Cosmic Paragon

Chapter 124: Evil Samurai!

A few days later, Drake no longer needed to monitor everything about Simon's progress at all times. Now Simon was already much better at this.

He was constantly learning from every interaction with every girl.

Drake had to admit, he was very much satisfied with this little disciple of his. Drake only needed to explain something once and he would instantly learn from it.

From one lesson Simon would comprehend, extrapolate and make his own deductions of how to handle different situations using different tactics.

It became easier and easier for him to talk to girls. And he was soon capable of reading a few girls, but just a few and sometimes his deductions were wrong.

Simon was a gamer and as one, one of the most important skills when up against another person was the ability to predict the opposition.

However, Simon was dismayed to realize that no matter how good he got, he was never able to predict girls and be accurate more than three out of ten times.

"Damn it, why can't I read and predict them with precision! It's like they're saying North when they mean South and even when I guess and go South, I'll find that they went West instead. The whole thing is driving me crazy." howled Simon. He was almost breaking down in tears.

Peter patted the young man's shoulder and consoled him with a pitying smile. "Ah Simon my dear Simon, that's the mistaking. You are trying to understand and predict the woman's heart as a mere mortal man. But you don't know is that even an immortal can't do that."

Simon raised his head with a begging look in his eyes. He craved enlightenment, yet after trying and failing countless times he found no answer. If anything he only felt more and more lost.

Peter thought it was about time Simon learnt some ancient wisdom. He started, "You need to understand that men are simple creatures when compared to the woman. Their species is naturally smarter and more complicated than us. Majority of the time, the things we do or say or how we behave looks outright stupid in their eyes. Why is that? It's because we're too lazy to always pay attention to every little detail. Women however, are the complete opposite. They are constantly paying attention to everything.

To make a comparison, if a man's mind is like a straight line, then the woman's head is like a ball of wires. Everything is connected!"

"Does that mean it's impossible for us to beat them if they don't allow it?" Simon clenched his fists unwilling to simply accept this.

Peter shook his head and refuted. "No we can beat them. The fact that they're connected to everything seeing all the details makes them gives them an advantage, but it also creates a weakness. That weakness being that it's easy to confuse them when we actually do start paying attention."

He continued. "The only time we can ever outsmart a woman is when you get rid of all other thoughts distracting you and focus completely. When we do truly focus completely we can outsmart them and since they're too connected with all the details they start looking everywhere trying to find the glitch in the system and what the source of the problem is. What they're missing. That jumbles the whole thing up for them and creates a crack that we can take advantage of to outsmart them. But you must remember that you are a man. You don't have the mind of a woman, so while it's possible to outsmart them it's absolutely impossible for you to completely understand them much less predict them. So my advice for you is that you stop trying to understand them and instead focus on outsmarting them."

Simon took some time to ponder over these words before nodding

After accepting that correction, things suddenly became easier for him as he followed Peter's advice.

It was the second birth of Frankenstein's monster.

...

Drake appeared in the map for his next fight.

Looking around he found himself in a forest. It was a bamboo forest with towering bamboo that shot high into the sky. It was night time with a full moon hanging in the sky illuminating through the darkness.

There was a stream flowing slowly to the side and the moonlight reflected softly over it.

Drake's weapon selection was completed and a long chain with a blade shaped like a spear hrads on both ends floated in front of him.

As Drake's gaze roamed over it, it reminded him of the Kusarigama. The only difference being that, now instead of having a Kama(sickle) on one end and a fundo (weight) on the other end of the Kusari(chain), this one had two spear heads or maybe they should be called kunais at the edges.

Grabbing hold of the chain, Drake slowly rolled the chain around his left arms bracer while holding a kunai in his left hand.

A white light shone thirty meters away and the opponent arrived.

It was a Young man who had donned on a complete set of armor. Samurai styled.

It made him resemble an ancient Shogun. He had two blades sheathed at his hip.

Name: Evil Samurai King

Drake scanned him with the eyes of order and his eyes immediately contracted.

"This person is a 3 Star mage!"

Drake's expression was unprecedentedly serious. For the past few days most of his opponents have been 2 star mages with very few being 3 star mages. And to be honest, apart from the Shadow family's Princess Julia and Illusion King Arthur, all the other 3 star mages were all just disappointing.

Initially, Drake had thought that once a person got to the 3 star mage level they would be extremely dangerous, capable of killing him if he dared to let himself be careless. However, reality had proven otherwise as not all 3 star mages were that powerful

When Drake saw this opponent dressed in the complete attire he was a bit doubtful that this guy really was from a true Samurai family. For the Samurai, different levels in hierarchy were the only ones permitted to dress specific ways in different types of armors. But this guy didn't observe any of that. He was dressed like a full fledged Shogun. This raised Drake's doubt. The opposition also didn't use the standard greeting so Drake was even more convinced that he did not know the Samurai's ethics.

Drake knew that true Samurai were very traditional and took their ethics very seriously. So he absolutely did not believe that this person was a true Samurai. There were just too many red flags.

Drake speculated that he was probably just a fan of the Samurai path.

Just as Drake was lost in his thoughts he failed to notice that the match start signal was given. By the time he reacted it was already too late as the opponent was already right in front of him.

Using a special movement technique Evil Samurai King closed the distance between them in an instant.

The fight had only just started, yet before Drake could even react, the opponent had already arrived in front of him.

BANG!

Evil Samurai King's fist slammed into Drake's stomach and he was sent flying.

"Humph, nothing but trash! And To think you dare claim that you defeated one of the ten kings? If that idiot Arthur san didn't let you win, you would have been kicked out of this tournament a long time ago. The thought that now I have to face trash like you insults me. Don't you dare think that I will go easy on you like that idiot did." Evil Samurai King spoke his voice full of disgust and disdain.

The spectators watched with expressions that showed their lack of surprise. This was a regular sight in all Evil Samurai King's fights.

Long before this fight began the spectators already started gazing at Paragon, their eyes filled with pity.

They all believed that Paragon was about to suffer. But their speculation was not without cause.

Evil Samurai King was not called Evil Samurai King for no reason. He was the true embodiment of his name, a bully that had no respect for anyone. He would do anything no matter how shameful or despicable to win his fights.

He was extremely sinister with a heart full of schemes! Evil Samurai King was also known for his sharp tongue, having no respect for anyone.

From his station in the stands, Phillip had a deep frown on his face.

For the past few days he and Jeremy would always show up at every one of Paragon's matches. They had watched Paragon's unstoppable streak of victories, and Paragon always put on a show for them. It was already common sense by now that Paragon could defeat even the strongest of 2 Star mages, and his fight against the Illusion King had only solidified that notion.

However, the fight against the Illusion King was also being taken as nothing but a fluke.

They believed that had the Illusion King been serious at the time, Drake would have lost without a doubt.

As a person of the entertainment industry, Phillip knew of Evil Samurai King. And frankly speaking, he didn't really like the guy.

Evil Samurai King was not but a big bully. He had no bottom line. He was both scheming and brutal.

Phillip could not help but be a little worried for Paragon. After watching so many of the guys fights he could not resist becoming a bit of a fan.

Phillip sighed. "Hah, Evil Samurai is one of the more difficult of the ten Kings. I'm afraid Paragon is going to suffer in this match."
