Chapter 23: Asura Chronicles (1)

Two Million Years Ago—Desolate Era.

_____

The crimson sky of the Demon Realm churned with stormy winds as an awe-inspiring figure flew through it like a shooting star.

He was eight feet tall, his streamlined body radiating grace and unmatched power.

His blue skin shimmered under the light of the blood-red sun, and his golden hair cascaded down his back, wild and untamed, contrasting with his sharp, scholarly features.

His deep blue eyes held a piercing intensity, as though they could see through the secrets of the world. Though his appearance carried a refined grace, his bushy golden hair lent him an untamed, almost primal edge.

Even from afar, anyone who laid eyes on him felt a deep sense of awe—this was no ordinary demon.

Boom!

As he moved, the air itself seemed to part for him, acknowledging his supremacy and terrifying speed.

Domains blurred into insignificance beneath him; colossal fortresses, demon armies, and vast volcanic landscapes were crossed in mere seconds, his speed unmatched in all existence.

His aura was boundless, stretching endlessly across the Demon Realm. His aura alone could make mountains tremble and rivers freeze.

It pressed down on the world like the weight of a falling star, causing all who felt it to shudder, their knees buckling beneath his unseen might.

Jahar Adaegon—the Demon Asura, the strongest demon to ever exist—slowed to a halt above a sprawling castle nestled within a valley of jagged black rocks.

The castle, a symbol of beauty and resilience, stood as the heart of the Azure demon race. Its blue-hued walls sparkled with runes that protected and preserved the demons within.

Jahar gazed down at the slender, blue-skinned demons bustling below, their faces free of fear and filled with hope.

For centuries, they had thrived under his protection, rising from the ashes of servitude to become a race worthy of respect.

Hovering in the sky, Jahar's eyes softened as he looked down at his people. A faint sigh escaped his lips, carried by the wind like the whispers of eternity.

"No matter how strong you are, no matter how much you achieve… the chains of mortality can never be broken. Even a divine being is not spared from the curse of time."

His gaze lingered for a few more moments, the weight of his thoughts etched into his handsome face. Then, his expression hardened.

His aura flared, golden light exploding around him like a second sun. The very air vibrated with power, and the sky itself seemed to warp under his presence.

In an instant, Jahar shot upwards, faster than lightning, leaving behind a deafening sonic boom that echoed across the Demon Castle.

Demons in every corner of the castle looked to the heavens, their hearts trembling at the sight of their protector ascending.

High above the clouds, Jahar came to a stop. His golden aura expanded, bathing the dark skies in light as if the sun itself had descended.

He extended his hand, slender but brimming with unimaginable power, and casually sliced through the air before him.

Rip!

A deafening rip tore through existence. The sky cracked open, revealing a terrifying black void behind it.

It was the Void, a realm beyond time and space, a place no mortal dared to enter.

The jagged rift glowed faintly, as though reality itself was protesting this intrusion. Jahar gazed into the void, his expression calm yet resolute.

He turned his head once more, his piercing gaze sweeping over the world he had protected for millennia.

"This is the only path," he whispered. Then, without hesitation, he stepped into the void, vanishing into the unknown.

The Void was an endless abyss, silent and oppressive. No light existed here, no sound, no sense of direction—only the crushing weight of nothingness.

Jahar moved through it with purpose, his golden glow the only source of light in this eternal night.

Centuries passed as he traversed the void, but his face remained stoic, his resolve unshaken. He had endured far worse than this.

After what felt like an eternity, a faint red light appeared in the distance. It was small at first, like a flickering flame in the darkness, but as Jahar drew closer, it grew larger and brighter, until it filled his vision.

The crimson light pulsed like a heartbeat, its rhythm ancient and powerful.

"So this is the Realm Epicenter," He said, his voice calm but filled with quiet awe. "The heart of the Demon Realm… the core of its existence."

The red glow guided him deeper, and soon he found himself before its source: a massive orb floating in the centre of the crimson light.

It was black and red, its swirling energy so dense that it warped reality around it. The air crackled with its power, ancient and overwhelming, as though the orb itself carried the weight of all time.

Jahar stopped a short distance away, his eyes narrowing as he studied the majestic sphere. Its aura pressed against him like a tidal wave, but he stood firm.

The orb began to pulse more rapidly, sensing his presence. A deep, booming voice erupted from it, shaking the very fabric of the void.

"Jahar Adaegon, Demon Asura," the voice rumbled, dripping with arrogance. "You dare to stand before me, the Core of the Demon Realm? I am the essence of this world, older than the stars themselves. What makes you think you are worthy of my attention?"

Jahar's golden aura flared in response, clashing with the Core's crimson light. His gaze was sharp, unyielding.

"I have come to make a deal," he said, his voice cutting through the Core's booming presence.

"I am nearing the end of my life, but I will not let my people fall back into servitude. I demand that you grant me what I seek."

The Core pulsed again, its energy swirling violently. Laughter echoed across the void, mocking and filled with disdain.

"A deal? You stand before the soul of the Demon Realm, a being beyond your comprehension, and you demand a deal? Such arrogance."

Jahar's expression remained calm, though his aura grew brighter, more intense. "I do not ask. I am here to prove my worth. And if it takes my last breath to secure the future of the Azure demons, then so be it."

The Core paused, its swirling energy slowing as if pondering his words. Finally, its voice returned, quieter now but no less commanding.

"Very well, Asura. But power is not given freely. Prove to me that you are worthy of this sacrifice. Prove that your resolve is unbreakable."

Jahar's golden light blazed like a miniature sun, illuminating the crimson void. He clenched his fists, his blue eyes glowing fiercely. "Then let it be done."
