{The Shadow Queen's Card has been Extracted!}
{New ability obtained.}
{Shadow dispersion!: -$100,000 per use}
{Shadow link transport!: -$200,000 per use}
Caleb could barely see the screen in front of him, his eyes were steadily fixed on the two figures in front of him.
And while he was in his fit of rage, he failed to notice the look of shock on their faces.
The card that Caleb had been holding!
They all saw it... The card, it completely disintegrated... Disappearing out of existence.
Hakate's eyes widened with disbelief, "How... How... No—what are you?" He asked, his hands shaking uncontrollably by his side.
The masked man's brows knitted in confusion as he saw the scene as well.
Although he didn't react much... That alone was enough to tell that Caleb's actions shocked him as well.
Alice, who was behind Caleb, had a similar expression on her face; she looked at Caleb's back, several thoughts running through her mind.
"How is it possible?.." She whispered to herself in disbelief as she saw the card break off into shards of glass, vanishing into the air like a dying star.
'It's never happened before... How did he do it?' Alice thought, looking at the card she had attached to her gloves.
She had tried several means... She tried tearing it, burning it, corrosion with chemicals, but nothing worked.
Yet... Caleb had destroyed a card just by making contact with it!
Hakate was still in shock, but Caleb didn't wait for him.
Instantly, Caleb's body turned into a blur of shadows.
It dispersed—No, it melted away... and in a blink of an eye, nothing was there.
Hakate stiffened as icy fingers clamped down on his shoulder from behind.
Following it was a deep, dark voice... Darker than any he had ever heard.
"This time, I'll make sure there'll be nothing left."
He saw his life flash before his eyes as the ice-chilling cold crept up his hand, rapidly turning it into an ice sculpture.
'He has the power of the card!' Hakate thought, terrified.
But he didn't think as the ice spread.
He reacted quickly, his left hand sharpening into a sword.
He sliced off the ice hand.
He didn't think even for a second, his body moved instantly.
Not from option, but with fear.
He melted, sinking into the silvery floor.
He appeared from the other side, his silvery form taking shape, his eyes wide open in shock.
He looked to his left, his hand was missing.
And when he turned back to Caleb, he could see him holding the ice-frozen hand.
It took the masked man a few minutes to process what happened.
He quickly pulled the rifle from his side, targeting Caleb, who was now by his side.
But before the bullet could leave the sniper, Caleb's hand blurred with speed.
Ding!
He clamped the muzzle of the gun with a bone-crushing force.
It didn't end there... Cold ice shot out from his palm like a plague, instantly snaking its way up the rifle.
"What the—" The masked man shouted in panic as he pressed hard on the trigger.
~Skrree
Only the muffled sound from the rifle could be heard as the muzzle stiffened from Caleb's ice.
He instantly left the gun, jumping back to give distance between himself and Caleb.
'It seems he can't move through the silvered walls like Hakate?' Caleb thought to himself, seeing how the masked man reacted.
But he still kept a calm face.
"How can he use two powers?! And he still doesn't have a card." The masked man asked out the same question that had been on everyone's mind.
Hakate looked at Caleb with a thoughtful look on his face.
This was the first time he had ever witnessed such, even after all his years of living.
'How is this possible?' Hakate didn't have the answer to the question himself.
'I said he was an anomaly. But this?... This is much more than I expected. What is this man?' Hakate thought as he looked at Caleb.
However, he didn't see the calm boy he had seen back in the auction VIP room—No, Caleb's eyes weren't the same as back then.
Those calm green eyes from before, they weren't calm anymore—They were radiating anger.
The kind that made one's skin crawl.
They had darkened from rage.
And then, there was the energy around him.
The unnerving energy that made his body tremble in fear.
'Why does he have this energy. The energy of those monsters' Hakate thought, remembering the beast he had seen in the true dream.
'No, I can't be afraid of someone like him... He hasn't even entered the true dream. There's no way...'
"You cockroach just die." Hakate's brow twictched as he pulled out a shotgun from his suit pocket.
BANG! BANG! BANG!...
He shot relentlessly. Without pause.
But the more he shot, the more his eyes widened from the sight he witnessed.
{Absolute freeze!}
{Absolute freeze!}
{Absolute freeze!}
{Absolute freeze}...
Caleb was walking calmly, almost like a god walking through the realm of mortals.
Clank... Clank.... Clank.
One by one, as the bullets neared him, they froze instantly.
Falling to the ground with a clattering sound.
Hakate stumbled back as he pulled the trigger once more, only to realize that the bullets had completely finished.
He looked at the gun in his hands, and for a moment, confusion struck him.
He turned to the masked man by his side.
"What are you looking at! You have a gun, shoot!" He shouted.
The masked man came out of his awe.
He had watched all the bullets turn to frozen balls while Caleb walked calmly.
"Can't you see it's having no effect" The masked man replied, feeling slightly pressured by Hakate.
"Then you keep shooting till he runs out of energy. Keep shooting!" Hakate shouted, his voice echoing with desperation.
But while he was shouting, this time, from the side of his eyes, he caught the sight of Caleb dispersing into shadows again.
