Chapter 10: leave

Ryan wasted no time bolting towards the beast, he slammed his fist into the top of the beast head, pushing it back into the ground it came from.

The death worms released a shriek and in seconds, others swarmed from behind it.

Lucy and Vicki had both been woken up by the commotion that was going on outside, and the other travellers had been scurring away grabbing as much valuables as possible.

Obidiah and victor stood to their feet, victor honestly unable to do anything without his sword, and obidiah again stocking his empty chin.

Victor looked at Vicki, signalling her too go over and help Ryan. With Lucy quickly following suit.

He recognised the beast before him, and he knew for a fact that neither of them could take it on one on one, not even Ryan. Especially in that number.

As the other death worms jumped out from the ground, Ryan threw his fist frantically pushing them back, as he focused on defending himself another worm used his face as a weapon and slammed Ryan into the floor below him.

As the beast circled him to devour or rip him apart, massive bolts of lightnen descended from the sky, covering the majority of their large giant bodies.

Lucy jumped in afterwards, grabbing Ryan and signalling Vicki to get them out of there, she grabbed them both, and with a cloud of mist, They were gone.

The bolts of lightnen barely stunned the worms, and they were already back to their senses moments later.

The travellers had fully packed their things and were ready to move.

"Master, we're all ready to move, we need you to just come with us". A man said with bags of luggage in hand.

Obidiah sighed at the man, as he replied.

"Do you mean for me to go back on my word and leave these men behind".

"N--, no sir", the man stuttered shaking were he stood.

For the first time since the journey started, obidiah wore a straight face and said.

"Then we wait".

Meanwhile, Ryan got back to his feet. The black flames consuming his body once more and transforming him into the beasts he became back in town after he had supposedly died.

His hair flowed like fire, again ever so slightly. And a sharp edged coat ran across his shoulders, with his body breaking and healing and barely a word coming out from his mouth. Not even a scream.

"What sort of sorcery is that?", obidiah asked curious.

But victor had no clue. The other travellers stood in horror at the mere sight of Ryan.

"That must be a delki", they all thought to them selves.

Ryan flew towards one of them, turning his body in a circle causing his flames to take the form of and arrow.

His body melted through the hard skin of the worm and he burst out the back covered in it's blood.

It fell to the floor lifeless, but the other worms were un bothered, a worm bit into him swallowing his whole, before recieving a heavy kick from Lucy who had bolted at it.

It gauged out Ryan, as he fell to the floor covered in slob. The worms tongue had actually been burnt from his flames.

Lucy landed back on the floor hand first too break her fall, before she said"How'd you do this again?". To Ryan.

"I don't know, it just sorta happened" he replied getting back to his feet.

He saw a message flash up at his face, when he stood up right.

[Corruption level: 5%].

'It's lower than thw first time', I thought to myself.

The monsters raised their heads up, gathering giant blue balls of energy at the tip of their mouths.

Massive amounts of wind swirled around their mouths, and the energy blasts only grew in size.

"Run back, there's nothing you can do now!!!", obidiah screamed at them.

Vicki couldn't really do anything against big entities, so she wasn't close to them, and only she heard what obidiah said.

Ryan swayed his both hands up wards creating a wall of fire, but he didn't exactly think it through. He had never done it before, it was just instinct and Vicki ran right past it.

He opened his eyes In shock as Vicki grabbed him and Lucy, and teleported them out of there without hesitation.

They landed right behind obidiah, and the wall Ryan had made decipated into the wind. Obidiah took of the desert robe he had on, and revealed only a dirty cloth that was wrapped round his privates, his skin hugged his bones and he looked more skinny than a fig.

"Odd, fashion sense", Lucy whispered Into Ryan's ear, silently laughing.

Obidiah took a stance and waved his hands, back and forth like a wave, before pushing them up, causing the sand below us to fly up into the air creating a wall before us.

The death worms blast their attack towards us, and the travellers took cover bending over, both Ryan Lucy and Vicki stood ready to defend. But victor didn't move a muscle.

The death worms blast barely fazed the barrier before them.

Immediately after obidiah stomped his feet into the ground, burying the remaining worms deep into the ear.

He sighed and picked up his clothes with the barrier collapsing behind him. Looking like he had just done some easy work.

The others stood there in awe at the sight of sand, taking down the same beast they had been struggling against.

"Don't look so suprised. His a master druid this is easy for him", victor explained.

"Why does nothing in this world make sense ?" Victor exclaimed frustrated.

Obidiah laughed at their bekering as he walked off with his group behind him.

Ryan reverted back to normal immediately grabbing victor by the collar.

"Why didn't you try to help?, aren't you supposed to have levitating powers or something", he asked.

"You haven't even seen them, and I don't have the power. It was the weapon that you broke", he replied pushing Ryan off him.

"Oh, rea..... Really?",

"Yeah really, Why'd you think I was so insistent on you stopping",

"Well.....",

"It doesn't matter anymore, I got the weapon in this world anyway, so I can make another if I can get my hands on the ingredients", victor continued on holding on to the broken sword.

"What are the ingredients", Ryan asked.

"The core of an adamantian dragon, and a rare metal that's really hard too come by in these parts",

"Uhhhh, that sounds hard, and bad",

"Cause it is", victor replied storming off too catch up with obidiah.

The travellers as well as Ryan and his crew had been walking for a few days now. It was quiet but they had encountered a small number of monsters on their way.

But these ones were light work compared to the death worms.

They had finally made it off the rough desert floor, and were now well on their way to the Kingdom of longrich.

The place were they had asked obidiah too guide them too, during this time obidiah and victor had grown closer together so had vicki and Lucy. But Ryan had been lost in thought for most of the journey, there was a stone path to lead through various towns around the area.

Obidiah and his men were now at their destination and it was time for them too part ways.

"So this is it, huh", victor said, as he stretched his hand out for a hand shake once more.

Obidiah pushed his hand to the sand and hugged him instead.

"Be careful from here on out, believe it or not you are extremely well known in these parts, even a blind man suck as myself noticed you". He whispered into victor's ear.

"Wait, what..... Your blind???", victor screamed blown away.

Obidiah laughed and waved them off as he and his crew walked off.

Victor and the others made their way into a marsh land, and victor felt a slight tap on his shoulder.

"Hey, I've been thinking. Isn't it odd that these people aren't giving that creepy smile that the NPCs did in our world?", he asked.

Victor sighed saying, "you really took that npc shut too heart huh.

"No thats not the point, it's not supposed to make sense, the smiling isn't supposed too change ".

"Listen, although it's not fun to talk about, when an NPC isn't around the main character. They're not NPCs their normal for once, and that's the only reason why",

"Wait if that's so and we are NPCs here, it means the world and us revolve around the main character ",

"Yeah so,"

"It means if the main character isn't a good guy and he does whatever he wants, he can also command us",

"Huh, sounds like a certain someone I know ", victor said sarcastically.

Ryan just stopped talking and moments later they heard a heavy growl come from a forest beside them.

Ryan ignored it but victor recognised that roar.

A giant green skinned dragon emerged from the forest, with a green crystal core bursting out from it's chest.

Victor wasted no time, running head first towards it quickly being followed by Vicki.

Ryan still feeling somewhat guilty ran in after them and so did Lucy.
