Chapter 7: Chapter 7
[No mercy!]
immediately the system sounded.
Without hesitation, Kai pulled the trigger. The sound echoed through the room, followed by a deafening silence.
There were no dramatic last words, no final monologue - just the swift delivery of justice to a man who had caused too much suffering to the innocent.
[Justice served at last]
The blue text faded from his vision as Kai turned his attention to the trembling girl.
She had squeezed her eyes shut during the whole confrontation, tears streaming down her bruised cheeks.
without being told Kai could tell she was afraid so he decided to calm her down.
"It's okay now,"
Kai said softly, his voice gentler than it had been moments ago.
He knelt beside her, carefully cutting through the ropes with a knife from his uniform.
"You're safe now. No one going to hurt you anymore."
After cutting the ropes, Kai could see the girl's arms and legs were marked with rope burns, but she seemed otherwise physically unharmed.
She looked up at him with a mixture of fear and hope, her small frame shaking as she struggled to stand.
Just then, a new navigational marker appeared in Kai's vision - a glowing path leading to what appeared to be the other side of the city.
Without being told he could tell the system was showing him where to take her, but the distance made him frown. They were at least an hour away by foot, and he only had minutes left on his mission timer.
'This location is damn far, how did the system expect me to get their on time.'
He murmured to himself.
At that moment Kai stood at the entrance of the building, the girl holding tightly to his hand as he calculated the impossible distance they needed to cover, carrying the girl means he can't run that fast anymore.
The mission timer continued its merciless countdown in the corner of his vision.
At that moment the system sounded.
[Reward unlocked: For executing justice without hesitation, Host has been granted a Super Bike]
Immediately Kai's eyes widened as the message appeared.
He looked around and he didn't see any bike, so he was confused but he decided to step outside, and there it stood - a sleek, matte-black SuperBike that seemed to absorb the surrounding light. Its design was unlike anything he'd ever seen, with subtle blue energy lines pulsing along its frame.
without being told he could tell the bike looked powerful, dangerous even.
But there was one small problem that made Kai's stomach knot - he had never driven anything more powerful than a regular bicycle in his life. The gleaming machine before him was far from a regular bicycle.
He doesn't know if he could ride a bike like this.
However his eyes darted to the mission clock: 20:00... 19:59... 19:58...
"No time for doubt."
He swung his leg over the bike, and to his amazement, knowledge seemed to flow into him through his point of contact with the machine.
The system's interface flickered in his vision, showing him everything he needed to know about operating the Super bike.
"Hold on tight,"
he told the girl, helping her climb on behind him. Her small arms wrapped around his waist, trembling slightly.
The bike roared to life with a sound unlike any regular Super Bike- a deep, almost ethereal hum.
They shot through the city streets like a shadow, the bike responding to Kai's thoughts as much as his movements. Buildings blurred past them as the navigation marker guided their way.
Not long after they finally reached her house, Kai helped her down. Before he could turn to leave, the little girl threw her arms around his waist, hugging him tightly. Her face pressed against the strange material of his uniform, tears soaking into the fabric.
"Thank you,"
she whispered, looking up at his masked face. Her eyes were curious despite her ordeal, studying the featureless mask that concealed Kai identity.
"Can... Can I see your face?"
Kai shook his head gently, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder before stepping back.
Without a word, he mounted the bike and disappeared, leaving the girl staring after him.
At that moment the mission timer vanished from his vision, replaced by a new marker pointing to a nearby rooftop.
The pressure of time had lifted, but something told him this wasn't over yet.
Following the guidance system, Kai maneuvered his bike through quiet streets until he reached the indicated building not too far from where he had just dropped the little girl.
He Parked his super bike and made his way up to the rooftop, his enhanced vision allowing him to see clearly.
From his vantage point, he could see the scene unfolding below. Police cars with flashing lights surrounded the house he'd just left. The girl's parents were holding her tightly, tears of joy streaming down their faces as they covered her with kisses and relieved embraces. Several officers stood nearby, their expressions a mixture of confusion and disbelief as they tried to understand how the girl had suddenly appeared at her doorstep when their investigation had led nowhere.
As Kai watched the reunion below, Another text materialized before his eyes:
[This is what justice feels like when done right]
At that moment a sense of satisfaction washed over him. This was different from his police work - no paperwork, no bureaucracy, just pure, direct action and he got the result he wanted.
[Mission completed]
[Host has been rewarded with a special silence gun.
Bring your enemies down in silence]
At that moment a sleek, black pistol materialized in his hands. Its design was unlike anything he'd seen before - no visible moving parts, just smooth, deadly efficiency.
[Host has been rewarded with the Power bike. Host can use it anytime. It would be stored inside the system storage.]
At that moment the Super bike behind him pulsed with a soft blue light before disappearing into his system storage, so did the gun. Kai smiled beneath his mask - his collection was growing.
[Preparation for the next mission...
[2000 push-ups
2000 squats
2000 jumping jacks
100-Kilometer run]
The mysterious sequence made his heart rate quicken.
"Whatever was coming next, would definitely be bigger than what I just finished"
He said to himself quietly.
[Evildoers never sleep and so would Host not sleep]
