Chapter 98
"Here, Lord Fendrel. It's three hundred thousand gold coins. I already took a hundred thousand gold coins, for the ingredients and seasonings." Nelly said with an ugly face.
He was kind of infuriated by what happened, the female goblin was ahead of him. The female goblin only took a minute, whereas it took him half an hour to be done. He thought that they might have already counted all the items, and just showing off.
However, he was still outraged about how the heck they know how to add numbers. These barbarians that only know destruction, know how to read numbers was maddening him. He planned to trick these barbarians to get some extra cash, by making the prices lower. Alas, instead he becomes a laughing stock. If this becomes known in the town, he will surely die of embarrassment.
"En, nice trading to you, merchant Nelly." Fendrel said with a smile. However, Nelly saw it as a mocking smile.
"Sure... 'weirdo'" Nelly said the last word lowly that only he can hear.
However, Fendrel heard it, because of his physique that was close to Tier 3, his senses also become greater. He only laughed inside.
Nelly immediately goes into the carriage in big strides. Seeing it, Calo can only shake his head. He then looked at Fendrel with a profound gaze, before saying.
"Sorry for that, Lord Fendrel."
"It's okay, I'm used to it." Fendrel said while smiling mysteriously. In the game, Fendrel encountered such people often, some even far worse. That's why he was not easily angered by such behavior. Of course, anything has a limit.
Calo shifted his gaze to his colleagues, then ordered them. "You four, carry all items in the carriage."
While the four were working, Fendrel and Calo started chatting with each other. While they were conversing Calo can't help but be amazed. Especially when their topic, went about the auras. It's amazing how knowledgeable he was. And because of that, his impression of Fendrel, become even better.
Of course, Adrian already told him that the village they were about to go to, was the one that saved Sansa's life. He was skeptical at first, because of his understanding of monsters. Monster saving a human has never occurred in human history. Humans and monsters can't be together, just like fire and water.
However, after the conversation with Fendrel, he was convinced, 'This guy is something special' was what Calo thought. He was not sure what race Fendrel belongs to. However, he was sure that he was not a Demihuman. He looked like an Oger to him, a well-built Oger and has red skin instead of green.
After he absorbed the soul of the Dark Knight, Fendrel appearance also changed a little. His two horns grow a little, his runes like tattoos becoming visible. However, if someone won't focus on it they won't see it. Every time he promotes his race, his appearance would also change. After remembering his looks in the game, Fendrel can't help but felt a little down inside. He looked cool, however, he also looked soo scary enough to make a child makes a child faint from fear.
A few minutes later, they were done. Calo then bade goodbye.
"We will be going now. It's already past noon, and we need to go back before the night comes. Because of a disastrous event that occurred near our town." Calo said.
Hearing it, Fendrel can't help but become nervous. He might know what that disastrous event was. "Ohh, can you tell me what happened?" He tried to ask.
"That's not a problem at all, after all, it's not something that needs to keep in secret..." Calo said, shrugging. He continued. "I think it's a phenomenon called Plaque Of Death, it's plaguing and destroying the land near my town. Skeletons also destroying all living things in that place... The situation is getting worse by the day, there is even a rumor that a Lich was controlling that place." He said with an ugly face.
Hearing it Fendrel heart skipped a beat, the worst thing happened eventually. He always telling Zadrum to stay low, and don't make a move that warranty the human's attention. Alas, that skeleton still does it and does whatever he wants.
"That sounds bad." Fendrel acts like he was surprised, however, inside he was crying.
"Yeah, the situation is really bad. There are already two groups that go inside the Plaque Of Death. However, neither of those two groups come out alive... So everything is just a rumor, but these rumors will be answered by the end of the month. Since the High Priest, from the Capital will arrive to cleanse the Plague Of Death..." Calo said.
Hearing it, Fendrel countenance turned ugly. He wouldn't think that the situation, was this terrible. That guy even alerted the Kingdom's Capital, if he'd known this, he wouldn't have sent Zadrum.
"Ohh, I need to go now... Nice meeting you, I wouldn't think there would be a day, I will have a heart full conversation with a monster, hahaha." Calo laughed loudly, after their conversation he learned new things, especially about the utilization of mana.
"Then, good luck in your journey." Fendrel said, even if he wanted to force a smile he can't. Because the situation was really grave for Zadrum.
Calo already left, without knowing the changes in Fendrel's mood. After they were gone, the first thing he did, was to call out a meeting.
After a few minutes, all the Captain's and the Subordinates felt nervous seeing the unusual aura of Fendrel.
"We have a problem, remember Zadrum the lich?" Fendrel said.
"Yes, Your Majesty we all remembered him." Lavender said, the rest nodded their heads in unison. They can't possibly forget a person who makes them immobile for a second and bring chaos to the village.
"That piece of bones is giving me a problem!. Didn't take my warning to stay low, and now the Kingdom sent a High Priest to eradicate him!" Fendrel said with a gritted teeth.
"Your Majesty, do you want us to ready the soldier and help Lord Zadrum." Franco asked, he addressed Zadrum as Lord because he felt like it.
"No!!, we need them to-"
"Tok, Tok" Fendrel stopped when he heard a knock on the door.
Shortly after, a Knight comes in, it kneeled on one leg, before reporting. "Your Majesty, Sorry for disturbing your meeting. But there is a guest that wanted to see you."
