Chapter 21: Chapter 8: Dog Catches Mice_3

Even if there were, the largest labor group in the world would still be the "Mechanical Laborers," leaving almost no job opportunities for the common populace.

Even submissive service industry jobs had to be fiercely fought over with all the ass-kissing one could muster.

For someone poor like him, he could only receive a meager welfare payment each month. He wasn't lacking food or warmth and even had a little extra money to spend, but that was about it.

Advancing even a single step seemed almost impossibly hard; their only apparent purpose was to serve as consumers to keep the economy going.

"Zzz."

The faint light continued, printing four collars on the ground, one for a cat and three for dogs.

"The roles of old cat and old dogs are to be determined by the remaining players."

"The game officially starts now. In 30 minutes, any player who hasn't been assigned a role will be eliminated."

Having said that, No. 97 had everyone staring at the cat and dog collars on the ground.

But only a flash of silver was seen, from the youth who had been busy smoking silently before.

He made the first move, scooping up all four collars into his hands.

The big bearded white man immediately grew anxious, "What are you doing? Give me the cat collar!"

The knife-carrying strong man and the masked man weren't slow either, closing in with a chilling tone, "We should vote on the distribution. Whoever gets the most votes gets the cat."

The youth with the silver gloves cursed, "Idiot."

While talking, he quickly put on the cat collar around his neck.

"You!"

The knife-wielding strong man, along with the masked man, lunged to grab the remaining dog collars, "Let go!"

The youth sneered, with claws suddenly shooting out from his silver gloves.

The two didn't dare to resist head-on even though they were close enough to strike back; they weren't willing to fight to the death right off the bat.

Both of them simultaneously let go and stepped back to dodge the claw strike.

"You asshole, you've already got the cat, why are you still holding onto the dog collars?"

The youth retorted, "Mind your own business."

"What should we do, Dong Chan?" the short masked man whispered.

The knife-carrying strong man furrowed his brows and looked up to demand, "Damn it, No. 97, what's the old dog's task? Just tell us already."

No. 97 calmly stated, "The game rules have been explained."

"What?" they exclaimed in surprise, "Can the old dog hunt rats to get a redemption ticket?"

"No."

"Then... can killing the old cat get a redemption ticket?"

"No."

"What?" The group was utterly confused. "What the hell is the old dog supposed to do?"

At this, the youth with the silver gloves even laughed, "Just like a dog catching mice, bothering about irrelevant matters?"

"If that's the case, may as well let those who poke their noses into others' business die."

While speaking, the youth flung his hand and shockingly threw the two dog collars over the garden wall, far away!

The other three Radiation, were instantly stunned; they hadn't even figured out the rules of the game yet.

But there were a few rules he understood very clearly: if they didn't secure their identities within thirty minutes, they would be executed.

And without an identity, he couldn't enter the estate...

"Damn it..." the burly man with the knife's eyes reddened, furiously shouting in dialect.

He then yelled at everyone, "What are you dumb rats standing around for? Go in there and get me that collar!"

The Silver Hand Youth stood in front of the gate, saying indifferently, "If anyone throws it out, I'll throw it back."

"Just try it!" the burly man couldn't hold back anymore and charged with his knife raised.

The masked short man shouted at the big beard, "Let's all go at him, let's kill this guy!"

The big-bearded man, also impatient, didn't say a word and just came swinging his axe.

The Silver Hand Youth, by just appearing, had already drawn the ire and taunts of three formidable enemies.

But facing the attack of the three, he simply chuckled, throwing the last dog collar far behind them, as if he were throwing a dog bone.

Seeing this, the previously irate big-bearded man turned and chased it, heading straight for the collar.

"You..." The other two brothers, a step slower, cursed in anger but helplessly followed suit, also turning to grab the collar.

That was the last one.

"Haha!" The big-bearded man grabbed the collar and was about to put it on.

The burly man with the knife had already drawn his blade and came slashing down, bellowing, "Let go!"

The big-bearded man, his beard bristling, said, "Whoever gets it, it's theirs! You want to fight here? I'm not afraid of you!"

He raised his big axe and slash down, the power source on the mechanical axe immediately emitted a faint blue glow, releasing a burst of Shockwave, which drastically accelerated the axe.

This strike was strong and heavy. Since they were all of the same level, the two opposite him didn't dare to take the hit head-on and hurriedly joined forces to block with their knives.

"Clang!"

The sound of metal clashing resonated loudly, sparks flying from the clash.

The immense force pushed the two men back repeatedly.

The big-bearded man quickly tried to use this opportunity to put on the collar, but as the masked short man backed off, he flung a dart, shooting it directly at his neck.

With his axe in hand being cumbersome, in a split-second decision, not wanting to get hit in the neck, he had to use his hand to block.

In that moment, several bloody holes appeared in his hand, and some tendon was broken, causing his fingers to involuntarily open, dropping the collar to the ground again.

The burly man with the knife had already taken the opportunity to swing his blade down, and the masked short man also cooperated, rolling on the ground to grab the collar quickly.

Seeing the attack from above and below, the big-bearded man could only raise his axe and slash straight down, fending off the burly man with the knife while also forcing back the masked short man.

But this was a matter of life and death, how could the two men give up? They fought crazily, attacking around the big-bearded man seamlessly, refusing to let him pick up the collar.

The three fought fiercely, quickly all showing signs of injury, their eyes turning bloodshot, fighting desperately as if their lives depended on it.

What about uniting? The brief alliance, fragile and fleeting.

And the youth who had instigated all this stood aside, chuckling as he watched the drama unfold, as if it didn't involve him.

He even mocked, "Now you know how to fight to the death? Why didn't you earlier?"

"In this place, stepping back means a bottomless abyss."
