Buenhermano (good brother), please don't mention anything about going to Clouds to Misty."

Jack looked at V and Alex Carter with a pained expression.

He had finally managed to have a nice meal with Misty, only to be dragged away by these two.

Alex smiled: "Relax, Jack. Let's focus on Clouds first."

"Do you have any ideas?" V asked.

Ideas?

Alex let out a sigh.

He had too many ideas, and it was a bit overwhelming.

If the goal was simply to complete the task quickly, he could have taken V and Jack straight to the factory to rescue Evelyn.

But doing so would leave many questions unanswered.

For instance, how did he know Evelyn was there?

Moreover, without Judy's involvement, would it lead to unforeseen consequences?

After careful consideration, Alex decided it was best to stick to the main storyline's progression for this part.

First, for his own benefit.

Second, to ensure Judy's involvement to the fullest extent.

More interactions meant more opportunities.

As for rescuing Evelyn early, would it prevent her from taking her own life?

He felt doubtful.

First, the chip burned her, rendering her a shell of her former self, and then she was treated like a toy, used mercilessly for three whole days by the Maelstrom.

And then sold to scavengers...

How could someone with such aspirations survive such brutal blows?

"Alex, why are you so quiet? Haven't had a good rest these past two days?" Jack asked with concern from the back seat.

"You've been very busy these days. Maybe V and I should handle the Clouds mission, and you can take a break."

In response to Jack's concern, Alex shook his head slightly.

"It's nothing, I was just thinking about Clouds. I've almost got a plan."

"Oh?" V, who was driving, glanced at Alex: "Tell us about it."

While recalling the layout of Clouds, Alex said:

"First, we'll leave all weapons in the car. Clouds enforces a strict no-weapons policy. To enter, we need to store our weapons at the entrance."

"If anything happens or we need to leave quickly, this will prevent the loss of unrecoverable weapons."

"That makes sense." Jack nodded, taking out his two golden pistols and placing them in the car's compartment.

"Secondly, Clouds is divided into two levels: the regular area and the VIP area. To enter the VIP area, you need special access."

"When we arrive, we'll split up. You two will search for Evelyn's room on the first floor, while I try to access the VIP area for further investigation."

"We'll take things one step at a time."

"Remember, we're unarmed, so avoid direct confrontation with the staff at Clouds."

V and Jack nodded.

They had confidence in Alex's abilities.

However...

"Alex, you seem familiar with Clouds. Are you a regular?" V glanced at Alex, a hint of something unspoken in her eyes.

"Ahem, no, not at all. I'm quite clean and respectable."

"Oh? Is that so? And how about when you're with Panam? Do you keep things clean then?"

"..." Alex's eye twitched.

What the heck!

V, what's going on?

How did she know he'd been with Panam these past few days?

"Rogue called me yesterday, asking if you and Panam knew each other before," V said coldly.

Alex was at a loss for words.

Damn Rogue, selling me out just to gather some trivial information?

No wonder Panam cursed her!

"Hey, is there trouble brewing at home?" Johnny suddenly appeared in the back seat, looking at Alex with amusement.

Alex rolled his eyes: "How can I compare to you, the master of juggling four relationships at once?"

"Ha, you can't learn this skill."

As he bantered with Johnny in his mind, Alex tried to figure out how to explain things to V.

However, just as he was about to speak, he hit a snag.

"I don't think you have anything pressing these days. Maybe it's time you moved out of my place," V said expressionlessly.

"Wait, V, you mean you and Alex are living together now? You two..."

Jack's face lit up with a mischievous grin.

He patted Alex on the shoulder: "Chico (lad), you've really got it going on."

At this moment, Alex dared not respond.

He could clearly see V's forehead veins pulsing with irritation.

"Jack, can you keep your mouth shut?"

"Ha, alright, alright. Just remember to seize the opportunity, don't let someone else take the lead, Chica (girl)."

"Ugh!"

V slammed on the brakes, and Alex and Jack, caught off guard, nearly hit their heads.

"You two, get out of the car!"

...

Watching the car drive away, Jack and Alex stood by the roadside, exchanging bewildered looks.

Jack chuckled, patting Alex on the shoulder and said, "Looks like you've got your work cut out for you, Alex."

Alex rubbed his face in exasperation.

"I just know it's going to be a long walk to Clouds from here."

Stranded on the road, Alex and Jack had no choice but to call Delamain.

By the time they reached Clouds, V was already seated, enjoying dinner.

"Hey, I'm starving too..." Jack sat down with a grin, but V stood up.

"I'm finished. Let's get to work."

Jack's smile froze, and he shot a questioning look at Alex: "Alex, do you think something's up with V today?"

"Oh, you two blockheads, can't you see the problem?" Johnny chimed in with his usual mockery.

Alex twitched and cursed inwardly.

You don't need to mock me now.

When you hit the theater with Rogue and fire blanks, let's see how I laugh at you!
