Cursed Empire: Rising against the gods

Axel and Arthur, two representatives of their settlement, hurried towards the demon settlement as their first target.

The two remained quiet for most of the trip for two different reasons. Axel wanted him to start the conversation so he would know that he was interested, and Arthur was told to only observe him and not be friendly with him.

After a short race across the grass, they found the tribe of demons, around twenty of whom were continuing with their day. They seem to be mainly settlers based on their appearance.

From what it looked like, they most likely stumble upon a village and took the people belongings. There was only one succubus roaming the air wearing official demon armour.

Axel dismounted Diego and said to Arthur, "Give me ten minutes." But Arthur replied with a simple response, "Four minutes."

Axel smiled and walked towards the tribe, saying, "Fine by me. This is business after all." With each step he took, he built up momentum. Then, Axel began to sprint towards the tribe of demons.

A few noticed him running and assumed he was friendly until they saw his eyes and smile. He intended to kill them all.

Multiple black fireballs were shot towards him, which he dodged effortlessly. Before he could enter, the succubus stopped him.

Both clashed swords together, "Aren't you a cute one?" she said.

Axel broke the clash and shoved her back, "I get that a lot." he said with a condescending smile.

The succubus blew him a kiss before lunging towards him to prepare for a slash. Axel countered her attack with swiftness, even playing around with her.

When Axel tried to slash her, she transformed into a swarm of bats and immediately tried to counter with a slash, but he blocked with his sword and immediately retaliate with a back hand.

With every failed attempt on Axel's life, her frustration grew, "That's twenty times you could have killed me if you weren't such a useless swordsman." he exclaimed. Meanwhile, Axel was simply having fun, giving her small cuts all over her body.

Axel noticed an opening and completely sliced half of her left leg. Causing her to howl in pain, "If you can walk in the next ten seconds. I will leave everyone alone." He quickly cut her remaining leg off and watched her try to heal herself.

"ENOUGH!" A swarm of black bats appeared behind the succubus. Felt like a powerful presence was approaching.

A tall vampire cloaked in a long cape said, "A daywalker, it makes sense that they made you the leader." Axel was about to plunge his sword into the succubus but was stopped by the vampire's sword.

"I recall receiving information about a suspicious-looking man observing my tribe. I'm assuming that was you?" said the vampire.

Axel spits on the injured succubus and says, "Yes, I'm not here to talk. I'm here to slaughter your kind." He attempted to sneak attack the vampire but he blocked the attack.

A daywalker was going to be dangerous. They had everything a vampire wishes. To be able to conquer the sun.

But they lose the one thing that made them vampires. Their immunity.

Axel's left hand reached behind his back to grab something from a small bag attached to his belt. The vampire noticed this and tried to intervene, but Axel jumped back and tossed countless knives at him.

One knife made contact with the vampire's skin which caused his eyes and nose to bleed. Axel knives were specially dripped in poison in preparation against demons.

The vampire was aware of the type of person he was fighting, "Crafty—" At that moment, he took out the knife, Axel followed up with a powerful energy wave that pushed him back toward the tribe.

The succubus attempted to flee but received two knives thrown at her. This was a paralyzing and poison knife, "I don't need to worry about you anymore." He dashed towards the Vampire at insane speed ready to slash his head off.

However, Axel soon realized that he was not fighting just one opponent. Multiple demons charged at Axel while others fired various types of demonic magic at him.

Their plan was to have the leader recover from the poison. Before one of the demons could attempt to attack him. It was bitten by a surprise guest.

Arthur mauled the demon to bits before transforming into a tall and muscular human-like figure. He conjured a green energy axe and said, "I was given permission to assist with your cleansing. Thank the girl who begged my leader to allow this to happen." Without hesitation, he dashed forward, attacking any demon in his path.

Axel believed he could have handled everything by himself, but he smiled, knowing that Becca was doing her part, "Good work, partner." he said as he joined Arthur in battle.

Together the two killed countless demons while pushing forward with the assault.

Two minutes later, they managed to kill all the demons expected the vampire. They found the vampire in question unable to move from the spot where he passed out. The poison had taken effect.

Axel sat on the vampire's chest, twirling a strand of the vampire's hair as he explained his perspective on why he lost, "Some people might call it dishonorable to use poison in combat. Those are the same individuals who seek a more challenging fight with consequences. For me, it's a matter of strategy. I prefer to ensure that I achieve the best results with minimal effort. So really, if I was a bit different, I would have fought till I took my lost breath. But sadly, I was just the wrong opponent." He placed his bandaged right hand on his face, making sure to avoid his teeth.

"Wait, let's-" Despite his efforts to convince Axel, "Shhh, it will end soon." Axel simply didn't care.

The symbol began to glow, and the vampire started to burn in the white holy flames.

Arthur who was now in his wolf form, said, "I understand why he wants to work with you."

Axel turned his head and smiled, "I'm not that special. I believe I can accept compliments after we finish off the orcs," Axel playfully remarked.

Arthur laughs for a bit while licking his paw.

Axel stood back up and twirled his sword before sheathing it. "Let's go to the next place."
