Chapter 76: The Windcrest Clan's Descendants' Tutor

Kiran found it hard to believe that Ezekiel was going to fight them with that.

One of the traits of a Magical Swordsman was increased reflexes and reaction speed when wielding a bladed weapon.

And that drill-like weapon was not bladed.

'Has he gone mad?' Kiran thought.

Suddenly, Ezekiel charged at them.

Kiran widened his eyes in surprise and raised his sword to block, seeing as Ezekiel lunged straight at him.

But to his shock, Ezekiel advanced past him.

"YOU--" Kiran failed to complete his words before the sounds of steel clashing against steel echoed through the air.

Ezekiel dropped low and swept his leg out under the first attacker.

The attacker tumbled and hit the ground hard.

Ezekiel slashed forward, tearing open the person's uniform and etching a deep mark on his skin.

He spun to the side, using Spiral Fang to parry another strike.

Cling!! Cling!!

Sparks flew.

The drill surged to life, spinning rapidly.

The force of the drill knocked the sword from the second attacker's hand.

Ezekiel didn't hesitate.

He thrust into the shoulders of the second attacker.

His hands shook.

He slashed downwards.

"AHHH!!" Another guttural scream resonated through the air.

The second attacker was hurled back and landed on the ground.

His combat uniform was torn open, and his chest was now a mangled mess of flesh, blood and fibre.

Ezekiel raised his feet and slammed them against the face of the first attacker below him.

Crack!!

He shattered a few teeth.

The person fell unconscious.

The second attacker had fainted from being unable to feel the sensation of the pain.

"EZEKIEELL!!" A thunderous shout resonated from behind him.

Kiran had charged at him, enveloped in his fierce crimson aura.

The attack came fast from behind, slashing toward his neck.

Ezekiel leaned forward.

Flame Arrow!

The fourth attacker launched a flaming arrow at him from a distance.

Ezekiel twisted mid-air, attempting to dodge the attack.

The Azure Skybind Gale Sacred Art - Vacuum Bind Pulse!

Ezekiel froze. His vision blurred.

WWHHIRRR!! WHHIIIRR!!!

Spiral Fang extended, stabbing into the ground.

Using the force of the momentum, Ezekiel was hurled backwards, narrowing evading the flaming arrow.

Banng!

The grass was scorched black from the flames.

His back slammed against Kiran, launching both of them back like projectiles.

BAAMM!!

Kiran crashed against the bark of a tree, absorbing the force behind him.

"Argghh!"

Ezekiel reversed the grip of both swords in his hands.

He thrusted the iron blade into Kiran's thigh and slammed the back handle of Spiral Fang onto his head.

Steel drove through flesh and bark.

Skrrtchh!!

The blade was embedded deep into the tree, pinning him in place.

"AAGGRRHH!!" Kiran screamed out in pain.

His fierce aura dissipated into nothingness.

Kiran fell unconscious.

Three down. One more left.

Ezekiel stood up and lunged towards the last person with Spiral Fang.

WWHHIRRR!! WHHIIIRR!!!

"STAYY BACCK!! STAYY BACCKK!!" The last Windcrest Clan Descendant roared, seeing Ezekiel charge at him.

He retreated while continuously casting flaming arrows.

WHIISSHH!! WHIISSHH!!

Three flaming arrows were hurled at Ezekiel.

Ezekiel evaded, leaning from side to side, closing the gap between them.

A flaming arrow scratched the side of his cheek as he arrived in front of the attacker.

He punched forward.

The attacker gasped for breathe, his expression twisting in pain as he was hurled back.

Ezekiel grabbed his collar, pulling him back, and struck his knee against his chest. Pain tore through his ribs, coursing through every fibre of his being.

Fire Spark!

Ezekiel widened his fingers apart and cast a spell.

A flaming firework emerged, igniting against the attacker's chest, hurling him back.

Banng!!

The attacker crashed into several bushes before coming to a stop at a tree.

Silence.

[ Quest Completed. ]

I triggered a quest before I faced Kiran and the rest of the Windcrest Clan's Descendants.

It had been a big motivation that pushed me to attack first.

I wondered if they thought I was going to watch them surround me, without making use of the advantage of surprise to strike first.

Four against one. It wasn't a fair battle in the place.

Quest: The Windcrest Clan's Descendants bore a deep animosity towards you. They will not stop until you are crippled or disposed of.

[ You have gained +9% in Weapon Mastery: Sword. ]

[ You have gained +10% Basic Spell - Wind Rush ]

I felt a flood of understanding about swordsmanship opening up within my mind. It was as though I had received enlightenment.

In fact, it wasn't far off from an enlightenment.

I felt an urge to swing Spiral Fang, but I held back.

I also felt my mana surge through my spirit veins as my understanding of the Wind Rush spell increased.

I didn't have the wind attribute, so all of my wind-related spells were bound to be average. However, thanks to the increase, I could make up for what I lacked in potency and power.

┗ Weapon Mastery - Sword: Apprentice(88%)

┗ Wind Rush - Basic Spell (76%)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

I had yet to train my spells and sacred art, so I had no idea if my training regime would improve their proficiency.

I didn't claim the Windflare beads.

I didn't want to take the risk of summoning things out of thin air, in the presence of someone, regardless of whether they were unconscious or not.

I opened the description to see what they were.

[ Windflare Beads.

Function: A High Grade one Alchemical weapon, that when thrown or crushed, detonates with a burst of concentrated wind pressure, releasing a sharp shockwave against anything in its radius.]

I hadn't expected to obtain an alchemical weapon.

I touched the cut on his left cheek.

If I had faced all four Windcrest Clan Descendants with this, I was sure that I could walk away from the battle without a scratch.

With this, I was more assured of my safety.

Ding!

I unexpectedly triggered another quest.

[ ◆The Windcrest Clan's Descendants' tutor (2)

Quest: The Windcrest Clan's Descendants bore a deep animosity towards you. They will not stop until you are crippled or properly disposed of.

Just like Jaran, be the Windcrest Clan's Descendants' tutor. Let them all suffer defeat by your hand.

(0/0)

Reward: +3% in Weapon Mastery: Sword. +10% proficiency in a Wind-related spell.

Note: This quest can be refreshed. You will gain a reward for every Windcrest Clan descendant you defeat. ]

+10% proficiency in a Wind-related spell! A new reward.

When I faced Ivory, I had gained a +4% increase in Magical Swordsman rank and +4% Aura minor awakening, which was a significant increase in overall strength.

From Jaran, I had obtained Spiral Fang, a fantastic, uncommon magic weapon with exceptional abilities and near limitless growth potential.

I realized the other conditions that I wasn't aware of: the risk of completing the quest and the consequences that would follow.

As expected, the more I interacted with others, the more quests appeared.

Rustle... rustle...

I heard a sound emerging from the bushes.

I couldn't sense the presence of a magical beast.

I felt someone watching me.

However, I couldn't pinpoint their location.

I didn't call them out.

I needed someone to spread information about what had transpired here because I doubted that the Windcrest Clan's descendants would do so themselves.

Once their dignity was trampled upon by everyone, both by noble descendants and commoners alike, they would surely seek revenge.

Allowing the matter to rest without facing the person responsible for this shame would only worsen their reputation.

Then, I could complete the quest and harvest the significant rewards.

I walked to the four unconscious and injured Windcrest Clan's descendants and brought them together.

I pulled from iron sword from Kiran's thigh, wiped the blood off before sheathing it.

Fire Spark!

I continuously cast on the ground around me until waves of heavy clouds of dust and smoke rose into the air.

I sensed a telepathically message to CR1 and the others.

Using it as a heavy cloud and dust as cover, CR1 and the others came out, with several Sabre-tooth Rabbits tied with ropes, pulled behind them.

I opened my storage bag and used the opportunity to store CR1 and the others away while I pulled out a sack.

I placed the Sabre-tooth Rabbits into the bag and carried it over my back.

I lunged forward, leaping up onto the nearest tree.

Wind Rush!

Enhancing my speed, I swiftly vanished from the area in an instant.

[ Third Person P.O.V ]

As the heavy clouds of smoke and dust subsided, a blonde-haired figure, clad in the Grand Avalon Academy, stepped out from behind one of the bushes.

Milas scrutinised the bodies piled together on the ground. He snorted, sensing one of them was pretending to be unconscious.

He raised his hand and looked in the direction that Ezekiel had vanished into.
