"I think I've figured out who attacked Evelyn," Alex Carter said.

"People from the Voodoo Boys?" T-Bug also offered her guess.

"In that rundown place in Pacifica, hackers of this caliber are usually under the Voodoo Boys' control."

As a hacker, T-Bug naturally had connections and insights.

These were quite informative.

Alex wasn't surprised by this.

"I agree with you, but let's find out where Evelyn is first."

On the other end of the communication, Jack also shared some news: "I heard there's an old friend of Evelyn's in the VIP area who might know something."

Alex nodded: "Alright, I'll go check it out. You wait for my update."

With that, Alex headed towards Evelyn's old friend—Tom's room.

In reality, he didn't need to go through this trouble. He could have gone straight to the manager of Clouds, known as the Woodman, who was one of the culprits behind Evelyn's tragedy.

But with T-Bug's involvement, he had to go through the motions to keep everything logical and organized.

After some questioning, Alex finally "found" the Woodman's office.

From there, things were straightforward.

No talking, just action.

With his professional combat skills and the enhanced physical strength from the Blacklight virus, Alex knocked the Woodman unconscious before he could even draw his gun.

There were useful things on the computer.

No need to waste words with this pervert.

After collecting the information, Alex "discovered" through logical deduction that Evelyn had been handed over to the ripperdoc, Fingers, by the Woodman.

"T-Bug, can you activate the elevator for me?" Alex asked.

"Sure, it'll be done soon."

Alex nodded in satisfaction.

The elevator was right next to the Woodman's office. If you had Corpo connections, you could trigger a dialogue with the Woodman, avoiding a fight and taking the elevator.

This was undoubtedly more convenient.

"V, Jack, you two leave first. I'll catch up later."

"Alright, take care of yourself."

"The mission's over, I'm logging off." With the elevator opened, T-Bug disconnected from the three.

Alex finally breathed a sigh of relief.

To be honest, while having a hacker like T-Bug assist was convenient, he didn't like the idea of someone sharing his vision.

It felt like being watched.

And for someone familiar with the plot, it required doing a lot of unnecessary work.

"Ah, it's tough."

Alex sighed, picked up the Woodman, and headed towards the elevator.

"Let's go, you pervert. I'm taking you on a little trip today."

...

"Alex, why did you bring that guy out?" V frowned, glancing at the trunk, puzzled by Alex's actions.

In response to V's question, Alex just smiled.

"Let's keep it a secret for now; you'll thank me later."

"Such mystery." V gave Alex a sidelong glance, then casually ignored him and opened communication with Judy.

"V? How did it go, any news?"

Judy sounded anxious on the other end.

V nodded: "Evelyn was remotely hacked, and it seems the Woodman sent her to Fingers."

"Fingers? That ripperdoc on Jig-Jig Street? I've heard of him." Judy's face showed a hint of relief.

"I'll head over now; let's meet at Fingers' place."

With that, Judy hung up before V could respond.

Her urgency was evident.

Alex could only sigh.

The whole situation was a tragedy. He just hoped that when Judy arrived, she wouldn't unleash her anger on Fingers.

"Let's go find Fingers." With a nod, V led the way out of Megabuilding H8.

...

Alex knew Jig-Jig Street well.

No need to ask; it's all about the missions.

They reached Fingers' clinic effortlessly.

As expected, the trio encountered three sleazy gangsters at the clinic's entrance.

Seeing V's pretty face, the three ignored Alex and Jack, directing their catcalls at V.

"Oh, look who's here?"

"This girl's as pretty as a picture. Looking for someone to set your heart on fire? I'm your guy!"

"Yeah, right. In your dreams!" Alex roared, launching a punch.

He'd already steeled himself for these thugs, knowing they were a problem.

People with mouths full of filth didn't deserve to stick around.

"Wham!"

With his enhanced strength, Alex's punch went straight through the chest of the leader.

A mass of shattered bones and organs exploded from the gangster's back.

Then the blood-red tendrils enveloped him, digesting him in an instant, leaving no trace of blood!

This scene widened the eyes of the other two gangsters in horror.

Even V and Jack looked at Alex in shock.

They knew there was something strange about Alex's enhancements.

But... this was beyond strange.

A whole person, gone in an instant... just like that?

Seeing Alex's eerie abilities, the remaining thugs instantly lost their bravado.

"Damn it! Freak...monster!"

Before they could raise their guns, Alex moved swiftly and eliminated them both.

This time, he didn't consume the two.

He's actually quite discerning.

Unless truly hungry, he wouldn't 'eat' such scum.

The first one was purely because he was starving.

He had told Jack in the car that they'd grab some food at Clouds before working.

But V didn't give them a chance to eat.

Seeing their shocked expressions, Alex shrugged it off.

"Don't mind me; there are more sinister things. Let's deal with Fingers first."

Thinking of that sleazy ripperdoc, a sneer played on Alex's lips.

This ripperdoc, who could be killed off in the game, had some good items.

But as a person, he was despicable.

He used living people as commodities, trading them casually.

Such a person is beyond redemption!
