Chapter 1434 Hidden Danger of the Grass Plains
Chapter 1434 Hidden Danger of the Grass Plains
Travelling deeper inside the secret realm while making sure to keep an eye on the strength of the demon beasts that he moved past along the way, Chu Yang was somewhat taken aback upon noticing that the strength of the demon beasts didn't seem to increase beyond the Sixth Stage of the Domian Lord Realm even after he had traveled for a little over two hours without stop.
At the same time, he also noticed that the forest that he had originally been travelling through had slowly turned into a large open grass plain where the only living beings were the few demon beasts he encountered every now and then while travelling.
Outside of demon beasts, there wasn't a single other living thing on the now seemingly endless grass plains he was travelling across.
Although this could be because of the unique environment of the secret realm that didn't allow anything other than demon beasts to survive inside of it, it was clear that this secret realm was not like that, as he had clearly seen a large number of normal animals while he had been travelling through the forest at the beginning.
All things considered, there should also be normal animals present on the grass plains, as there was more than enough grass to eat and no lack of water to sustain normal animals.
However, even with all of this, there were only demon beasts present on the grass plains. Not just that, but the strength of these demon beasts had all at least reached the Domain Lord Realm. Making it rather obvious that there was something that prevented the weaker demon beasts and normal animals from living there like these demon beasts.
Even though he had no idea what the thing preventing weaker demon beasts and normal animals from living on the grass plains, he didn't feel too scared about it, as it was clear that demon beasts who at least reached the Domain Lord Realm could live peacefully at the grass plains without any issues.
Considering his current strength, if a demon beast at the Earlier Stages of the Domain Lord Realm could survive on the grass plains without any problems, so could he.
So, with that in mind, Chu Yang continued moving forward at full speed. Only paying at bit more attention than normal to his surroundings in an attempt to try and figure out what it was that made weaker demon beasts and animals unable to live on the grass plains.
Whoosh-!
It was just at that moment, the grass beneath his feet seemed to have come alive, as countless stalks of grass rapidly increased in length before shooting towards him at a terrifying speed-
Swish-!
However, having already been prepared, Chu Yang easily used his domain to directly cut off and destroy the approaching green vines shooting towards him. Stopping them before they even had the chance to approach him.
Whoosh~
In turn, the remaining green vines transformed from the normal grass quickly retracted and turned into normal grass again like nothing had happened. Leaving Chu Yang staring at the grass all around him with a cautious expression on his face.
Although it wasn't all the grass around him that had suddenly transformed and attacked him just now, it was still over ten percent of it… And given the sheer size of the grass plain, Chu Yang realized just how much of this dangerous grass was all around him.
If anything, he finally understood why no normal animals or demon beasts below the Domain Lord Realm had managed to wander into the grass plains and live there. The seemingly living grass prevented this, as only with the help of his domain was, he able to fully restrain this living grass and prevent it from attacking him.
If not for him having a domain, he would have been forced to tangle with the living grass and would have inevitably ended up running out of strength and be exhausted to death.
The only thing that reassured him to some extent was that the strongest of the vines created by the living grass only seemed to carry the strength of someone around the early stage of the Nascent Soul Realm.
With that level of strength, even if he had just recently broken through to the Domain Lord Realm, he would be able to keep his domain up indefinitely to defend himself against such weak attacks if he just focused on absorbing qi at the same time.
The demon beasts living on the grass plains were likely doing the same or in some cases, they might even directly be capable of using their powerful bodies to resist the living grass and their attacks. Ignoring them completely without even using any of their strength to fight back against them.
Such a level of physical strength was only something possible for demon beasts, human cultivators simply couldn't compare to demon beasts when it came to the strength of their physical bodies, the only ones who could compare would be demonic cultivators after they reached the True Demon Realm and fully transformed their bodies or special divine physiques that allowed one a physical body far stronger than a normal human.
Thinking about this as he continued moving deeper into the grass plains, while having to fight off the living grass with his domain every now and then, Chu Yang soon spotted something amidst the sea of green all around him.
Approaching what appeared to only be a small dot in the distance, it quickly became clear that this small dot was far larger than he had first expected, as it soon grew into a massive mountain towering far above the empty grass plains.
Not just that, but Chu Yang also quickly noticed the large ruins located at the base of the towering mountain… And just outside of the ruins, he noticed the clear indications that a battle had taken place there not too long ago.
Given that he wasn't the only Domain Lord Realm cultivator who had entered the secret realm and there should have been several old experienced seniors at the Pinnacle of the Domain Lord Realm among those who entered the secret realm ahead of him, Chu Yang understood that the battle that had taken place in front of the ruins should have come from some of these older seniors who had entered ahead of him fighting with each other.
After all, even though there wasn't that much time between him entering the secret realm and them entering the secret realm, Chu Yang was still painfully aware that his current movement technique wasn't anywhere near what he had observed other Domain Lord Realm cultivators use.
In short bursts of speed during combat he was still fine, but for longer distance travel, he couldn't really compare to other Domain Lord Realm cultivators. Especially so considering that his main way of travel had been through flight with the assistance of his domain and his speed had been further reduced due to the flight restriction inside the secret realm.
"I really have to find some time to develop a proper movement technique that aligns with my domain…" muttering this to himself as he got closer to the base of the mountain where the ruins were located alongside the battle scars that had been left behind recently, Chu Yang slowed down his speed and became far more cautious about his surroundings.
Considering that the battle had taken place recently and he could judge that the strength of the two who had fought were above himself, he understood that there was a rather high chance that they were still around.
Even worse, it was likely that they had noticed him before he had noticed them, thus ending their battle early before waiting to ambush him when he appeared.
Filled with caution as he thought about this possibility, Chu Yang had already drawn his spear and was cautiously observing the ruins in front of him. His divine sense and domain actively concentrated in an area a little over a hundred meters around him.
The moment anything entered this small hundred-meter area around him, he would notice, even if it was someone in the Soul Ascension Realm actively trying to hide from him.
The main reason for this being that it was close to impossible for someone to avoid the detection of a combined domain and divine sense below the Dao Seed Realm.
Of course, the main flaw in searching in this kind of way was the fact that the area was extremely limited and if one wanted to hide, it would be easy to move out of the way.
Although, when a Domain Lord Realm cultivator was fully focused on their surroundings like this, there was close to no way for someone below the Dao Seed Realm to ambush them without being noticed.
Then again… If a Soul Ascension Realm cultivator at the Sixth Tribulation Realm wanted to kill someone in the First Stage of the Domain Lord Realm, the Domain Lord Realm cultivator would find it difficult to react in time to respond, let alone defend…
