Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Legendary Prosthetic Body Acquired

Judy leaned against the wall, standing near a group of malfunctioning pleasure puppets.

From time to time, she glanced toward the stairs, waiting for Peter to arrive.

"Peter."

The moment she saw him, Judy quickly walked up to him.

Peter gave her a nod. "Let's go see Brother Finger now."

Just as they were about to push forward, a loud, irritated voice interrupted them.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?"

"Line up, damn it! Do you not understand how queues work?"

"You can't just barge in like that! Sit down and wait your turn like the rest of us!"

Several pleasure puppets in revealing outfits glared at Peter and Judy. They were all here because of faulty prosthetic bodies, waiting for repairs. Some had likely been in line for hours. Seeing Peter and Judy trying to skip ahead naturally made them furious.

Peter didn't hesitate. His voice was cold and sharp.

"You have two options—shut up, or I'll put a bullet in you right now."

At the same time, David and Jack subtly lifted their jackets, revealing the firearms strapped to their waists.

Instantly, the complaints stopped. The puppets fell silent, exchanging nervous glances. They knew better than to argue. Their lives were already miserable—none of them wanted to test if death would be any better.

Peter turned to one of them. "Have you seen Brother Finger?"

The puppet hesitated before shaking their head.

Judy sighed. "That guy's harder to meet than some of the top surgeons in the city. But Peter, don't make things difficult for them. They're just trying to make a living."

Peter shrugged. "We just need to ask him a few questions. It won't take long. Right?" He glanced at the puppets again.

One of them quickly nodded. "No problem, no problem."

"See? They're fine with it." Peter smirked at Judy.

Judy crossed her arms. "Well, yeah. Of course, they wouldn't dare complain now that you pulled a gun on them."

Peter shrugged again, indifferent. "Like I said, this won't take long."

For a moment, the tension lingered in the air. But soon, the puppets went back to waiting quietly. They knew things could be much worse if Peter and his crew weren't as "civil" as they were being right now.

Just then, the door to the clinic's operating room opened. A puppet with freshly repaired implants stepped out.

Peter and Judy wasted no time and slipped inside.

Inside, Brother Finger was washing his hands at a sink. Without looking back, he spoke in a casual tone.

"Need something?"

"We have a few questions," Judy said, her voice calm but firm. "We're from Mo Kesi."

The moment he heard that name, Brother Finger stiffened slightly before turning around with an awkward smile.

"Mo Kesi, huh? Well, if it's you guys, sure. What do you need?"

Despite being an all-female gang, Mo Kesi had a fearsome reputation. Their ruthlessness was on par with the old gangs of the city, if not worse. They were known for rescuing escaped puppets from the Tiger Claw Gang—and for dealing with anyone who got in their way.

Peter didn't waste time. "Evelyn Parker. We heard someone sent her to you."

For the briefest moment, Peter saw Brother Finger's pupils contract. A telltale sign of panic.

"You two," Brother Finger said, forcing a smile. "Come to my office. We'll talk there."

Peter and Judy followed him inside.

The office was dimly lit, cluttered with old cyberware parts and scattered tools.

Brother Finger sat down and leaned back in his chair. "Look, I get a lot of people coming in here. Too many to remember, really. I can tell you this, though—my services are top-tier. If you ask anyone around, they'll vouch for me."

Peter leaned forward, unimpressed. "Forrest. Or, if you don't know his real name, the Wooden Man."

Brother Finger froze for half a second before recovering. "Never heard of him."

Peter smirked. "And yet, someone told me that Evelyn Parker was here with you."

Brother Finger's fingers twitched slightly. A bad poker face.

"Wait… Have you seen the Wooden Man?" he asked hesitantly.

Peter gave him a slow, deliberate nod. "Yeah, we had a nice little chat. If all went well, he should be sipping coffee with Satan right now."

Silence.

Brother Finger swallowed hard. He knew what that meant.

A deep breath. Then a nervous chuckle. "Alright, alright. Yes, they brought Evelyn Parker to me. But I couldn't fix her implant. The Wooden Man refused to pay, so instead, they gave her to me as 'compensation'."

Judy clenched her fists. Her voice trembled with anger. "Shut the hell up! I don't want to hear this!"

Brother Finger shrugged. "Strictly speaking, she's half-alive." He sighed. "Poor girl. I actually wanted to help her, you know? But, well, look around—my equipment isn't exactly top-of-the-line."

Peter's patience was wearing thin. "Where is she now?"

Brother Finger averted his gaze. "I don't know."

"Liar!" Judy snapped. "Tell us where she is, you sick bastard!"

Brother Finger sighed again, knowing he couldn't lie his way out of this. "Fine. I tried to fix her, but I couldn't. So I… contacted a middleman and sold her off. They said she'd be taken to shoot some 'special content'."

Judy's eyes filled with rage. She lunged forward, slapping Brother Finger across the face so hard that the sound echoed through the room.

"You're the reason this city is so rotten!" she spat.

Tears welled in her eyes, and Peter gently placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Judy, go outside. Take a minute."

Judy hesitated, but eventually nodded, turning on her heel and storming out.

Peter turned back to Brother Finger, his eyes cold.

"So let's see… The Wooden Man sold Evelyn to you. Then, once you got bored, you sold her to Okada and Ukako as if she were a product."

Brother Finger's face paled.

Peter leaned in slightly. "And let me guess. Heichaomeng, also known as the Fried Skeleton Moths, are probably the ones who have her now. Last I checked, they were running their operations under the Twist Street underground passage. Sound about right?"

Brother Finger's mouth fell open.

Peter smirked. "What's wrong? Shocked that I know more than you?"

Realizing he had no value left, Brother Finger began to tremble.

"No, no, please. Don't kill me," he begged. "I-I have something for you! Two fifth-tier legendary prosthetic bodies! I'll give them to you, just… just let me live!"

Desperate, he scrambled under his mattress, pulling out a box.

Peter opened it. Inside were two prosthetic bodies—top-tier cyberware, the kind people would kill for.

Peter exhaled slowly.

"Fine," he said at last. "I'll take them."

He grabbed the box and turned toward the door.

As he stepped out, Brother Finger collapsed into his chair, sweating profusely.

Peter didn't look back.

His eyes glowed red in the dim light.
