Chapter 9: Chapter 9 Punctual Kakashi
Kakashi looked slightly embarrassed. "Is that so? I thought it was still before noon..."
Yuto didn't say much, simply unlocking his phone to show the time on the screen.
Kakashi nodded. "I see... I hadn't noticed this ninja tool also had a clock function."
Yuto sighed silently. He knew that, at least in this era, some basic electronic devices existed in this world… things like clocks, radios, and communication devices.
But he wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing that Kakashi had become so addicted to the game.
Kakashi hadn't come for anything important, and he just wanted to hang out and play some games.
Last night, he had unknowingly stayed up all night playing.
After getting tired of the battle Arena, he replayed the story mode a couple of times.
He couldn't figure out where this 'old man smell' people kept talking about came from. He believed it must be Naruto spreading rumors!
As a Ninja, how could he let such trivial comments affect him?
At first, Kakashi remained unfazed, but after some thought, he ended up taking a shower in the middle of the night.
During his time in the Anbu, he had many ways to mask his scent, which had made him somewhat insensitive to his own smell over time.
After pulling an all-nighter, he woke up and wandered over to Yuto's shop.
He sat in the same spot as yesterday and stayed there for hours.
Yuto, meanwhile, was seated at his workstation. He had long since used his resource quota to exchange for a computer, and most of the game development was done on it.
In reality, with the system's assistance, he could have done the work on his phone.
However, after spending over half a month squinting at the phone's tiny screen, Yuto had finally bitten the bullet and gotten a computer, which significantly sped up the development process.
Yuto didn't pay much attention to Kakashi's gaming. He was too busy working on new storylines and designing new characters.
For the second volume, the Land of Waves, he only needed to design Zabuza and Haku.
As for Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura's Genin forms, Yuto planned to introduce them in the third volume during the Chunin Exams.
After all, revealing the Chidori and Rasengan too early... didn't seem appropriate.
After finishing another small level, Yuto stretched and suddenly remembered something...
Earlier that morning, while buying breakfast at the market, he had overheard some aunties discussing whether their children could be assigned to a good instructor.
'Today seems to be the day when the Academy students were assigned their Jonin Instructors, which meant...'
Yuto glanced out the window and saw that the sky was already darkening.
It was clearly evening.
But... in Yuto's memory, Kakashi was supposed to meet Team 7 in the afternoon.
'Had I gotten the timing wrong?'
Since he had nothing better to do, and the person in question was right in front of him, Yuto casually asked, "Kakashi, isn't today the day the Academy students graduate? Did you know that?"
Kakashi's hands froze mid-game. After finishing his opponent with an ultimate technique, he put on a thoughtful expression and said, "Oh, right. I would have forgotten if you hadn't told me."
Yuto's mouth opened slightly, but he didn't know where to start complaining.
"Huh?"
He silently sympathized with Team 7 for three seconds...
After finishing the match, Kakashi stood up.
"Yosh, see you later, manager."
With that, Kakashi left in an instant as soon as he stepped out the door.
Yuto wiped the sweat from his brow, 'It seemed... Kakashi had genuinely forgotten about it.'
'This kind of unreliable behavior was exactly what expected from Kakashi in his usual state.'

Meanwhile, at the Ninja Academy.
Naruto had been lying on the desk, asleep for a while. If Sakura hadn't woken him up because she couldn't stand his snoring, he might have slept until the next morning.
Sasuke, on the other hand, had maintained his cool posture, with hands folded in front of him, since morning.
In fact, in Sasuke's heart, every time he thought about moving, he remembered that man's eyes...
Afterwards, he even held his urine. All the urine and tears he needed to shed had already been shed that night.
Naruto, still groggy, looked toward the door, "Where is that guy? Should we just go home?"
After hearing Naruto say this line no less than thirty times, Sakura's resolve began to waver as well.
But more than that, she felt a deep sense of disappointment. She still remembered how her parents had prepared a special breakfast for her that morning, encouraging her to become a great Ninja.
'If I return home empty-handed, it would surely disappoint them...
Creak…
The sound immediately caught the attention of all three.
It was the sound of their classroom's old sliding paper door.
Then, with a 'thud,' a dusty chalkboard eraser landed squarely on a tuft of white hair...
Although the hair had significantly cushioned the eraser's fall, it still hit with a solid impact.
The sound was crisp…clearly, it was a good head!
Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke were all stunned when they saw this scene.
After a brief moment of stunned silence, Naruto burst into laughter, clearly pleased with the success of his trap.
Maybe it was because the guy who had kept them waiting all day had finally gotten his comeuppance, or maybe it was a mix of both. Either way, Naruto was laughing his head off.
Sakura, on the other hand, immediately started apologizing.
Even though Kakashi who had made them wait nearly an entire day was incredibly frustrating, he was still their Jonin Instructor.
Whether or not they could become Genin and true Ninja depended on his approval.
Moreover, as a model student at the Academy, Sakura had always been good at respecting her teachers.
As for Sasuke... he just looked very speechless. While he wanted to stand up and scold this tardy Jonin, the numbness from sitting for so long and the urgent need to relieve himself kept him rooted to the spot.
'This guy doesn't look like a Jonin at all.' Sasuke thought in his heart.
Kakashi, realizing he might have been a 'little' late, chuckled awkwardly.
"Sorry, sorry. On the way here, I ran into a black cat. I spent a lot of effort trying to find its owner..."
"Liar!"
"Bull…"
"No one would believe that."
"…"
Kakashi knew his excuse wasn't the best, so he quickly straightened up and put on a serious face.
"Anyway, you guys thought it'd be funny to prank me? Well, my first impression of you isn't great. Just forget about graduating. You'll spend another year at the Academy."
After saying that, Kakashi was about to turn around and leave.
Immediately, all three of them jumped to their feet. Sasuke was the first to speak.
Since it wasn't wartime, academy students weren't allowed to graduate early, so Sasuke couldn't follow in his brother's footsteps and become a Genin ahead of schedule.
Now, faced with the possibility of being held back, Sasuke panicked. For the sake of his dream of revenge, he didn't want to waste another year playing house with a bunch of kids.
"Stop! What gives you the right to stop us from graduating?"
