Chapter 22: Chapter 21- Caught(2)
If Parkinson had the option to end this world right now, he wouldn't have thought twice about blowing it all up to cover the things everyone is about to see.
The door of his room was parted and everyone was assaulted by a strong scent of potions.
The headmaster frowned and glanced at Parkinson, "You were forbidden."
The green-haired scoffed, "That's the tradition."
The one who was holding Parkinson growled, "Speak respectfully, or your crimes will continue to pile up."
The teenager winced as his arms were twisted behind his back until the Headmaster gestured for him to stop.
The bespectacled man, formally known as Philius Croweb, heaved a sigh as he stepped inside the room.
He was aware that in the place where Parkinson comes from, potion-making is a very common job and something they take pride in. However, in this nation, to make a potion, one needs to gain a license first.
Philius naturally warned Parkinson when the teenager demanded to get himself a seat in the academy, however, Parkinson broke his promise.
"Oh, my lord..." The Headmaster's eyes stretched wide as he looked at the student's room, which was filled with nothing but a certain pink-haired girl.
Every corner of the room has something that is related to Rhea.
From the bedsheet to the couch, from the mat to the stuffed toys. Parkinson has painted everything in the shade of his classmate.
The other teachers were also disgusted at how Parkinson had decorated his room. It looked nothing less than horrifying, and most of all, Rhea was affected by all this quite severely.
Her feet felt numb as the girl couldn't believe what her eyes were showing her.
Valerie indifferently looked at the surroundings before she stepped forward and began searching the room
"Rhea...please listen to me. I wanted to tell you about my feelings but all the drama with Valerie and Austin...please trust me, my emotions were pure—"
"Just...just shut up!" Rhea clasped her hand before her face and begged him to close his mouth. Her voice was hoarse since she barely prevented herself from vomiting just now.
The same person she thought was pure and considerate was so...disgusting and deceiving all this time?
Parkinson was left speechless. He wanted to say something but couldn't utter a single word and just continued to move his mouth like a fish for a couple of minutes before suddenly, Valerie said,
"There is something in there." She frowned upon noticing the shallowness of the wooden floor beneath her feet compared to the other sides.
She summoned her Soul Shard and tore away the carpet—slashing Rhea's face drawn on it, in the process.
"STOP YOU!!" Seeing Parkinson aggressively trying to break free, everyone's suspicion rose.
Everyone gazed at the slight cracks in a square, signifying there was a secret door.
The headmaster gave Valerie the nod before the violette extended her shard burnt the lock on the small door, and raised her foot to stomp on it,
*CLINK*
The lock broke instantly and the door was flung open to the other side—however, the door didn't completely open as there was something that prevented it from showing everything inside.
All the color from Valerie's face disappeared when her gaze landed on the strands of golden locks.
Very slowly she stepped closer and pulled the door back before using her Aura to strengthen her body and tear away the door—only to find her body freezing the moment her gaze landed on the person lying half dead there.
"A-A-Austin...."
Philius instantly jumped inside and picked up the young man in his arms before pressing his fingers on his wrist.
Those few seconds, he took were like an eternity to Valerie. She looked at her Lord with her eyes blurred by her tears.
She died several times in those few seconds before the headmaster nodded and told her, "He is alive."
She slumped back on her legs, hearing that, allowing her breath, which had been stuck in her throat for a long, to seep out.
Valerie's face was hidden behind her long hair as she stared at Austin's battered body for a few seconds then suddenly,
Something snapped.
Valerie's trembling hand clenched into a fist as her eyes locked onto Parkinson. That glance alone was enough to horrify not only Parkinson but the Professor holding him.
Her body began to radiate a palpable aura of fury—dark and suffocating, like a storm tearing through the academy. The air grew heavy, each breath dragging as if the weight of her rage pressed down on everyone in the room.
Parkinson stumbled back, his knees buckling under the crushing force. "W-Wait! I didn't—"
"Enough!" Valerie's voice was a raw snarl, and her body erupted with Soul energy. Her shard glowed ominously, jagged cracks of light spilling out from her clenched hands.
The ground trembled beneath her as the walls groaned under the pressure of her unrestrained power. The temperature in the room plummeted, and a piercing chill swept through, sending shivers even through the most hardened teachers.
"She's losing control!" one teacher yelled, gripping their staff tightly to form a barrier around Parkinson.
"Valerie, stop!" another teacher cried, stepping forward to hold her back.
But it was futile. Valerie took a single step toward Parkinson, and the shockwave of her aura knocked the teacher to the ground, their barrier shattering like glass.
"You put him in there…" Valerie hissed, her voice trembling with grief and rage. Her movements were slow but deliberate, like a predator toying with its prey. "You tortured him."
Parkinson whimpered, his face pale as death. The very blood in his veins felt as if it had frozen solid. "I—It wasn't me! You have to believe me—!"
"Believe you?" Valerie's shout reverberated through the academy, shaking the chandeliers and cracking the windows. Her Soul energy surged like a tidal wave, blasting through the room.
One by one, the teachers stepped forward, each unleashing their power to suppress her. Defensive shields, binding spells, and suppressive sigils flared to life, encasing Valerie in a cocoon of shimmering light.
"Hold her down!" the headmaster ordered sharply.
The combined effort of the teachers strained against Valerie's immense strength, but she continued to advance, her burning gaze fixed solely on Parkinson. Each step forward sent cracks racing along the floor, fissures spreading through the very foundation of the academy.
Rhea had already been shot away by the immense force and couldn't even get up because of the invisible weight she was feeling all over her.
Her voice was low and guttural as she whispered, "You'll pay for this."
A flash of her Soul Shard illuminated the room, and a deafening roar of power erupted from her, blasting through the suppressive spells like paper. The teachers were hurled back, slamming into walls and furniture, groaning as they struggled to regain their footing.
Valerie raised her hand, her shard blazing with murderous intent, aimed straight at Parkinson's trembling figure.
Philius clenched his teeth as he removed the glove from his hand, 'Guess there is no option...'
However, before he could have stopped Valerie, Austin suddenly called out,
"Val..."
It was a very soft hum, which Philius barely heard—however, it worked like a wonder, slicing through the immense Aura of the girl, the whisper reached her ear, and instantly, Valerie stopped in her track and upon turning around, she saw her beloved raising his hand in her direction, and softly gesturing her to come closer.
Tears began to rain down her eyes as she walked through the broken mess of a room, and knelt beside her Lord.
Philius heaved a sigh and allowed her to take a hold of Austin as the violette hugged her beloved close to her and for the first time, everyone heard Valerie crying.
