NOVEL WEB Chapter : Short Informational
Just wanted to add this here in case anyone was confused by the end of my Synopsis.
This story starts five years before Richard is born, so Mc is five years older than Richard. The continent of Norland and the world -and greater universe that City of Sin takes place in- isn't super fleshed out (at least not to my liking) by the author so a lot of it will have to be filled in by me. Which is fine because I enjoy it and it makes the story feel more mine. It's actually kinda crazy how little detail the author goes into about literally everything in the world, even after a thousand chapters.
The original story is so focused on Richard and his struggles everything gets lost in the background, which I really think is a shame because from the peeks we see of the world and how it works is actually super interesting. It one of the reasons -outside of the terrible ending- that I feel like it is not as spoken about or known as it should be.
So, a lot of the worldbuilding will be me trying my best to fill the gaps and make things make sense. Though sometimes I will add my own touches and my own cannon. So just consider this an AU.
This will probably show up most often when it comes to the history of the world as nothing is said at all about the past beside a few key figures or very recent history. And even that is still very sparse.
Anyway, I am not perfect and the last time I read the story was in 2023 so it has been quite sometime. But while writing this I try to regularly refer to the wiki - however sparse it may be- and the text whenever I feel the need. Please feel free to inform me of any inconsistencies that you may find. I cannot say that I will implement them or change anything I have written, but it will still be nice to know.
Another thing, my chapters are written longer than what is normal for this sight. So, for my benefit I will be shortening them to an appropriate length. Somewhere between 1200-1500 words, it really just depends where I can find a natural stopping point. I know the first two chapter posted here are about 1600 each.
