maintain control… although the [lust crest] occasionally broke through that calmness.
“Sorry, I forgot to keep a lookout for the Haunting Owl in the heat of the situation.” Skitty apologized and glared at the dragon-girl. “If you hadn’t run off to get eaten, we would’ve been in a much better situation.”
The dragon-girl simply shrugged in response to the accusation.
“It’s my own fault for not paying attention.” Leon would not blame the girls for his own failure and lack of combat experience.
The girls had warned him to remain vigilant about the ambush of the Haunting Owl, and he failed to act on that information.
Leon knew that the failure was entirely his own fault by rushing to help without ensuring his own safety.
If he had taken a look around, with the bug-level ability of the analysis system to outline all monster-girls, Leon would have easily noticed the Haunting Owl.
Instead of looking around, Leon was distracted by the vines assaulting Rosalina and prioritized saving her.
When, in fact, the first priority in any combat situation is to ensure your own safety.
Only after you are in a safe position should you think of helping others.
… Leon remembered stories in his previous life where wounded soldiers in open areas would have snipers keeping an eye on them as bait.
When a medic rushed over to help, the sniper would have an easy and valuable target. This tactic meant that handbook design for medics was forced to include various warnings about prioritizing their own safety.
Leon had no practical combat experience or related training.
Although he knows these truths, enacting them in any combat situation is extremely difficult without sufficient practice. Combat situations heavily rely upon instantaneous reactions and instincts; only repeated practice can drill the correct instincts into your bones.
“It’s good that you are doing okay...” Skitty breathed a sigh of relief and glanced at him, “You were not responding to external stimuli, if you exceeded the two-hour limit, we would be forced to call the school nurse.”
“I’m fine.” Leon shook his head and pulled away, standing upright to avoid the pampering of the angel. “I’m going to head home and study.”
“That’s good…” Rosalina took the hint, stepping aside to pack up the various material for playing monster-girls and magic.
Skitty stood on the right-side of the table, pondering something.
Natus lazily flipped through an illustrated book with monster-girls on the cover.
“Instead of going home to study, do you want to have dinner with me?” Skitty leaned toward him with her arms crossed; her fluffy cat-tail lifted her skirt as the fluffy appendage rose into the air.
Does that imply a date?
Leon blinked, looking at the beautiful cat-girl that invited him out.
Skitty’s hair was brown with irregular white spots, which gave her a certain sense of wildness akin to a stray cat.
The wildness hidden in her temperament caused the school uniform on her body to seem out of place. Like a stray cat that had been freshly cleaned and wrapped in a towel, the outfit simply seemed wrong in some manner.
Her tail swayed playfully behind her.
Skitty gave him a teasing wink, her youthful demeanor showcased by her mischievous spirit.
“Sure.” Leon shrugged and decided to agree. “I want to check something first, so give me a couple of minutes.”
Studying could be done at any time.
Playing with a cute cat-girl was a time-limited endeavor.
First, Leon needed to calm down from the previous experience.
Leon walked around a corner the analysis system and pulled out a random book, before checking on the background processes.
[System usage (current): 85%]
[Background Goal: 33-42%]
[Predictive algorithm: 18-27%]
[Danger detection: 7-12%]
[Environmental detection: 5%]
[Learning algorithm: 1%]
[Illusionary spells: 1%]
[Operating system: 20% (locked)]
The usage of processing power was constantly fluctuating between different numbers as the analysis system prioritized different tasks.
There didn’t appear to be much problem with retaining the illusionary outline of various people, but this did take up approximately 20-30% of the processing power.
At normal times, Leon would need to disable it.
[Background Goal: Comprehensive analysis and removal of Lust Crest]
[Current progress: 50%]
[Estimated time: 7 months]
Pulling up the estimated time for the background goal to be complete, Leon sighed.
As expected, the analysis of [Lust Crest] was approximately 20% slower.
“Seven months is way too long.” Leon leaned against the bookshelf and fell into thought, tapping his fingers against the book in his hand.
His sanity could not be maintained if he left the [lust crest] for that long.
Even now, Leon was beginning to enjoy the pleasure that the [lust crest] could bring him during sexual intercourse.
If another seven months passed, Leon doubted whether he would truly want to remove the [lust crest].
Judging by the current situation, the analysis system was still having trouble figuring out the magic system behind the spell.
“There must be a better way.” Leon frowned and looked at the system.
Hold on… the main goal is to remove the [lust crest], right?
Comprehensive analysis of the lust crest and the magic system behind it can be done when more data is acquired.
‘Save the currently analyzed knowledge, index the magical fluctuations and patterns of the [lust crest]. Index other information that might be necessary for reproducing the magic. Cancel all outstanding background goals.’
‘Focus on finding a safe method to remove the [lust crest].’
Leon mentally ordered the analysis system and proceeded to look at the changes.
[Background Goal: Removal of Lust Crest]
[Current progress: 68%]
[Estimated time: 2 weeks]
“Good, I can wait two weeks.” Leon breathed a sigh of relief and felt that he had improved his understanding of the analysis system.
Goals needed to be extremely specific.
Similar to a computer, the analysis system is extremely rigid and will do exactly what he told it to do… even if wasn’t what he intended.
Analysis of the magical system of the world of monster-girls and magic can be left until later.
Leon sighed and smiled awkwardly, knowing that he had been too greedy.
He was barely getting started on the magic in this world, getting involved in another system of magic would only slow down his progress.
Everything had been going too smoothly.
Between the grimoire and analysis system, Leon had felt that nothing was impossible for him… Although his life was going smoothly, Leon felt no peace of mind and remained in a constant state of insecurity.
He knew his current safety was based on the premise of his young age and the protection of elves. There were countless individuals of higher tiers that could kill him easily…
Whether it was powerful gods or individual of higher tier, each could kill him easily if they decided.
Instinctively, Leon wanted to collect more trump cards.
The grimoire provided a certain degree of relief, allowing him to quickly improve his combat effectiveness as a tier 1 magician… but it wasn’t enough to be safe in this perilous world, nowhere near enough.
The difference between tier 1 [magicians] and tier 2 [mages] was greater than the difference between ants and elephants.
So much so that Leon felt extremely unsafe.
Mages at tier 2 have basically mastered a specific type of magic to a degree that they can instantly cast those spells at will.
At the second tier, mages do not need to be concerned about mana or spell models. Essentially, they have comprehended a certain law of the world.
They could rely on their comprehension of the law to prolong their lifespan and defend against foreign attacks.
The standardized magic system is basically useless for them.
Attacks that do not include fragments of law cannot even break their defenses.
As far as Leon was aware, tier 2 mages typically only learned modern runes to improve the versatility of their spells.
Therefore, except for some magic that can make their lives more comfortable like the [cleaning] spell, most mages don’t bother to learn modern spell-casting theories.
Runes and spell models mainly exist to improve the combat effectiveness and learning of magicians.
If before the creation of the standardized magic system, defeating an individual at tier 2 was theoretically impossible with an unlimited number of tier 1 magicians. The modern magic system made it possible for tier 1 magicians to work together and defeat a weaker tier 2 individual.
Although Leon hasn’t heard of any cases of a tier 2 mage being defeated by tier 1 magicians without external assistance.
Therefore, the best option for ordinary people like himself was to simply escape if you encounter an enemy at a higher tier than you.
Even if you are ridiculously unlucky and have made enemies with someone that can control the laws of space and time, teleporting away if you cannot fight remains the best option… At least, your death will be painless.
The difference between tiers was akin to the difference between a baby and an adult. It was a qualitative difference in life-level that could never be bridged by ordinary people.
How could a newborn baby cause harm to any healthy adult?
Although Leon could learn the magic system from another world, how much would it actually improve him at his current level?
It’s a gamble whether it will be more useful than learning a regular healing spell.
The magic system of the world of monster-girls might be helpful for the reference of powerful mages and those with sufficient understanding of magic, but Leon was only a tier 1 novice that was barely getting started in magic.
Being greedy for another magic system at the moment was only harmful.
When he had an in-depth knowledge of the essence of magic, another magic system might be a useful comparison tool to break through a bottleneck in understanding.
Ghost knows whether the connection between this world and [monster-girls and magic] will be retained by the time Leon reaches that level.
So, Leon planned to collect and store the magic system in [monster-girls and magic] for future usage.
After sorting through his thoughts, Leon tapped the book in his hand and felt relatively satisfied.
Leon was aware that part of the curriculum of college courses involved focusing on specific types of spells to prepare for comprehending natural laws and advancing to tier 2.
The choice of focus was extremely important as the law that was mastered had a large impact on a mage’s future possibilities.
The strongest laws are naturally those involving time and space… but those might take millennium for Leon to understand, and it might be impossible to comprehend them.
“It’s too dangerous to remain at tier 1 for that long…” Leon knew that the most powerful laws were basically exclusive to extreme geniuses. Although Leon can be considered a genius, the elven race had inherently poor comprehension.
However, even among other races, remaining at tier 1 to comprehend powerful laws was typically a stupid idea.
The lifespan of other races was not that long.
Furthermore, people could simply study those laws when they reached a higher tier with a longer lifespan.
It was a waste of their lifespan to study complicated laws until tier 3.
Until you begin to integrate the law into your body at tier 4, people can always study more powerful laws without affecting their future growth… but if a genius dies insisting on studying powerful laws at a low level, then they are simply an idiot.
A genius that does not grow up is not a genius.
Assassination of foreign geniuses is an extremely common strategy.
Therefore, the most appropriate strategy is to study a simple law to reach tier 2 and then specialize in a law that suits him.
Unfortunately, information about reaching tier 2 is basically exclusive to college.
Although Leon could ask for related information from the elves, most elves have relied on instinct and talent to reach their height. Other races are more reliable in finding a direction to work hard toward.
Leon shook his head and decided to stop thinking about the subject.
At this stage, thinking about advancing to tier 2 is imagining a castle in the sky.
It’s better to learn a few spells that can improve his chances of survival. Once Leon is accepted into a college, the information will naturally be available to him.
“Beyond learning the [mental mind] spell as soon as possible… the next goal should be learning stealth-type spells.” Leon absentmindedly pondered.
Remembering the spell that the girls mentioned Natus cast to avoid being noticed whilst playing monster-girls and magic in the library, Leon decided to ask her about it next time.
The perception filter might be able to alleviate his problem with the succubus’ blessing if it can be studied and analyzed. However, this spell was not included in the library, and he couldn’t find it anywhere online.
Leon put away the book with a sense of absentmindedness, wrote a timed-message on his phone about his current plans in case of an accident and wandered back.
Rosalina and Natus had disappeared from the library, along with the various material about monster-girls and magic.
Skitty leaned with her shoulder against a bookshelf, waiting for his return and stood upright upon noticing him. “Are you ready?”
The cat-girl had an enchanting smile as she walked over, her school uniform fluttered through her gentle movements.
“Yes.” Leon nodded.
“Let’s go, then~” Skitty squished into him, her fluffy tail wrapping around his upper thigh. “Rosalina recommended a place nearby to eat~”
Leon felt helpless about her intimate behavior.
The cat-girl’s soft breasts warmly squished into his body and her brown tail wrapped around his upper thigh.
The various feminine sensations certainly felt good.
-But it was also extremely embarrassing and awkward… especially considering the [lust crest] ensured that he was aroused by the sensation.
Leon hesitated about whether to protest against her cuddling behavior. Amidst his hesitation, Skitty had already led him out of the library and into the hallway with other people wandering about.
Not wanting to make a fuss in public, Leon sighed and silently accepted the benefits from the cat-girl.
Skitty led him into a small restaurant with a signboard with the name “Elysium” about fifteen minutes from the school.
The restaurant had a unique theme.
The walls and floor of the restaurant had a decorative illusion of unnatural green fields with a long flowing river.
Countless dead souls were crying out from inside the river.
Various ghostly figures decorated the surroundings in an artistic fashion and a decent number of people could be seen in the restaurant enjoying food.
The restaurant had a beautiful female waitress of the feather tribe with grey-white wings protruding from her upper-back. The clothing was a slightly Roman-style tunic.
“Would you like a seat?” The waitress asked, looking at the two of them from behind a reception counter.
“Private table for two~” Skitty asked and nuzzled into him.
“We happened to have a private room available in the back.” The waitress flapped her grey wings and looked at Leon with a slight smile, before beginning to lead the way. “Do you need an introduction to the restaurant?”
“Yes, please.” Leon nodded as his eyes scanned the surroundings, a hint of vigilance flashing in his eyes.
Why would a restaurant themed on the realm of the dead of Greek mythology in his previous life appear in this world?
Leon had performed an extensive search and confirmed that the gods of this world definitely did not include those from the mythologies of his previous life.
Therefore, it was extremely strange to find a restaurant based on Greek Mythology in this world.
“Welcome to Elysium, the realm of dead heroes~” The waitress gestured around the restaurant with a playful spin. “Where you can eat delicacies to your heart’s desire and enjoy the treatment of heroes~”
“Between the wandering dead and the River Lethe, the realm of the dead can be quite dangerous.” The waitress gestured around the illusions of the restaurant. “Remember to stay on the stone road, or risk getting lost forever in the land of the dead~”
“…Stone road?” Leon’s eyes narrowed and his quick analysis confirmed that there was no obvious divine nature emitting from the restaurant.
Furthermore, there did not appear to be any danger.
The only magical phenomenon that could be considered abnormal was the countless illusionary enchantments that filled the surroundings.
This restaurant should have nothing to do with real gods, most gods are happy to show off their powers and attract believers.
Hiding your fame and merit is not the style of gods.
Since the gods are not involved, how did this world have an interaction with the Greek mythos in his previous life?
“I forgot that you’re completely disconnected with normal society.” Skitty rubbed her forehead in annoyance and her ears twitched. “Stone represents reality in the restaurant, you’ll reach a solid wall if you step on the grass after a few feet.”
“…” Leon shook his head and asked. “I’m quite curious, where did the idea for this restaurant came from?”
“It’s originated from an extremely popular illusionary novel series.” Skitty responded with her fluffy tail swaying behind her.
“Illusionary novel?” Leon heard the term for the first time and looked at Skitty.
“No, do you actually live in a vacuum?” Skitty poked him in the chest repeatedly and her expression was extremely strange. “What do you usually do for entertainment?”
“Not much.” Leon replied, falling into thought.
He couldn’t think of any entertainment activities besides going to school, studying, and enchanting various items.
Although Leon was addicted to the internet in his previous life, after being reborn he purposefully didn’t interact with the internet any more than absolutely necessary. This was a kind of avoidance to prevent re-addiction.
“Ahem, what exactly is an illusionary novel?” Leon hesitantly asked.
“Forget it, it would be easier to show you later than explain it.” Skitty pinched the tip of her nose and gently shook her head.
The waitress was smirking at their conversation and led the way across the stone pathway to a small bridge over the Lethe river.
As the waitress crossed the bridge, she vanished into mist. Only the green outline from the analysis system indicated her presence was still there.
As Leon and Skitty crossed the stone bridge, the waitress reappear in their sight.
“Some heavenly spirits will be over to take your order shortly~” The waitress gestured to a small stone table on this side of the river and placed a menu on the table.
Then, she vanished back into mist after walking over the bridge.
“Come on~” Skitty pulled him toward the table and forced him to sit beside her.
Although the appearance of this seat was stone, the seat was comfortable with some kind of elastic material.
“Isn’t this place cool?” Skitty adjusted the school skirt on her body to avoid discomfort, before clinging to his left arm. “There aren’t a lot of beautiful thematic restaurants like this.”
“It’s certainly well-decorated.” Leon didn’t refute and agreed on that behalf.
If his analysis result hadn’t resolutely determined the surroundings were simple illusions and completely harmless, Leon would’ve been extremely uncomfortable due to the atmosphere.
The atmosphere of this place was akin to a perfect paradise.
Besides the occasional low cries of the souls of the dead, everything was unnaturally beautiful.
Yet, the environmental beauty has reached the point that people will feel uncomfortable due to the deathly chill that seems to surround the place.
Leon rested his arms on the stone table, revealing it to be wooden in nature and felt speechless.
“Aren’t you worried about the quality of the food in a place that has illusions everywhere?” Leon complained absentmindedly. “What if they used illusions on the food?”
“Do you think this type of restaurant would need to risk public outrage by selling low-quality products?” Skitty rolled her eyes, her fluffy brown tail swirled around to brush along his face. “Are you always so paranoid?”
“This is caution, not paranoia.” Leon leaned back and playfully swatted her tail away from his face.
“Are you sure that can be called caution?” Skitty continued to use her soft tail to tickle his face and seemed to be enjoying his reaction.
“Yes, caution.” Leon was distracted by her tail and retorted. “Only when sufficiently prepared can you adequately protect yourself.”
Skitty mischievously poked his face with her tail. “Then protect yourself from my tail~”
The two of them fell into a game where she would control her tail to poke and slide along his face, like a cat toying with her prey to see their reaction.
In this game, Leon played along and swat away her tail. He didn’t have much objection to her teasing behavior.
Skitty’s soft breasts squished into his arm, limiting the range of action of his left arm. Leon was limited to using his right hand to playfully swat away her tail.
The cat-girl would occasionally get past his defenses and her fluffy tail would gently brush along his neck and face.
This kind of childish playing was not something he had done in a long time.
It was oddly relaxing.
After a while, Leon got tired of playing and stopped fighting back.
Skitty remained unsatisfied and her playful nature caused her to continue baiting a reaction out of him.
Like a wild cat trying to get attention, Skitty began to rub her tail along his face.
The fluffy fur of her tail tickling his nose and cheeks.
Leon naturally knew that she wanted a reaction out of him and tried his best to avoid giving her that reaction.
Telling her to stop would be an admission of defeat.
Therefore, a new unspoken game appeared.
Leon’s goal was to pretend to be unaffected by the tail that teased his face.
Meanwhile, the cat-girl was attempting to bait a sufficient reaction out of him using only her tail.
Skitty’s tail brushed along his face, neck, and shoulders.
A lively smile appeared on Skitty’s face, she was carefully watching his reaction and she skillfully controlled her tail to tease him.
The furry tail swept along his lips, leaving a strange fluffiness sensation as an aftermath. The fluffy appendage of the cat-girl flicked against his face, and flowed down his neck onto his chest.
Slowly her movement became more daring, her tail began to sweep across more erogenous places like his inner thighs and buttock.
Whether it was the [lust crest] playing a stronger role or his own natural reaction, Leon’s felt a strong heat of arousal flooding through his body.
Leon closed his eyes in response and leaned forward, trying to calm his arousal and disconnect himself from the situation.
“What’s wrong?” Skitty seemed to take notice of his strange behavior.
The cat-girl felt strange, they were happily flirting with each other a moment ago.
Although closing his eyes was a reaction that indicated she won their little game, Skitty was completely dissatisfied as it signified that he wanted to temporarily ignore her existence.
Therefore, the cat-girl decided to push him a little further.
Skitty let her charming feminine body lean into him and her sweet fragrance enter his brain. Her fingers gently played with his soft wrists.
The cat-girl directly took a good look at the handsome elf and a soft blush appeared on her face.
“Are you okay?” Skitty asked, her soft hands moving to his thighs and gently stroked along his inner thigh in a teasing fashion. “You seem stressed~”
“You know that you don’t need to suppress yourself so much around me, right?” Skitty asked with a sense of worry and let her tail wrap around his mouth to gag him. “If you want, you can touch or play with my body. I already gave you permission to freely play with me earlier… remember?”
Leon opened his eyes, gently pulled away the tail that covered his mouth and let out a gentle sigh. “Not right now.”
“Oh…” Skitty sighed in disappointment, released his arm and leaned against on the table in a brooding fashion.
Seeing the depression on Skitty’s face, Leon gently patted her head and played with her fluffy cat-ears.
“I’m not completely refusing and I’m happy to play with you… but I’d prefer to get to know you better and would like to clarify our expectations before entering a relationship.”
“At minimum, we can spend some time together to learn each other’s likes and dislikes.”
“I will warn you; I am a very private person and tend to instinctively hide information about myself. It’s likely that I cannot bring you proper spiritual comfort even if we end up in a relationship.”
“Of course, I will not refuse if you insist on having a purely physical relationship without spiritual support… but at least not in a public place like this, okay?”
Leon frankly explained the situation without any intention to cover up and was as sincere as possible.
Although Leon was a young elf, he was over 350 years old…
If he formed a relationship with the cat-girl without a proper explanation, Leon would silently feel like he was deceiving a little girl.
Skitty was only in her twenties.
However, Leon would not refuse her for this.
The lifespan of the cat beast-kin was approximately 60-80 years. Based on his understanding, they are only able to mate and have children before they are 40 years old.
From the perspective of beast-kin, Skitty was already at the age where she should have children.
Although his behavior was not romantic, Leon recognized the cat-girl to a degree and did not dislike spending time with her. He was not against forming a relationship with her.
The cat-girl was a bit lustful and playful, but you have to know that she has always kept an appropriate distance and never forced anything.
Although the cat-girl teased him, when Leon refused, Skitty would not insist on going further.
Skitty was extremely respectful of his thoughts.
Therefore, it can be stated that Leon had an extremely favorable opinion of this little kitten.
Although the little kitten was a bit lustful, you have to know that the vast majority of females seem to not care about his thoughts in the slightest and simply wanted to have sex with him.
For example, the female beast-kin in his class basically took every opportunity to seduce him regardless of his thoughts.
When Leon refused their advances, the female beast-kin in his class would only get more unruly. Showcasing their exposed breasts, rubbing against his body, and attempting to play with his erection.
Those beast-girls seemed to be wracking their brains to get his consent and treating his refusal as an obstacle to overcome.
Although Leon knew the [Twin Succubus’ Blessing] was influencing their thoughts and would not blame the beast-girls for their behavior…
-But there was no way he would have a favorable impression.
In comparison, Skitty was relatively tame and would not go further if he refused.
Of course, Leon’s current level of favorability cannot be called love.
His current feelings were closer to sexual interest and mental acceptance of Skitty, but this was enough for Leon to be straightforward and sincere with the cat-girl.
If Leon didn’t like the cat-girl to a certain extent, he would not bother to explain himself or accept her date.
Leon felt that as long as he was mentally prepared, Skitty’s eventual death would not have that large of an impact on his mental state.
To begin with, Leon didn’t want to get deeply involved with other species due to their short lifespan.
-but he wouldn’t outright refuse.
Skitty’s eyes were closed, and she enjoyed the sensation of her fluffy ears being brushed and eventually responded with a nod of her head. “… Alright.”
Leon saw that Skitty’s depression had been mostly alleviated and breathed a sigh of relief.
Several minutes later, two feather-clan beast-girls with wings emerging from their upper back appeared from the stone bridge.
The two feather-clan beast-kin were young and attractive, appearing to be in their twenties.
Their appearance instantly made Leon feel embarrassed.
The beast-girls wore togas, but the togas were wrapped around their bodies in a fashion that left their entire upper body above their belly button exposed.
Beautiful black wings were folded neatly behind their backs.
The two beast-girl waitresses walked across the bridge with a cold professional temperament that radiated indifference like a ghost from the realm of the dead that excluded the living,
The eyes of the two girls instantly lit up upon seeing Leon, their backs straightened. They looked at each other with a sense of mutual understanding in their eyes.
“Hello~”
“Welcome to Elysium~”
“I’m Shadow~”
“I’m Lunara~”
“Have you decided on what to order?”
The two feather-clan beast-girl waitresses instantly became enthusiastic and friendly, the previous indifferent professional temperament melted away like ice exposed to a high temperature flame.
Their wings spread behind them.
The two beast-kin approached the table and their upper bodies leaned over the table toward him, showcasing their bare breasts at close range.
The perky nipples and red areola of the girls seemed to draw in his gaze unconsciously.
Overwhelmed with the sudden benefits, Leon found himself unable to avert his gaze.
“Sorry, I haven’t looked at the menu yet.” Leon awkwardly coughed and tried to send away the two half-naked beast-girls. “Please give me a few more minutes.”
“Don’t worry~ We’ll definitely help you find something that you like!”
“Mmhmm~ Leave it to us!!”
The two beast-girls patted their exposed chests with confidence sending waves through their medium-sized boobs.
“We have plenty of options at Elysium~” The beast-girls named Shadow folded her large black wings and enthusiastically sat next to him, handing the menu to him. “For example, we have a heavenly bread with a sweet cream as an appetizer that is quite good.”
The enthusiastic Shadow pointed to various items on the menu and provided various recommendations.
Meanwhile, her left hand was extremely dishonest and stroked along his inner thigh as she explained different options to eat.
“I’d recommend our cold lion-squid steak, it has a delicious taste and a unique texture.”
Lunara went behind him, leaned over him to gesture toward the menu. She was squeezing her bare breasts into his upper back in the process and the feathers of her wings rested atop his shoulder.
Leon felt the softness of her mounds on her backside and felt awkwardly trapped between the two feather-clan beast-kin.
“Or you could have a burger of fire bison meat?” Shadow continued to recommend different dishes and playfully let her body lean into him.
The soft warmth of Lunara’s boobs squeezed into his neck and her soft nipples could be felt rubbing against the back of his neck.
Despite his best intentions, the restless hardness in his pants was painfully obvious and the two waitresses had obviously noticed it.
Shadow squeezed his inner thigh and stroked along the side of his erection to feel the length of it.
Leon gulped in desire and his hands clenched.
“What do you think?” A soft feminine voice whispered into his left ear in an erotic manner and Lunara’s breath warmed his ear.
Skitty’s fingers were twirling in a circle.
The cat-girl ignored the two feather-clan beast-girls’ existence, seemingly acquiescing to their behavior.
Leon awkwardly glanced toward Skitty for assistance, the cat-girl averted her gaze with a slightly guilty expression and her ears folded on top of her head.
“Ahem! Could you give me some personal space?” Leon awkwardly adjusted himself.
The feather-clan beast-girls quickly reassured him.
“It’s the duty of heavenly spirits in Elysium to serve young heroes~” Lunara comforted as her bare breasts further stimulated him and squeezed against his neck.
“Don’t worry, we won’t bother you~” Shadow added afterward and the palm of her hand stroked up the right-side of his erection.
Speechless at their argument about the situation at hand, Leon silently cast [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] to escape.
His body merged into the parallel dimension with the assistance of the spell in the grimoire and analysis system’s calculations.
The various pleasurable sensations disappear from his body.
Leon breathed a sigh of relief. “Whew…”
Although he remained in a state of high lust, the [lust crest] was no longer making trouble and he could at least control himself to a greater degree.
“Young hero?” Shadow frowned and sat upright with her head tilted, her beautiful nipples seemed to be demanding attention with subtle bounces. “Is something wrong?”
“I told you to give me personal space.” Leon’s voice was cold as he pulled up his pants, but unconsciously his eyes were attracted to her perfect red nipples on display before him.
“Are you embarrassed because your girlfriend is here?” Shadow’s black wings spread out slightly and looked at the cat-girl with a slightly cold expression that made him feel odd.
“Don’t joke around.” Skitty rolled her eyes and leaned forward against the table in annoyance, letting her fluffy tail sway behind her. The cat-girl completely ignored the two feather-clan beast-kin, her head rested against the table.
‘Does this have anything to do with you?’ Leon internally wanted to complain… but to his surprise, his instincts detected a hint of danger from the feather-clan.
Shadow’s eyes were locked on the cat-girl, like burning her appearance into her memory.
“This is a public location that serves food, I should hope that such inappropriate behavior is completely prohibited here.” Leon instinctively changed his words and looked at her with a strange expression.
“Ahem! Of course.” Shadow coughed in embarrassment and averted her gaze. “We were not actually planning on doing anything.”
“I should hope so.” Leon uncomfortably adjusted himself on the seat that suddenly felt dirty.
He glanced at the two beast-girls, and silently cast an [cleaning] spell on the surroundings to clean up absolutely everything that could be considered unclean or unhygienic.
“Regardless, what do you want to eat?” Shadow reached out and grasped his arm.
“Huh?” Leon was caught off-guard by the sudden softness against his upper arm and looked at Shadow in confusion.
The feather-clan beast-girl casually clung to his arm as if nothing was wrong, her bare breasts squishing against his upper arm.
Leon hadn’t canceled the spell [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] and he should be intangible.
‘Sure enough, is there another problem with the automatic calculation algorithm of [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage]?’ Leon quickly recovered himself and was not surprised.
[Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] was an extremely complicated and powerful spell. He had run into various problems whilst learning it. It can be considered a working prototype at the moment.
‘Analyze the source of the calculation error.’ Leon ordered the analysis system. He would solve it later.
There was a strong possibility that illusion magic in the surroundings had some unknown influence on the spell’s calculations.
Leon sighed at the extra work that would be required to fix the spell.
Absentmindedly, he grasped Skitty’s tail that swayed back and forth near his face.
Yet, the cat-girl’s fluffy tail was clearly in another dimension and his hand passed straight through it.
The incorporeal nature of the spell was still effective.
[No errors have been detected with the spell (Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage).]
In other words, the spell was working properly.
“…” Leon’s eyes twitched, his eyes silently returned to the feather-clan beast-girl.
The feather-clan beast-girl was enthusiastically hugging his arm. Her soft white breasts rubbed against his arm and her attractive body leaned into him. She looked at him and blinked with innocent eyes.
Idiotic system! If it’s working properly, what’s going on with this waitress Shadow that is hugging him?
Do you want him to believe that she is a powerhouse at tier 3 and can easily ignore dimensional barriers to hug him?
Anyway, Leon didn’t believe it.
As for cracking the spell at tier 1?
The difficulty of casting and cracking [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] was impossibly high.
The theory behind the spell is the creation of an independent illusionary dimension that the castor can enter to temporarily hide.
This illusionary dimension is heavily reliant upon the spell-castor and the rules for interfacing with reality can be defined to a certain extent.
Regardless, even with the same rules, each user of the spell will create their own unique illusionary dimension.
[Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] is typically considered the most useful escape-type spell that even high-tier mages learn.
The spell provides a few seconds of absolute safety from physical attacks.
Keyword here is absolute.
To actually interact with someone inside of [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] requires finding and interlacing with the user’s self-created illusionary dimension.
Then the individual has to have the ability to enter that specific dimension.
Frankly, it’s basically impossible to interact with the mage inside the illusionary dimension.
Enemies will typically abandon physical attack.
They’ll either begin to use mental-type abilities to target the mage or pierce multiple dimensions with a single decisive attack to harm them.
[Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] is typically considered the most useful-escape type spell as it can unconditionally allow mages to escape from physical attacks.
However, the spell will automatically collapse after a couple of seconds.
Any illusionary dimension cannot retain any real material for more than a few seconds, otherwise it will collapse back into reality.
Therefore, [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] is typically only effective for a couple of seconds.
Leon relies upon the analysis system and grimoire to semi-permanently cast the spell.
This is only possible because the collapse of the illusionary dimension tends to happen in an exponential manner.
Although this exponential collapse makes it impossible for ordinary mages to maintain the spell, Leon only needed to constantly calculate what parts were about to collapse and reinforce them with more illusionary magic.
The analysis system is constantly calculating what part of the illusionary dimension will soon collapse and the grimoire will reinforce the illusion to prevent the collapse.
This allows the intangible effect of [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] to be stabilized and maintained in a semi-permanent state with a bit of effort.
In addition, there will be occasional errors in the algorithm and sometimes the spell will directly collapse.
-But even so this kind of improved version of the spell cannot be done by normal people.
The amount of calculation required to analyze the rapid collapse of the illusionary dimension and input mana to reinforce the precise location before an exponential amount of illusionary matter collapses completely impossible for normal people.
The spell can be theoretically cracked, but practically? It’s impossible to crack.
The difficulty is greater than deciphering an infinitely rolling encryption.
To maintain the illusionary nature and prevent collapse, Leon was basically constantly adjusting the position of the illusionary realm in spatial dimensions in random ways.
To be honest, Leon had a headache even thinking about trying to decipher the spell.
The only exception that Leon can imagine is extremely powerful individuals that have reached tier 3 with some special laws, or those individuals that have begun to transform themselves into figurative concepts at tier 4.
Cracking his own version of [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] and maintaining physical contact with him is infinitely more difficult than casting the spell.
Leon felt there were only two logical explanations.
First, there was an unknown problem with the spell that even analysis cannot detect.
Second, Shadow was an unimaginably powerful individual that could crack [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] at will.
Regardless of the truth, asking Shadow for an explanation would be pointless.
Leon silently glanced at the feather-clan beast-girl.
The toga that Shadow wore wrapped around her lower-waist and did little to cover her beautiful body.
Her bare breasts were fully displayed and her soft nipples occasionally brushed against his upper arm with an enthusiastic expression.
Shadow’s black wings had spread out slightly, and her arms were gently wrapped around him.
Leon’s eyes twitched again.
To be honest, Leon refused to believe this feather-clan was a supreme powerhouse at tier 3 that could kill him with a single thought.
What supreme powerhouse would work as a waitress in a restaurant and display her upper-body with an enthusiastic attitude? Furthermore, a powerhouse at that level couldn’t be influenced by something like [Twin Succubus’ Blessing].
Although Leon ruled out the option that Shadow was a powerful individual, he did not dare to analyze her.
Don’t joke around.
The anti-divination spells on the analysis system are not invincible. At most, they disconnect the system from the network and prevent others from noticing the analysis system’s existence in a normal state.
Performing analysis requires using divination.
Powerful people will always have some knowledge about divination and can easily find the precise source.
Leon is a perfect example.
With the analysis system, Leon would instantly notice if someone dared to divine information about himself and inversely could learn almost everything about them in an instant through the analysis system.
At least, if they were not significantly stronger than himself.
Furthermore, Leon could cast some mental spells following the connection that could cause major problems for anyone that dared to divine information about himself.
Divination is akin to hacking.
Anti-Divination is a firewall.
Maybe divination can get the information you want, but it’s easy to overturn.
Leon had no such habit of analyzing people for information.
The [analysis system] slightly modified his soul and used it for processing power.
Therefore, any connection with the analysis system is essentially a connection with Leon.
Although the analysis system could be considered powerful in terms of divination, Leon is only a tier 1 magician and is completely unable to defend himself.
It was easy to overturn if he made random divinations about people and offended a tier 2 individual.
Since divining people was extremely easy to offend people and the benefits were ridiculously low, Leon had no such intention.
Simply put, the cost-effectiveness of analyzing people was too low to be worth the risk… Unless someone was already his enemy, Leon would not dare to use such a risky method of obtaining information.
When Leon analyzed someone, under normal circumstances, the analysis system was only analyzing the data that has been seen with his own senses or included in the system’s database.
In the extremely low-probability event that Shadow was truly a powerhouse, it would be extremely offensive to divine any information about her and could cost his life.
Instead of worrying about whether Shadow was actually a powerhouse, it was better to figure out a way to improve [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage].
However, Leon soon fell into a state of self-doubt.
He really couldn’t think of the specific problem that occurred with [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage].
It was an extraordinarily complicated spell and diagnosing the issue is difficult without the assistance of the [analysis system].
The spell itself must be fine.
It is commonly used by high-level mages.
If the spell had any problems, the book would’ve mentioned it.
Therefore, the specific problem should have occurred in stabilizing the illusionary realm for long-term usage.
Leon sighed.
[Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] was a complicated spell that involved creating an illusionary dimension.
The concept of the spell was complicated by itself and altering [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] for long-term usage was bound to have problems.
For the time being, the spell is fine.
Although the analysis system and grimoire could allow him to quickly learn and cast spells with a relatively surficial understanding of the spell, such short-cuts could not fundamentally improve his understanding by a large margin.
Without assistance from the analysis system, diagnosing the error that occurred in this specific circumstance of his own improvements to the spell was extraordinarily difficult.
“…” Leon decided to worry about it later, mainly because his instincts told him the true problem was with the feather-clan beast-girl named Shadow.
Furthermore, the beast-kin named Shadow always gave him the strange illusion of familiarity.
After a couple of seconds of various thoughts flashing through his mind, Leon finally recognized the source of the familiar feeling.
Shadow’s subtle temperament was similar to Rosalina, only bolder and more unrestrained.
A more careful observation only affirmed his thoughts.
Almost instinctively, Leon confirmed there was some connection between Shadow and Rosalina.
There was not enough information to infer the specific connection.
The ability of Shadow to touch him was a warning to avoid being too reliant on [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] in combat, though.
No ability was invincible.
“Have you decided on what to eat?” Shadow asked as she hugged his right arm.
“Heavenly bread and a serving of evil-fire fruit.” Leon directly chose from the menu based on standard elven preferences.
Although Leon was not a standard elf and didn’t care about being a vegetarian, there were certain societal expectations that should be maintained in public settings.
“Understood~” Shadow’s body adjusted slightly and wrote down the order before looking toward Skitty. “-and the young mistress?”
“I’ll have a fire-bison burger.” Skitty’s glanced over at the feather-clan with an ambiguous look and asked. “…Don’t you have other customers to attend to?”
The cat-girl’s fluffy tail flicked in annoyance and provided a glimpse of her black panties.
“We are fully staffed and have no issues.” Shadow moved her feminine palm along Leon’s stomach and up to his chest.
Feeling the spell [Crosso’s Mysterious Mirage] begin to eat into his mana, Leon decided to cancel the spell due to the relative ineffectiveness and his body became tangible again.
“Don’t worry, Shadow and I can personally serve you throughout your meal~” Lunara wrapped her arms around his neck and her medium-sized breasts comfortably squeezed into his back. “We’ll ensure that our young hero is completely satisfied with our establishment~”
The fragrant milky scents of their feminine bodies flooded his nostrils and every breath filled his lungs with their scent.
“I’d be more satisfied if you left me alone.” Leon sighed, rubbing his temples and glanced toward Skitty with helplessness in his eyes.
He could feel his body’s subconscious reaction to their feminine bodies.
Skitty’s tail brushed against his arm and silently shrugged.
Shadow and Lunara had no intention of listening and remained attached to him.
Fortunately, after his stern warning, the two feather-clan beast-girls maintained a certain level of professionalism and did not continue to rub his erogenous zones…
Despite strong arousal due to their soft and tender bodies caressing against him, Leon managed to maintain control over himself.
After a period of time, the food arrived.
Analysis was utilized on the plate of heavenly bread with a bright red evil-fire fruit.
Confirmation was received that the food was completely safe for consumption and had not been tampered with.
Leon breathed a sigh of relief.
Picking up the bread with the intention to eat, the two feather-clan beast-girls beside him quickly stopped him.
“Let us feed you, young hero~” Shadow held onto his arm.
The beautiful feminine figure of the feather-clan beast-girl called Shadow leaned toward him; the perfect curves of her medium-sized breasts were exhibited in full due to her purposeful movements.
Leon originally planned to refuse.
After Lunara’s arms unraveled from around his neck, Leon changed his mind. Although being fed was embarrassing, it was better than the previous situation of having her breasts squeezed against him all the time.
Therefore, Leon stayed silent.
Lunara’s beautiful wings with intricate black feathers were showcased as she moved in front of him, along with her delicate backside.
When Lunara was busy trying to cut the heavenly bread, Leon awkwardly adjusted his body and tried to hide his erection.
A small piece of bread had been cut.
Shadow picked up the slice of bread, adjusted her position to a kneeling position on the chair on his right and folded her black wings behind her.
“Open wide~” Shadow tilted her shoulders to the side, teasingly swayed the bread in front of his mouth. Her upper body was leaning toward him and her bare breasts were fully displayed.
Leon awkwardly opened his mouth as the delicious scent of the fresh bread entered his nose.
When Shadow gently moved the bread into his mouth, his lips accidentally wrapped around her delicate fingers.
Heavenly bread tasted quite delicious, freshly baked and warm.
Yet, the unfamiliarity of the act of being fed by a beautiful girl caused him to feel particularly embarrassed… especially considering her state of undress.
Leon was completely unaccustomed to being fed like this.
Eating was an extremely private action.
As a result, Leon’s body was filled with a variety of strange sensations.
The deliciousness of the heavenly bread brought a strange sense of satisfaction.
The beautiful boobs of her body with perfect red nipples purposefully displayed before him eyes caused arousal and shyness when combined with her intimate behavior of feeding him.
The invasion of privacy as her tender fingers were caught between his lips caused a shiver run down his spine.
Everything was extremely extravagant.
One of Shadow’s hands played with her soft mounds and trailed across her crimson nipples as she continued to feed him.
Leon tried to avoid paying attention to her exposed breasts and teasing behavior as he ate.
The fluffy tail of Skitty repeatedly brushed against his left arm, seemingly intent on reminding him about her presence.
By the time the meal was over, Leon was completely mentally exhausted from the two feather-clan waitresses.
The beast-girls seemed to be obtaining amusement from teasing him and performed various actions to ensure that he remained aroused the entire time.
Fortunately, after his altercation, the two waitresses merely showcased their bodies and didn’t attempt to go further.
Walking out of the restaurant onto the remote street, Skitty walked slightly in front and mumbled angrily to herself.
The fluffy brown tail that protruded from the cat-girl’s tailbone lifted her skirt, freely revealing her black panties as she walked.
A ray of sunshine lit her body from above.
Skitty twirled around and crossed her arms behind her back.
“So, Leon~” Skitty leaned her beautiful body toward him and one of her fluffy ears folded to the side. “Do you want to stay over at my house tonight?”
Skitty’s actions had a trace of temptation as her tail seductively wandered in front of her thighs and gently flicked her skirt.
“…” Leon silently observed the beautiful cat-girl in front of him and gulped.
The sexual teasing from the two feather-clan had left him in a state of desire and his mental exertion to control himself was already running low.
Furthermore, this was a cat-girl!
The object of countless men’s aspirations in his previous life.
There is opportunity and mutual desire.
Skitty does not appear to be seriously affected by the Twin Succubus’ Blessing based on her reactions and asked him out regardless.
In addition, only by spending time with Skitty can he get to know her. He had a degree of personal good-will toward Skitty.
“Good.” Leon gave a slight nod.
“Ah? What?” Skitty blinked in genuine surprise and confusion appeared on her face. “Really? I thought you would refuse.”
An unknown thought appeared in her head and a visible blush appeared on the cat-girl’s cheeks, which caused her tail to sway erratically.
“So…” Leon’s lips twitched and shrugged. “-would you prefer if I refuse?”
“No!” Skitty scrambled over to his side and protested. “You already agreed! It’s impossible to refuse now!”
“I’m pretty sure that’s not how consent works.” Leon complained.
“I don’t care!” Skitty rested her head against his chest.
The warmth of her soft, feminine body flooded his senses.
“Anyway, you already agreed!” The cat-girl repeatedly shook her head in a playful fashion, her fluffy cat-ears repeatedly brushing against his chin. “You cannot refuse now!”
“Yes, yes.” Leon gently patted her head like comforting a child. “I won’t refuse.”
“Good~” Skitty was relieved enough, before slowly releasing him and a hint of hesitation appeared on her face.
“What is it?” Leon knew there was a problem with her expression at a glance.
“Actually, my family is at home~” Skitty awkwardly put her fingers together and averted her gaze with a slightly guilty expression. “They certainly won’t mind, but it might be better to play elsewhere.”
“Ah?” Leon was slightly confused, but thought that it would be a bit awkward to meet her family. “If you don’t care about breaking some rules, you can join me in the elven villa.”
“Good.” Skitty agreed without hesitation.
“This way, then.” Leon led the way to his home, the elven villa without much hesitation.
“Wait! I want to pick up some supplies.” Skitty grasped his arm and pulled him in an unknown direction. “It won’t take long!”
“Alright.” Leon relented and let her lead the way.
“Wait here, I’ll just be a couple minutes.” The cat-girl quickly dashed inside an all-purpose store that sold food and general daily necessities.
Her tail swayed causing her black panties were faintly visible.
Leon silently watched her rush into the store with question marks appearing above his head.
He thought that Skitty might go to a clothing store and buy some inappropriate underwear or something.
-but this was just a regular store? Leon had been inside this store before.
The general contents of were mostly foodstuffs, daily necessities, and medical supplies.
‘Maybe, Skitty wants to get some daily necessities since she is staying over the night?’ Leon pondered to himself and felt that she was indeed more prepared than him.
Regardless of his thoughts, Skitty came out of the store a couple of minutes later with two bags.
“Alright!” Skitty held the bags and gestured for him to lead the way to his home.
Leon obliged and quickly walked in the direction of villa. It was only a short walk to the elven villa.
